One of the reason they have such a deep, quality squad is because they finish at the top end of the premier league and in champions league places. That money is supposed to help support a squad that can be rotated with quality players coming in.

I have zero sympathy. It adds to the challenge, yes, but he can rotate players and not pile it all on the same ones.

Spot on. I was pleased when Alan Shearer made that exact point during the interview with Pep.

They have a huge squad of expensive talent - use the depth. Doku (£50m) and Dias (£60m) came on for them yesterday, Kovacic was on the bench. I find him bleating on about the number of games highly irritating and rather distasteful tbh.

Honestly think Fassnacht was worse. Marginally perhaps, but Watford couldn't believe their luck down that side.

It was a close run thing between the 2 of them…ahaha

I’d like to see the pass success rates of the two of them - all I remember from the second half was Onel either ‘passing’ the ball off the pitch or to a Watford player…

Admittedly I have tried to delete most of the second half from memory.

You've got to admit it's bizarre that Onel and Fassnacht were kept on as long as they were today though, and really difficult to justify from a sporting perspective.

It isn't unusual for someone who has lost the dressing room to play those who show loyalty and "buy-in" as opposed to those who could do the best job for the squad.

Onel was truly woeful. You can never say he’s not giving his all, but he had an absolute stinker…

Not that anyone covered themselves in glory…he was just glaringly bad.

    It's banter people. Banter.

    No, it’s shanter.

If I’ve learnt one thing from following Norwich over the years, is that it’s prudent to never celebrate early…it can often bite you in the ****.

Let’s hope this is the case with this brain dead chav.

The fact that he is only on loan there makes this pretty bizarre tbh

It’s not surprising that a vaccine for a disease that was discovered 125 years ago is more effective than for one that was discovered 4 years ago.

Thanks for reinforcing my original point pal. The definition of vaccine was changed from ‘providing immunity’ to ‘providing protection’ from a specific disease.

The decision whether to have the ‘vaccine’ or not is a personal choice….I’m happy with my choice, as you appear to be with yours.

Clearly you don’t understand the vaccines and what they do. Feel free to show me where it was ever said the vaccines would stop you catching covid, by any serious scientist. Those over 80 now survive covid in the main, whereas before the vaccines it wasn’t likely you would.

I’m pretty sure when I had a yellow fever vaccine it prevented me from contracting said infection and prevented me from spreading the infection to other countries…

But you are clearly an expert, so feel free to correct me

The way the media dramatise every story to be more than it is.

The culture here is different and if a certain crime is committed the culprits are dealt with accordingly, that’s how it is. The states puts people to death but there’s no uproar overseas when it happens is there?

As for the same sex relationship in this area, it’s not as clear cut as the media make out at all.  It is frowned upon yes, and it’s when there are shows of affection in this way in public, which is also frowned upon in heterosexual relationships too.

People need to understand the culture before condemning what they are told happens in this region, which a lot of the time is untrue.

I wouldn’t waste your time, why would you know more about the culture and ways of life in the Middle East, than someone who gobbles up whatever propaganda the media in the UK provides?!

It’s probably the same people who queued up for the vaccine and are now catching Covid…lucky that they changed the definition of ‘vaccine’ in 2022.

This thread really demonstrates how clueless and irrational far too many posters on here are!

    I couldn’t agree more.

Anyone who’s played (any standard!) football in their life will realise it’s pretty difficult to control header when the ball is fizzed at you…

He’d have actually been better trying to ‘chest it in’…but tbf to Idah he didn’t have much time to react.

I am no Idah lover…but this is not a ‘how did he miss that?’ chance!

I’m sure we are all feeling fantastic as the weekend kicks in and want to show our love to all.

Big Dunc, you are an amazing guy and I adore your late night sarcastic humour. I love your stats Hoggy and the weeks defence of super Ben Gibson has been truly admirable.

Don’t forget the positive noise, views and opinions of the potential future success of Springett and Hwang…you love to see it

    Is that so?

I take it then that you agree with the manager who seems to think that the team can replicate its early season performances with Hwang replacing Sargent. That was my point ... which you seem to have totally missed.

When I stated that I thought that the Korean would eventually earn his corn at Carrow Road it was really based upon his pedigree and the fact that Forest considered this sufficiently enhanced in order to fork out the best part of £4m for him to perform at Premier League level.

It is, of course far too premature to assess what the player's true worth to City will be for the whole season but still not too early to 'judge' that Josh Sargent he 'aint.

Who knows, is my honest answer.

My gripe was people suggesting he is garbage. I’m not disputing that he is not Sargent mark 2, he is clearly a different kind of player.

It is worth pointing out that Sargent was playing with Barnes…who, I’m sure you will agree, offers a lot more in terms of support play, than Idah.

His goal scoring record for Bordeaux was not prolific, but was pretty decent - so clearly has something to offer.

    Take a joke fella.

While you're at it, take a year off.

Nice deflection - I’m glad you can see that your first post was verging on ridiculous.

As I said in my first post, he might well turn out to be a dud, but judging him based on 3 cameo appearances is comical.

It is for sure, but the manager led us to believe that he was an ample replacement for Action Man Sargent and he clearly isn't. It wouldn't take 100 minutes or even 50 minutes of playing time to assess that wild claim.

I personally think that the player will eventually earn his corn at Carrow Road, but Josh Sargent he 'aint.

Tonight will reveal more. In the meantime, the naivety of the manager in assuming we could keep up with Sargent style football without the man himself is quite disturbing.

What was your verdict on Sargent after 50 mins?

Personally I thought he looked like he’d never played football before.

I see people are still on the fence about him.

    Lol.

I find it amusing that people can see him play for circa 100 mins and know he is garbage. He might well be, but give him a chance FFS.

Admittedly, football is completely different to a ‘normal’ profession, but imagine if you went to a new job and your performance assessed after 100 mins…a review on whether you were fully up to speed with all systems and processes!!

    Laughable

  14. I posted about Barnes in another thread, couldn’t quite bring myself to compare him to Holt, but he has time.

He must be horrible to play against - constantly on the move, harassing, niggling and winding up the opposition with verbals. I’m old skool and I love to see it!

He’s exactly the kind of player we needed - he’s vocal and sets the tone for everyone else.
