  1. "Could the Surman transfer rumour be linked to Fer actually staying?"

Why? Surman generally plays on the left side, Fer generally doesn''t (admittedly played there once at WBA last year, from memory). Their styles are also completely different.

I''d have thought Surman''s immediate competition at present are Hoolahan, Pilkington & maybe Howson.

  2. Detailed scouting reports from those in the know.

How twitter transfer speculation takes on meaning in the context of rakish vehicle parking alignments and in-restaurant photos.

Innovative stadium-construction-cum-tertiary-education solutions, based on the Bristol example.

    Feeder club progress updates.

The lack of axes to grind or fetishistic favoritism of specific players, in the face of overwhelming countervailing evidence.

The prevailing sense of moderation, tolerance, calm and integrity.

  3. One or two of our more forthright contributors aside, I had never previously associated Norwich City with SS until now. That is, until I stumbled upon a Wikipedia link to Amelia Earhart (the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic):

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Norwich_City

"Nikumaroro Island is currently being investigated by the The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery (TIGHAR) in hopes of discovering and salvaging the lost wreckage of Amelia Earhart''s Lockheed Electra.[2] TIGHAR believes Earhart may have landed on Nikumaroro. The SS Norwich City wreck was prominent at the time of Earhart''s final flight and radio messages claiming to be from Earhart were allegedly heard following the plane''s disappearance. One such claim was from a young girl who believed she overheard a radio message from Earhart and may have heard Earhart say Norwich City during the supposed transmission."

So unlike Norwich City to be associated with wrecks, disappearances and all-round monumental disasters.
