  1. Just been reading one of the Barnsley forums. Following posts in relation to Cureton - ''Curetons awful, he offers nothing to the team and is quite some way past his prime. He is most certainly not the answer''... ''Not just because of today, but its been blatantly clear for a long time that some of the players arn''t able to compete at Championship level. El Hamouir, Macken, Odejayi, Souza & Cureton are all really, really poor players and need to be shipped on.'' ...''He''s scored 2 good goals, but I''ve been disappointed with the rest of his play. He should have scored today, he had 2 very good chances. '' ....''Cureton clean through but blazed it over. Cureton had some chances that maybe should have put one away, especially one in 1st half. Finds himself in goalscoring positions naturally but didnt score. ''

There was also a funny thread asking if they had the worse strike force in the league!

  2. Saints make us look cash rich. Their wage biil is £12.1m, which is 81% of T/O. Last year they also made a loss of nearly £5M after taking account of a profit on player sales of £9.4M. They also have total laibiliteis of £43M. The best line from thier accounts is ''whilst the Group presently has an overdraft facility, for £4.5m, the Board remain in negotiations with Barclays Bank, who are seeking a progressive reduction in their position, and the loan note holder. These negotiations involve the Group having to achieve further significant asset sales in 2009''.

  3. I live away from Norfolk and must admit the trips to home games are now off the weekend plan. Very, very worried about what next year will bring. Listening to CanaryWorld yesterday even lead me to start painting the house - now that is one job I have been putting off for ages - that is how bad things have got.

  4. Quote from Scotsman paper by Ian Murray

''I felt I had to try it down there or I would be sitting in five or six years wondering ''what if?'' but after Peter Grant left, it was no fun. Playing for Glenn Roeder, it was the first time in my life I felt like chucking it during a game, a lot of the players felt that way. He''s an angry man, not nice to play for.''

Strange, seems Ian found it  fun whilst we were losing week in and week out. However, Roeder arrives things get tough we start winning and Ian wants to start ''chucking it during a game''!! Hopefully the other players who felt the same have now been shipped out.

  5. Summary of all transfers into NCFC and also those currently below us in the table during the Jan window. Wouldn''t want to be a Blackpool, Coventry or Colchester fan at the moment.

  6. How much do you think we will now save in wages till the end of the season following the Roeder clear out and kiddy influx?

I would have thought Brellier, Brown and Strihavka were on decent wages. Average Champ basic wage is £4K per week. Can''t see the two Reading kids being on anything similar. Hopefully this cash will go into the summer transfer pot.
