1. I thought Ashley Young on Sunday was quite funny as the team that taught him to do it was indeed Aston Villa as the commentator pointed out.

If forwards were banned for diving most teams star player would be banned as everyone has one ( tin hat time ) even us lol. The unfortunate thing that stops further action is that for managers and fans alike when it is someone elses team it is cheating, when it is your own team there is either a case that the player did not dive or many a time you hear well x does it all the time. Who has spoken to any Man U supporters who will say Young dived - they all have a different perspective that they were both penalties.

The only way to get action is for people to call their own team players cheats and it aint ever going to happen as I like most others will be screaming at the ref to give a penalty or a freekick even if I know our player dived. And how on earth can you ever proove a player dived ? legally as UEFA found out it is very difficult to brand a player a cheat and not be threatened with all sorts of legal actions.

The Tevez situation on Saturday was a classic example. Most NCFC supporters were calling Tevez a cheat. Had this have been one of our players we would have immediately been advising the ref that he does not know what he is doing.

Diving should be eliminated but it will take somebody brave to openly brand any player a cheat. I wish there was a solution but I fear there wont be for a long time.

  2. Dont quite get the junior one anyway the rules say

The insurer and main club sponsor is seeking fanatic followers for their annual competition to recognise the devotion and dedication of a true Norwich City fan. And for the first time this year it is seeking a junior (under 16-years and above 8 years old) as well as an adult winner.

But one of them is 7 years old.

  3. There was a very good article on this at the beginning of the season by a top ref that had now retired - would post it but cant remember who it was. He confirmed that the smaller club often did not get the decision not because the refs meant this to happen but it was due to elements in the brain. At least it confirms that Liverpool are no longer a big club as they have been getting some real dodgey decisions.

  4. I think Holt will win it by a country mile as what he has done recently is clearly in everyones minds. Personally my vote goes with Ruddy as he has put in the best performance over the whole season rather than just the last few weeks. IMO he has been the most consistent performer for the whole year especially remembering how he got over the Norwich fans giving him some stick when he first came.

  5. I do wonder what Lambert thinks himself about the last few instances - I cant beleive he thinks it acceptable. He was set a target for success simply survival. To all intents and purposes this has been acheived. I would love to know his thoughts as his career would take a downward trend if negative things were being reported, surely booing at the moment in view of where our team is is simply booing Lambert.

If we were in a relegation dogfight and scored against Villa in the last minute to move to 36 points that kept us up everybody would be saying amazing and what a performance over the season. I fear one more outburst from the booers this season will make Lambert seriously consider his position.

So do people have the right to boo our players of course they do - as long as they are confident that what we have built will not be destroyed by their actions. I already sense trouble amongst our own fans if this mindless booing of Morisson continues.

  6. I am with you 100 % LDC re the squad and the players. But do you really think our fans are not creating divisions amongst both players and fans ? Morison scored 6 in 8 and he was being booed the reason apparently he does not work as hard as Grant Holt. I saw a kid last sunday with a Norwich shirt on that had morison 5 on the back. A guy ( about 50 )said to him well that shirt was a waste of money. Our fans must take some of the blame for what has happened to Morison. He played rather well for Wales last Internationals but then the fans love him. Football is a game of opinions personally I think Morison looked like he was destined for the top. I love this club and personally I think that Morison would have become one of our great players. I fear now he is either destined for the could have been great or will become another teams great signing. As I said my problem is not Holt it is the attitude towards all our players other than Holt. In fact that applies to our great manager as well.

Maybe if Holt took over as manager then our whole club could be reunited - JOKE for those who take life seriously

  7. I agree Smooth although I just feel the problem has gone to far and even if Morison played scored a hat trick on Saturday there would be people saying yes but he would not have scored any if Holt had not set him up. Because Morison was lazy he just happened to find himself in the right place whilst others ran around for him. I know I will get stick for this but I fear this whole Holt is the only player worthy thing is destroying our club. The players must be feeling it. I am convinced that people now like Wilbraham because he does not threaten Holt. Please dont think this is a have a go at Holt post it is far from it I just fear that no one will be accepted at our great club whilst we still have Holt here. Thats fine whilst he is scoring but in a couple of seasons time when players question why would we want to move there to get stick ? And that does not say sell Holt it says respect all of our players and support every single one in the same way.

I see on another thread McNally is now tweeting to say stop putting things on message boards so to those who think players / board / staff and even managers dont read or know about what happens on here well it seems they do.

Lambert wanted the whole club to become a united team from supporters through to players and the manager. He always stated if I remember this is a results business and everybody loves me now but get in a bad run people will forget and the minority voices will become louder and want me away. Looks like he really is god even his prophecies. come true

  8.
A question for all those posting on this thread, and other threads about Morison.

For arguments sake, take Morison out of yesterday’s team and replace him with Holt in the same formation….

    1. Would Holt have touched the ball so few times?

    2. Would Holt been got himself as isolated at Morison?

    3. Would Holt have brought team mates into the game?

    4. Would Holt have worked harder than Morison?

    5. If Holt had been having such a bad game as Morrison yesterday would he have not done the basics, and tried to get back into the game?

    6. Would Holt have hidden and not demanded the ball?

    7. Would Holt have wanted more from the players immediately around him?

Yes I know we passed-passed-passed yesterday and the service to Morison wasn’t the best, but I think Holty would have shown more and we have had more options if he’d been on the pitch. Good players demand and get the ball and when they don’t get it they kick up as fuss until they do get it. I didn’t see any of that yesterday from Morison.

I’d like to think that the majority of the answers to Q1 to Q7 would have been “Yes”, apart from Q2. When Wilbraham came on, a player would we rightly or wrongly assume is inferior to Morison and does so many simple things better things than him, we have a right to question Morison’s attitude and application on the pitch.
Would Holt have been booed for not putting in enough effort after he had scored 6 goals in eight games ? Morisons problem was he was not Grant Holt had taken Grant Holts place at the time and was subsequently given stick by some of his own fans. In reality being human I would not want to be where I was not wanted. My crystal ball says after he has gone in the summer next year people will be moaning why did he not do that for us ? just remember he did and was / will never be accepted by a number that attend FCR. As much as I think Morison could of been one of our best buys ever if he wants to progress he will have to leave this club. It has really shown in the last few days Wilbraham scores one goal and is suddenly a hero - Morison with 8 is a disaster.

  9. We sit very close and saw and heard everything. The ball boy could have become a bit of a hero with the fans for what he did ( although he might be in trouble with the club ) so why he sent the text saying he was pushed I really do not know.

Johnson and Morrison were chasing ball. Ball went out of play and went to the ball boy. Ball boy went to immediately throw the ball back, Morrison screamed at him dont give it to him. The ball boy put the ball slightly out towards Johnson and then threw the ball away from the goal and all players behind the advertising board things. Johnson called him a F**** something and went scampering after the ball. When Johnson got the ball understandably not happy ( nor would any player of any club be ) and gestured throwing the ball at him. In fairness to Johnson he had clearly had the red mist descending on him and in reallity did well not to smack the kid one because he had clearly lost it. And when people then started singing at Johnson I thought he was going to come back and take on the whole snake pit.

  10.
Well said, Cluck (liking the new forum name haha) - and another quality post by Robin as always. Wolves are in genuine trouble - we hear every season teams on the slide, be that current or from the off, that they''ve got to battle on and pick up points but you tend to get a good feeling of those teams that just don''t have it in them. Wolves just smack of relegation in my opinion, yes they will battle at Carrow Rd but I honestly feel we could put a few past them, we''ve got what it takes to do that for sure - they appear to be in freefall and I feel they''ll finish bottom of the table - their only hope is Matt Jarvis and not their current manager.

On another note - I am so impressed with Steve Kean, the abuse he has taken, fearing for his own safety at times - he''s starting to stick two fingers up at those who are taking out awful ownership and unfortunate injuries on himself. Think he should be nominated for ''Manager Of The Season'' myself.
It depends wether the Fulham game was a blip in their away performances or where they are now. Prior to that game Wolves were unbeaten in 7 away games. Although a lot of draws where the draws are tells a story. Newcastle D QPR W Spurs D Birmingham D Bolton D Arsenal D

Interestingly since they played us at Molineux and we managed a draw 7 teams have gone to Molineux and all have won.

I just pray that if the Wolves away prior to Fulham turn up and we lose or draw that the boo boys dont start. If they do get ready to put the gear stick back into reverse.

  11. LOL please read the rules on pre contract agreements. I understood Ruddy was being touted as an England goalkeeper. This I assume would make him English in which case even if he had one day left on his contract he would not be able to sign a pre contract agreement with another English club.

I would say however IMO if he was with Man Utd I would not necessarily agree that he would not be first choice. If he was to leave I wonder how many of the people that gave him stick would be saying how unloyal he was to the club by moving lol
I dont really get this thread. Wigan was a category C game and if we did sell out the home areas it was only on the day of the match. Everton is category A over the Easter break and has as good as sold out. In the bigger picture the Wigan game was a bigger game, however should we win our next few this could be for a European place.Clearly Lamberts budget would need to be reduced next year if we follow your principles and make certain sell outs less than maximum price. If you want to watch category c games you need to go when we play the likes of Wigan or is it the opposition you go to watch rather than NCFC
The point is that the club has decided it has three categories of games, in terms of entertainment value. On that basis the 19 games ought to be split up roughly one-third, one third, one third. So, say, seven As, six Bs and six Cs. What, perhaps totally predicatbly, has happened is that as the season has gone on the club has categorised the vast majority of games as A or B and very few (perhaps so far only one?) as C. So Fulham, which by no stretch of the imagination qualifies as a top game, ends up as an A. So the immediate point here is about fairness.

The longer term point is whether this is a sensible policy in terms of increasing support, in a recession, when you have a busines plan based on filling a 35,000-seat stadium for every game.
So why have people bought the tickets for a category A game and not a category C game ? As an average the difference is about £17 per seat. There are about 6600 tickets on sale. Everton was an auto sell out even if you would have added another £5 to the price as was Man U Spurs Arsenal, Newcastle ect as the away supporters alone would have bought the tickets. So for this game you advocate a category C ( or at least get rid of some of the category A''s. This would cost the club around £115000 per game. Glad you dont run my business - client rings up and says I would like to buy all your stock for £1million your reply would be no have it for £660000.

Unfortunately football is not measured in fairness to the supporters anymore it is measured by the supporters in success or failure, there is nothing in the middle. If you want a second rate team I would suggest you start a campaign that says we would rather have savings on tickets and in return we are happy to have a smaller playing budget. Or maybe you think we should spend money we dont have ala Portsmouth. There is yet to be a category A game where the home areas did not sell out, so at a cost of £115000 which games do you think should have been changed to category C ?

By no means is this a have a go at Holt post but Lambert did the same against WBA resting what was at the time his top striker. At different times each have been our top striker, however if we lose Saturday then maybe it is time to switch around again wether that be Morison ( if fit ) or Vaughan or Wibraham ect. If Morison comes back unfortunately I fear sections of the crowd will force him out of the club. To some Holt playing above anything else is far more important than our premier league survival.
The difference is that Holt is better as a team player, better goal scorer, better at creating goals, better all round - imo.   Who would I rather have in the team if both players are slightly off their game?  Holt, because he has that much extra to offer.     As for your last sentence - to my mind, Holt playing is always going to help premier league survival.  Why?  Because he scores goals.  The only reason to drop him would be if he goes off form.

I do think however that we are obviously going to see more of Jackson and  Vaughan so if Holt is playing well, Morison is going to find it hard to get back in the starting 11.      If Holt goes off the boil?    That would give Morison the chance to come in, but at the moment it seems as if Wilbo has the nod over him. Who would have thought that at the start of the season?

Your points are reasonable and I should point out at no point does my post say Holt should not be in at present and in no way the facts I am about to put should be taken as I want Holt out and others in, I am just showing that Holt should not be used to force our future centre forward out of this club as running around everywhere does not neccesarily mean you win.

When Holt has started he has scored 7 goals in 16 games - not a bad premier league return. He has actually scored twice in two games the only 2 games that we have won when he scored when starting. The other 3 games he scored in we have lost 2 and drawn 1. In the other three games where he came on as sub and scored we have drawn 2 and won 1. My point was that somebody like if not Morison is the future of this club. We cannot carry on saying every other forward does not score / puts no effort in /does not play for the team. Like I said I beleive if Morison plays again this season a large element of carrow road will not accept him when based on the points we have accumalated he has been a valuable player with goals responsible for a lot more points.

  15. I see back in the thread op you have given me a bit of a put down. O well why get in the way of facts. The facts show that Morison starting is not necessarily the weakest option. When Holt has started in the premier league we have won 4 games only his record being W 4 D 5 L 7. Morisons starting record sees us at W 6 D 7 L 6. Four of the defeats when Morison started were MU away MC away Ars home Tot home. The other 2 were villa away but importantly Sunderland away which sort of disprooves your thread. The game before was WBA in the cup. Morison was our main striker. He was given a complete rest against WBA, so at that time resting Morison was no different to resting Holt against Leicester. Guess what we lost to Sunderland 3 - 0 so why not say that was because we rested Morison ?

By no means is this a have a go at Holt post but Lambert did the same against WBA resting what was at the time his top striker. At different times each have been our top striker, however if we lose Saturday then maybe it is time to switch around again wether that be Morison ( if fit ) or Vaughan or Wibraham ect. 16. Op this was Lamberts decision and you are stating it could cost us and has messed our season up. Get real or you need to start saying that it is time for Lambert to go. Unfortunately if we lose our next 2 games Lamberts prophercy I beleive - they love me now, but lose 5 games on the trot and they will want me out, we all get to the end of our welcome could become reality.

Please dont destroy what we have just enjoy as comments like yours inside FCR will make Lambert beleive he cannot take us further.
