Canary02 0 Posted October 17, 2006 The squad is due to change hugely at the end of the season as contracts expire, which is obviously going to shape Grants activities this season, especially in January. At the moment the situation looks like this:Those out of contract who will probably be allowed to leave: Matthieu Louis-Jean, Craig Fleming, Peter Thorne, Dion Dublin, Ian Henderson Those out of contract that will probably stay: Darren HuckerbyThose in contract who will probably stay: Adam Drury, Lee Croft, Youssef Safri, Dickson Etuhu, Jurgen Colin, Rossi Jarvis, Michael Spillane, Joe LewisThose in contract who will probably leave: Robert EarnshawThose under a question mark: Paul Gallacher, Jason Shackell, Andy Hughes, Paul McVeigh (C), Ryan Jarvis, Robert Eagle(C), Gary Doherty, Matthew Halliday (C), Andy Cave-Brown (C), Andy Fisk (C), Carl Robinson, Steve Arnold (C), Chris Martin (C)That leaves us with a probable squad of Hucks, Drury, Croft Safri, Etuhu, Colin, Rossi Jarvis, Spillane and Lewis, totalling 9 players. In addition there will be up to 13 others who may or may not be given further contracts and/or deemed good enough. With Earnshaw the only highly likely contracted casualty, but 5 others expected to leave on frees, the squad looks ready to chop and change massively. Granty''s initial team selections will be interesting for those potentially on the way out, but what seems clear is that any signings in January need to be good ones that stick, because the squad is due a massive overhaul.N.B. These arn''t neccesarily my choices, just what I see the current situation and likely outcomes to be.
