1. Norwich Lineup:

Rudd; Pinto, Klose, Bassong, Olsson; Howson, Mulumbu, Tettey (c), Jarvis; Naismith; Mbokani

Bench: Ruddy, Martin, Jerome, Hoolahan, Redmond, Bennett, Odjidja.

Spurs:Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Rose; Dembele, Dier; Alli, Eriksen, Son; Kane

Tettey as Captain, interesting. AN showing he''s not beyond dropping our regular captain.

  2.
What Gref said is simply correct. If Hooper played in a system which benefits him and plays to his strengths he would score many goals for City. But plain truth is Alex seems hell bent on retaining the one up front style of formation so Hooper sadly is total waste of a striker at this club.  Sell him to Wednesday, who will find the money, and reatain Lafferty as 3rd  striker. We dont need any other strikers, 3 is enough for the sole 1 man up front. Alex has to find that magic ingredient of supplying one man up there with the chances to score. Also dont need Mr. Naismith or any other midfielders, just strengthen our central defence, please?
I don''t think it''s so much as AN being hell bent on a certain style or formation, as shown by his changes in the tactics this season.

I think what it comes down to is - as good as he is, is Hooper a good enough player to form a team around? and for me it''s a no.

  3.
Certainly not impossible to see him leaving, but I doubt it, in this window.

His development may have stagnated a bit, or perhaps we have higher hopes for his development than what is realistic?

If he leaves, it will be a rather decent fee. 8-10 mill?
I would honestly say 10m is on the low side, all things considered.

10m is what I would think most would want for a summer sale, but adding in to the fact that it''s January, and he''s English (so you have to add on a few mill, it seems like that''s mandatory) I''d say 15m would be fair.

  4. Not so sure it''s about leaving. I''d hope not. Could be a number of things, but on a personal level for him it does come across that he''s frustrated. We know that he''s basically put his family on his back, so it may be something to do with that, but again, I hope not.

in the end it could be that Ryan bennet has taught him his awful transfer window windups.

  5. also, in response to this fallacy of "If we''re not a top choice, we''re better off without him" - it''s utter rubbish. If we''re indeed not his top choice, but he ends up coming to us, he''s not going to throw his career away by not playing at his best. the term "stepping stone" comes to mind. odds are he will work his arse off in hope of getting a better team to come in for him. This is mutually beneficial. He gets to go to a more prestigious team, and we would likely make a profit on the transfer, while racking up the points when he is here.

  6.

Ya i seem to recall amidst all these reports mention of City paying him 3 mill euro a year wages, which if true, would seem to be comparable, if not even more than hes getting at Inter. For sure in this instance, this player would not be turning down City because of a drop in wages but for the other argued about reasons.
Hmm...if he is turning down a 50% increase in wages (supposedly), there must be good arguments for him to stay in Italy...or good arguments in general for him not to come to Norwich (uncertain future if relegation, possible loss of place in the EURO2016 squad, new country, does not speak the language well enough, small club almost unheard of in Italy, etc.)

Could be many reasons, but if we can not get a player of this kind when offering a 50% increase in wages, knowing that players have short careers, and that wages/money would, for most, perhaps be the biggest reason to move (maybe apart from winning trophies/honours), I struggle to see how we can get similar players through the doors.

Maybe the guy will be thinking his time at Norwich will be all about fighting off relegation each year (which it probably also will be), and he would like a chance at a club where he could win something.
Having travelled quite a bit around the East Coast of the U.S, and some places along the west, I''ve always had a few people comment on my Norwich (Nor-which as they call it) shirt.

This is in the UNITED STATES. Home of baseball and American football. if Norwich isn''t ''unheard of'' here, then I''m sure it''s known in Italy.

  7. The only real problem with Redmond is that he has no competition.

I''d say 1 good game in 5 is harsh. He played badly today, no ifs ands or buts about it. But right now he''s almost guarenteed a start every game. we have no other real right wingers now. We have Brady who is playing too well as a LB to convert him to an inverted winger, and we need Jarvis out on the left when he''s finally back fit.

It''s not something I''ve seen many say we need this January, but cover for Redmond is necessary. Competition for a position is vital in this league.

  8. As some have said, he may not be in the first team next year should we stay up. Having said that though, it shouldn''t be underestimated how big of an impact having someone like him just in the squad can have. Bags of experience and a natural leader. I''d much rather have him til he retires than bouncing around teams in the championship.

  9.
Sonyc, yes, again, most if not all clubs in our position will require a players contract to include a relegation clause, BUT if the player doesn''t accept it that''s his prerogative, and in this case he has said no!
I''m a big fan of Naismith, and would love to see him here. But if we were signing him, as suggested, to play behind the striker. I would like to see Ofoe get his chance starting there. If he can do well, not getting Naismith may be a blessing in disguise.
