  1. There’s been a few rumours flying around recently regarding former players potentially returning to CR. Many of the views on here have been negative towards the players linked (Bennett and Martin) - I was wondering who would be welcomed back (if money was no object)?

Limited to players still actually playing ( & discounting Maddison and Kane) I would go for Nathan Redmond.

I would not be disappointed to see Josh Murphy return

    RVW...? 🙊

    Thoughts?

Running game at Wembley. One player who we should go back for, would definitely get us back up at first attempt

He looks pretty much the same as when he played for us - positionally good, neat & tidy...not a patch on Alex tho 😉

I don’t think you can question the lads lack of effort tonight, I’m not having that. Farke was on the touch line barking orders but that doesn’t mean it equates to 3 points - the lads need to make that happen, though it’s not totally in their hands given they’re also facing an equally determined 11 players.

We were especially tentative against Brighton in the main and deserved what was served up. We were crap, perhaps down to nerves I suspect. But we gave it a good go tonight. Effort. And for that, I’m on their side.

I actually stated it wasn’t down to a lack of effort in my original post...

It’s the excruciatingly slow, possession based game we play - all the sideward and backward passing...we lack intensity.

Godfrey aside I can’t remember a player making a full blooded challenge since the re-start either.

  4. The most disappointing thing for me since the restart is the lack of intensity. I expected us to be fired up & in people’s faces...if we lost then it was down to quality, not effort.

I’m not saying the boys didn’t put effort in...Farke just seems so reluctant to change our approach.

Confidence is low...so surely a ‘high press’ and no risks at the back would have been better?

I don’t know the answer...but I have become more and more disillusioned with each game (Man Utd FA Cup game aside)

I don't think Rhodes would have been any use to us whatsoever this season. Assuming we're relegated then I would like him back, make very possible effort to keep Pukki, get in Dwight Gayle and Idah as another option and job done.

I’d take Gayle over Rhodes if they were the same price...but they’re not.

  6. With 6 months left on his contract at Sheff Wednesday and the lack of fit strikers available atm, surely we might as well offer Weds a few mill and get him in NOW?

I know at 29 (30 in Feb) he’s not exactly one for the future, but would be a useful addition for next season...whichever  league we’re in.

Just back from Palace and firstly hats off to our fantastic away following. For about 80% of that game the atmosphere and support matched if not bettered anything I'd experienced away from FCR for a long, long time.

I have been critical of Farke for not giving Drmic more of a meaningful run out but today was different. the geezer had 30 minutes (including injury time) and I have to say I thought he was absolutely woeful. His first touch was poor and he made little attempt to contest any aerial stuff. Now you would assume that he would have made damn sure he ran himself ragged and 'got stuck in'. I saw no sign of that. Fans can forgive lack of quality but they will not forgive lack of effort. Maybe he was carrying an injury, maybe he was / had been unwell. That's being unduly lenient, though, I fear. If he can look himself in the mirror tonight and honestly say............'Yeah, I gave everything',  we have serious problems I can tell you,.

Farke needs to get to the bottom of his performance as priority One on Monday / Sunday morning. The bloke needs to be left in no doubt that any repeat of that will not be tolerated at FCR and we should play Srbeny or Idah instead. We have all seen the videos of Drmic poncing around in the Mediterranean with his film star looking wife / girl friend. Perhaps he should go back to acting. On today's performance he certainly ain't a footballer!

I was at Selhurst Park and 100% agree. I thought Drmic was awful - his first touch was horrific and he did not compete in the air.

Tbf to him he was playing in a ‘Midfield’ role from what I could make out...and obviously this isn’t where he wants to be.

I was actually pretty happy when he was coming on, as it was a show of intent. He was very disappointing tho, but one bad game doesn’t make him a bad player / option.

Rumour that Jacob is returning on loan...

Although there isn’t much support for a return for either of them on this thread...I wouldn’t be disappointed if either Murphy returned on loan.

Both are lightning quick and capable of turning a game...traits that will be particularly important in our away games next season.

I saw Josh play a number of times for Cardiff last season - he can be massively effective at times. Out of the 2 I’d be happier if we could get him back....but only on loan.

Probably said in jest, but it raises an interesting point.

How many priority memberships can/will the club sell? I've been a priority member ever since I moved away and have only once failed to get tickets for a game (while we were in the Premier League, obviously) so there's a risk it could happen again.

I'll probably only be able to get to a couple of games this season, so I'd be disappointed if I couldn't get tickets, which may be the case if there are loads of people scrambling over about 3,000 tickets.

    I’m the same, I’ve always had a priority membership...although I have never actually lived Norfolk...even though I tell everyone that’s where I’m from 😂

I live in Staffordshire and unfortunately last season even with my points n membership I couldn’t get a ticket for Forest away.

My bros and I have said that if we’re at CR first game we’ll go if we can get ticks...we’ll probably end up in different stands but I don’t care 😁

I suppose he could, but why would he? To be honest, I think Norwich is in the wrong here. They entered into a loan deal with an agreed price of 7 million quid to buy at the end, and that was agreed when most people would have expected us to be starting next season in the Championship. Now we're saying we'd like him, but not at the price we'd already agreed to? I think it's shameful to be honest.

Do you work in the public sector? 😂

You said he was a lot quicker. Whilst Rhodes isn't renowned for his pace, if someone was considered to be a lot quicker, I'd suggest that would mean they are very fast.

I am trying not to react to your pedantic post...however, I am far to weak minded to let it go....

I stand by my comment - IMO Rhodes (who I do actually rate) is pretty slow...meaning a ‘fairly quick’ Waghorn is a lot quicker.

  12. Gayle would be a good signing...but I’d be very surprised if it materialises as Newcastle will want too much for him. If we are to believe that we have £20mill to spend I can’t see us signing one player for £10mill +....

That said I think we probably have more than the £20mill to spend that Webber has stayed. It wouldn’t exactly be a good buying policy to come out and say ‘We’re going to spend £xx mill’...but what do I know?!

Surprised at the suggestion that Rhodes doesn’t work hard enough? Not my take at all.

Agreed, I would call Jordan lazy or unmotivated either ...

I didn’t say Rhodes was lazy...just that MW works harder. I’m only basing this on what I’ve seen of him - he’s not blessed with great finesse but he’s a pain in the a$$ for defenders due to his work rate (like a sh1tter version of Holt in his prime).

RE The question about his pace - I said he was quicker than Rhodes. I  don’t have his or Rhodes‘ 60m PBs to hand...but I’m quietly confident Waghorn is faster
