If anyone had a problem with Cameron when he slotted us in front at Wembley they aren’t a City fan. We are Yellow and Green and I don’t care about any other colour. -
However long you give it badly managed change is seldom good. -
He’s spot on about last season. -
Sad news, but he’s not a quitter and will come back. Nice to see Elliott Bennett keeping in touch. What a class bloke he is - remember him sat with the away fans at Old Trafford when not playing. If Carlton is taking advice from him, he’ll not go far wrong.Good luck lad. -
There should have been some jousting and archery for the peasants. -
Didn’t bother after relegation until a season too late, and only then when no one came in for him. One of the players who shamefully packed in at Brighton. Over rated, and laughable how Martin got pelters but this prima donna becomes a favourite after taking a year off and not bothering.Get rid! -
Came good in the playoffs for us. -
Webber’s signings show no sign of being better than Neils. Maddison is now worth a lot more than we signed him for - I am struggling to think of any of Webber’s signings that have increased in value after a season under Farke.Franke, expensive flop loaned back to Germany as not physical enough, thankfully resulted in the last minute purchase of Big Grant. Watkins cost nothing but now hopeless. Judge Webber on results and league position - poor. He just keeps going on about the mess he inherited, little about the rubbish he is creating. -
Spot on GJL. -
Given our track record of appointing managers, it was highly unlikely we would appoint a decent Sporting Director first time. Are we prepared to write off next season just because Webber needs 4 transfer windows? I so hope he is half as good as he thinks he is, but I don’t see it. -
Results wise I’d love not to play Fulham - but it is a good away day. -
Absolute class - on and off the pitch. Thanks Wes. -
Forget Dack. Blackburn (and Wigan) play attractive attacking football, have momentum, and possibly a better chance of pushing for promotion next season than we do.These clubs are now our rivals, we are unlikely to entice players from these clubs. I think recruits will have to be less obvious and from lower down the league. -
Maddison is irreplaceable - I think we are better trying to play two strikers, a target man, and one playing off him willing to work back. -
Will they be receiving parachute payments in League One? I think this could end up being good for them — as it was for us. -
Surely our biggest concern is that we will lose the footballing genius of Webber. Other clubs must have football experts who can see his plans are sure to come to fruition next season, and will want to poach him and adopt his philosophy. Why wait another 2 transfer windows? -
Colin. He’s a winner. -
Beautiful column.Lost my father-in-law last Wednesday and it was an emotional read.I’m sure your Dad would have been delighted with such a tribute, and incredibly proud of you. -
Bang on about the style of football and this is an appalling run of results. -
Sorry - the penalty at Hull was pathetic and the cowards way of caving to the half time Hull protests. It was petty and vindictive - he’s not strong enough to referee at this level. Warnock will be in his face at half time and Cardiff will get everything after the break. -
If teams stand off us I think we can compete on football terms with the best.Lambert used to say we had to earn the right to play. That remains a concern for this team. The Cardiff game will be interesting, as they are a good traditional style Championship team. Is this squad developing, mentally and physically, into one that is strong enough to win the battles required in this league? -
Great performance - whatever anyone’s views on Webber, Farke, Delia, Bonds and Academies - tonight for once we can all surely give credit where it’s due. Can’t believe anyone can complain about today’s match.Have a Good Evening everyone! -
If the owners aren’t careful I can see him taking them down with him.All this philosophy nonsense - I feel we always had it although we call it history. We play attacking attractive football, we play the game the right way, and we support our team the right way.If he is a Leeds fan, he is probably unaware of our history, some of which us older folk can remember a lot more of.A quick apology, or clarification, from him could stop this quickly, -
When Webber took the job, our average wage was ~28k per week. Webber knew unless we went up in 2018, he''d have to replace the entire playing squad by 2018 (unless he could secure contract extensions on vastly reduced wages). Replace the entire playing squad with no money in the bank, so having to sell to buy.Webber was tasking with finding a manager who could coach and develop players, compete in the Championship, but still have the tactical nous to scale into the Premiership.Looks like fans having added a further criteria of playing like 1970''s Brazil
Not sure about 1970s Brazil, but being competitive with 2018 QPR doesn’t sound unreasonable.
