lucky green trainers 0 Posted January 26, 2006 5 days after deano, no bids, just enquiries and speculation, city keeping their cards close to their chest. we managed a 2 week bluff with hammers over deano then were seen, 8m too far. now transfer inactivity is put down to other clubs holding out on us. we won''t be held to ransom the pink un cries today. the last time this ransom line was used was before the beginning of our prem season, when rather than pay 2-3m for a striker, we compromised and bought doc to play up front, only to realise later that didn''t work - surprise, surprise, and then ditch him in the reserves until this season.you could say that decision helped to get us relegated as buying deano in the jan window was too late, and probably similar attitudes won''t get us promoted now. however, panic buying makes no sense either, so perhaps we should get loanees in and then buy early in the summer. who''d be a manager?
