No you’re not getting mine and others.
It’s not about who the better player is, it’s about how key they were/are to the team’s ability to play their way.
Emi was almost essential for Farke’s system and we constantly struggled to find an alternative. Rowe is a very good player but not essential to Wagner’s.
-
Rowe is not equivalent to Emi. He has a knack of scoring and is a very good player but he’s clearly not as vital to this team as Emi was.
Pretty much everything good went through Emi, much like the Hoolahan years. He was the heartbeat of that team, it’s clear Rowe’s contribution isn’t like that.
I’d far rather see Sargent stay than Rowe given the choice, it’s not even close and that says it all. This team can survive without Rowe, that team couldn’t survive without Emi.

Would like to see the Barnes disallowed goal again, looked marginal to me.

He’s a top, top player. If anyone is in doubt about why we want promotion it’s to keep hold of players like him. I doubt we will be able to if we don’t.

Get a life.
Didn’t you start a whole thread attacking people booing post the Watford win?
C’mon this comment is pure hypocrisy.

Yes, yes he is. He’s good for this board generally but he flip flops whichever way he thinks is popular and feeds off controversy.

Just loves to pop up and score from time to time
He’s more like a wide striker/10 than a winger.
He’s a clever and tidy player with a great finish and a knack of getting in good positions.
Does the defensive work well, but he doesn’t have electric pace or the desire to get chalk on his boots. In fact he often does the opposite and drifts centrally.
He’s just a different type of option.

I think that’s one of the most complete and dominant performances of the Wagner era. Absolutely fantastic performance and result.

Too cheap IMO. Given his age and the lack of top no. 9s he’s worth far more IMO.

Thing is he wasn’t the right player for that season but I always liked him and thought he always looked to me like he had bags of potential.
You’re right, it’s a steal now. I hope we can keep him somehow, he’s a phenomenal player and could lead the line for years.
C’mon Mark you know you want an American as our best player, just makes sense.

He’s been my favourite player for a while, living up to all that promise. I’m just terrified personally of the interest coming his way this summer.

Got to be one of if not the best halves of the Wagner era.
Should be about 5-1 at least. Fantastic performance.

Scored a midfielder's goal recently and centre back today. He wasn't that bad as a full back for a brief period either.
We'll miss the Mayor when he moves on.
Hopefully he doesn’t until he’s just too old to do what he does. Yea he’s got mistakes in him, but that’s why he plays for us and not someone better. People call players underrated a lot when it’s not necessarily true, but IMO Kenny is by both some supporters and non-local media.

Horses for courses.
Come on city let's turn this lot over.
I like the lineup personally, Kenny is more attacking option at CB than Sorensen, allows Nunez in midfield. I think it’s the right selection for Wagner’s tactics against a poor Cardiff team.

Well, other than Batth who Wagner hates
He’s been dropped for Kenny?

Bit of a weird attack Buh, I’m an ex pat and I often agree with you (even if not your methods sometimes). In fact I think a lot of those who can’t get to every game from what I’ve seen share or at least understand some of your concerns.
Most of the posters I see who don’t agree with you about actions at games are the Season Ticket holders.
It’s a weird one for me, I can only get to a handful of home games a season so the change and tension in atmosphere from what I’ve experienced over the last 30 years is so palpable to me.
The idea that it’s just some small minority booing and that everything would be fine if they didn’t is so obviously wrong I don’t understand how people going to every game can honestly believe it.

Just now, norfolkngood said:we need to try him now so if he is any good we can buy him do not know if we have a clause ?
but get him in scoring some goals get him happy here so he wants to stay
Pretty sure Pinkun said we have a buy option, he has the potential to be a bargain signing if he shows the form he had previously in Holland.

We need to have better overall control before the unknown quantity of SVH is slotted in, and for me that means Nunez in for Sargent.
I seriously wouldn’t understand why we signed him if Sargent’s injured and we dont replace him with SVH.
Cardiff are on a poor run and we are at home, the guys match fit and has a great record at arguably a higher level. Play him.

We should win this easily, but then I'm "entitled" and it rankles with me that the Binners are more concerned with the results of the Southampton and Leeds games than we are. It should be the other way around.
Doesn't it you?
If we seriously want to be promotion contenders we simply have to win games like today. I don’t think it’s entitled when you acknowledge that winning today is very much the club’s expectation from their own comms.
QPR was an annoying performance and result, we all saw those subs and negative decisions lose us two points that were there when we needed to continue to establish ourselves in the playoff race, but in context of our overall run it wasn’t the end of the world.
You can’t fail to beat Cardiff in their current form, especially given how much we rely on our home form. That’s not entitled to me, that’s just the obvious conclusion. Is that a lot of pressure? Yes, but that’s what everyone involved with the club is paid for.

43 minutes ago, Feedthewolf said:Just out of interest, if Sarge isn't available today, how would you set the team up? You can't really drop Barnes after a goal and an assist on Tuesday, so I guess it's just hoping that he deems SVH ready for a start. But if he starts with Barnes up top and Sara just behind, I hope we can still just get behind the team.
If SVH wasn’t available to start why did we loan him and let Idah go when our star striker is struggling with injuries?
The guys been playing in a Serie A team, ok he wasn’t getting a lot of minutes but he has been in squads and playing.
He’s been here long enough now, if Wagner doesn’t start him that’s his decision and does question why we replaced Idah with our only signing for me.
I’m assuming it’s a straight swap if Sargents injured personally, that’s what I’d do as I assume that’s why we signed him, and will be surprised if not. The other viable alternative I see is starting Nunez and pushing Sara up to support Barnes which worked from the bench, but I think that still raises questions about why not SVH?

I remember the time it was very uncool to like Sargent on here. When he got good it felt like a coming out party to be able to say you liked him lol
