  1. Hello guys,

I''ve not posted on here In a couple of years since I''ve been at university in Lincoln. It''s getting to the point where I have to seriously think about my dissertation. A dissertation is an independent study on a field of your choice. I study business and the field I wish to pursue a career in is football.

Enough about my life story, I would like to know if any of you could help with some ideas. Ideally I would like to taylor my study on NCFC because they are the club I want to work for, however I am passionate about football in general and am open to suggestions like womens football, economics, marketing, training, leagues and cups. You get the idea.

Apologies for such a boring post but any help would be appreciated.

  2. Can only mean that Swansea would replace him with Olsson and my guess is that Norwich would replace him with highly rated Hamilton LB Steven Hendrie who is currently attracting interest from West Ham. Though i could be reading way to much into this, but it seems reasonable.

Would love to see us sign Lee from Bolton for the low price of 1mil.

Any how i''d like to see any action or news regarding Norwich and the transfer market though hopefully Bassong will be like a new signing and help to tighten up our forever leaking defence.

  3. This post may spark up controversy but I wondered which of our own players we as fans overrate.

I''m going to go with, Elliot Bennet, great lad, great personality and I respect he''s not fully match fit yet because of his long term injury, but I still don''t think he''s as good as people make him out to be. Though I''d love to be proved wrong.

I say Olsson because I actually think in this division Garrido is pretty decent, IMO I think he has a better delivery and eye for a pass than Olsson, though I''d say maybe Olsson is better at defending.

    Any other opinions?

  4. At the end of the day if we keep winning matches that''s all that matters. Ricky was never going to stay, Bassong and Becchio whatever your thoughts, they don''t look like they have a future at our club and Leroy Fer should be playing in the EPL at his stage in his career. Surman however, in the last few games in a Norwich shirt he hasn''t looked that great, so I wouldn''t mind him leaving, nor would I mind seeing him stay and improve.

I don''t think as fans we''ve been mislead, though I would like to see some our players replaced with some genuine quality.

  5. So the sources which suggest Pilkington is leaving for Cardiff are very legit. Reports from BBC Wales and Oli himself in Cardiff''s post match interview last night pretty much confirm the departure of Anthony from our squad. Who are we going to replace him with?

Our very own Murphy? Or someone else Chung Yong-Lee from Bolton (who we''ve had ''rumoured'' links of interest in).

    Who else?

I guess this means that Redmond is staying put, which IMO is better than having £5m which we won''t see spent on our first 11.

  6. When Adams claimed when we were getting on top of the game in the second half and he thought we were in the strongest position to win the game. I agree with him.

I also agree with him when he says the red card changed the game.

A positive is that, we had a really poor half from our expected standards as a club, but we managed to weather the storm, refresh at half time and come out the stronger team.

Wolves also had 30 mins against us and only managed to score 1 goal, all be it the deciding one. But even when we went 3 at the back, we didn''t concede against a Wolves side full of momentum with the support of the crowd roaring them on, and a club set up which has been cemented for a while. We also managed to create chances in this period.

We didn''t have our strongest line up, Fer and Hooper still have to come back, as well as Lafferty and Pilks.

I don''t believe we have too much to worry about YET. Confidence and momentum is key in this league, so a win on Saturday in front of our home supporters is just what we need to get up and running. I don''t think we should start to panic and call for board to sack N.A, we need to SUPPORT our team and believe that Adams with time will get it right.

Evidently Hoops and Grabban are capable of getting 40 goals between them this season, Redmond is still a good player, though I would prefer to see him on the wing, though with exception of Ruddy I worry about what genuine quality we possess in defence. But we still have time to address that.

It''s been one game of the season and our ''supporters'' have already verbally torn the club, players and management apart after a single game against a good team. Like Wolves we are in the championship on merit, we can''t just expect to go to a well supported organised team with form opposite to our own and expect to beat them.

Lets get 10-15 games into the season, and then start to judge.

  7. Yeah, I wouldn''t consider 26 years of age old, but in terms of physicality he should be reaching his peak soon. Like I said to Dubai I''ve not said he''s going to be Vincent Kompany, in fact, like you highlighted, I said he is ''good''. Definitely good for the Championship imo. Also like Mark, you have failed to have much input, instead you have diverted away from context of the question to try and pick holes. So who do you think has done the best business so far?

  8. £5.5m is pricey for a striker from Peterborough, but then again Gayle cost Palace £8m. Though I dare say that if we bought him for £5.5m we''d shrug our shoulders in acceptance that, that is the way football is going nowadays. I''ve not said that Mancienne is ''great'' but I do think he''s a ''good'' signing for a Championship side like Forest, we shall see. Apart from negativity though, you failed to answer my question on which club do you think has done the best business so far Mark?

  9. I was wondering about peoples opinions on which Championship club has done the best business so far in this transfer window?

We often praise McNally for being shrewd, a couple of recent examples being Grabban for £3m and hopefully getting our money back on our record signing of £8.5m when he only has scored 1 goal for us. Not bad business at all in my opinion.

But the best business so far IMO has to go to Nottingham Forest. Recently sold Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow only for them to be loaned back for the season, whilst using the revenue created by that to buy record signing Britt Assombalonga, who looks like a good prospect. On top of that they have bought Michael Mancienne who looks like another good, young solid defender. Lascelles and Mancienne is a great CB partnership for the Championship.

    What do you think?

  10. In the last 10 seasons, I think there has only been 6 teams who have been relegated from the EPL and gained promotion the next season. And QPR with the exception of gaining promotion though play-offs. That''s 6 out of 30 teams which is 20%

My questions are; Even though our main target is to gain promotion back to the EPL, should we expect it?

What is the key to get gain promotion from arguably one of the most competitive leagues in the world?

And where has the previous relegated teams from the EPL gone wrong in failing to achieve promotion straight back? Considering most people believe they have an advantage with finance and parachute payments.

  11. There link to us being interested as a club in him whatsoever, however in a fantasy world, I believe he would be a great recruitment for the RB position. He doesn''t get a look in at Liverpool still only aged 24 and has gone through the England International ranks. I also doubt he would be over priced, and I''m certain he would do a good job.

So far there is no evidence to suggest that EB will play RB for us, whereas it is evident RM will play CB which leaves us with SW. Any other thoughts/suggestions on possible RB options?

  12. Correct me if I''m wrong, but will the world cup in Brazil make a profit?

I''d say yes. So why not use the profit to help fight against poverty in their own country? Surely this would be the best outcome, everybody wins.

Finally, nothing will change if I turn off my TV for the next month, therefore I will watch it, enjoy it, support my country and appreciate watching the worlds greatest players on the worlds biggest stage.

  13. Apologies if I''m repeating a previous post, there''s so many topics on here, it''s hard to keep up at times.

These two players have been released by Villa, wondered if anybody would be happy with either or both at our club?

I don''t really have much of an opinion on Delf, all I know about him is that he used to show lots of potential and he''s young, English and he''s a strong and pacey forward.

Albrighton however, I''ve always liked, whenever I''ve watched him play he always seems sharp and pacey. Despite this though, we already have wingers in the likes of Redmond, Benno, Pilks and Snodgrass, so I guess we wouldn''t need him unless Snodgrass goes elsewhere this summer.

  14. Allot of people on here are saying, yeah profit, great, sold.

Well, we could sell him, but if he scores 20 plus goals in the championship and helps us get promoted where we would get many many many more millions of pounds, he would be worth an awful lot more to us.

  15. Will having N.A. in charge really effect our ''pulling power''?

Doesn''t seem like it. I''ve been sitting on the fence with my opinions of the appointment of the new manager, but with the new signing of Grabben, and watching N.A. interviews on the new look first team coaching staff, I''m beginning to feel quite positive about the new season.

    Replacement for Bassong next please..

  16. Against Italy. Montolivo (their captian) was subbed off i the first half with what looked like a bad injury, which could be good news for England.

As for the performance of the Norwich boys, Pilkington has shown why he should be playing for Norwich next season, I think he had a terrific first half and the highlight so far being when he produced a great bit of skill to get past 3 Italian defenders. Hoolahan has been quite quiet, though his passing has been good so far, occasionally getting knocked off the ball because of his size.

Anyone who''s interested in watching our players participate in a good match, with the score at half time 0-0 can watch on the link below:

  17. I really hope we get to keep hold of him this summer, I really think he''s a quality player. Every player was inconsistent last season, so Fer can take no more blame for being below par than the rest of the squad.

He was also ruined by negative tactics last season as I believe allot of our players were. If he stays with us, I''m sure he would turn into a valuable asset.

  18. After one shocking season in the EPL for him, I wonder how much his value has dropped from £8.5 mil?

If they are interested, perhaps loaning him out would be the best option and hope he hits the type of form he was in when he was last playing in Portugal. Then his value may increase and hopefully Norwich can get their money back, if not more.

Saying that I''m still a dreamer and I''d like to think with confidence and an attacking team behind him, he can still live up to the hope and expectation that he arrived here with. I''d still want to give him a chance to play for us, N.A. will know by now what he would like to do with him. I guess in the forthcoming weeks, we shall find out.

  19. There have been some reports that Steve McClaren might be their next manager, how gutted would you be!

You might assume then (metaphorically) if that is the case, he might hand pick a couple of players from Derby, Hughes for example. This could result in weakened competition for the Championship, so overall the news that may be Pochettino moving to Spurs could be relevant to Norwich.

Therefore Norfolk Canary can quit needlessly complaining and be happy again.
