Makes it obvious its a scummer when they can''t spell. -
Newcastle will get something at Liverpool with the Benitez love in and Stoke are on the beach. We could be marooned by the time we next play. -
What a load of complete and utter bollox. -
Can see us being 4/5 points adrift come Arsenal. Newcastle will get something at Liverpool, with the whole Benitez love-in they still have and nothing to play for, and Sunderland will just bully Arsenal at home then go to a Stoke side on the beach. -
I hate it when people think that the reverse fixture has any bearing whatsoever on the next game. It means nothing. "Oh we drew at home to Arsenal earlier in the season so we are bound to go to the Emirates and get a point".If anything, the better opposition will want to right the wrongs of the previous game against us. -

Talk about tempting fate. -
I''m just full of excitement. I can understand the nerves but how have all the other ''cup finals'' gone under AN? Well we lost against Boro but have won every other one, odds are he''ll get a result again for us here. I genuinely believe we have a very good technical team playing in a league where physicality, pace and boring counter attacking football dominate and outmuscle good sides like us making us look poor and naive when we''re just trying to play good football. I also believe we have the next SAF in charge and I just can''t imagine an Alex Neil team ever getting relegated. His Wenger/Martinez style of management and constant backing/praising of his team may mean we get complacent at times when we''re doing well, but that also means he keeps the players on his side, they love the guy apparently and so we win big games. To be honest, even if we lose I''d back Neil to drag us out of this. He did it after the defeat to ''boro last year. He''s picked the squad up from some poor (and most of the time unlucky as hell) form a few times. We''re staying up and I can''t wait for tomorrow!
Lol -
We also have a very good record against Sunderland at our place. I think Big Sam has been playing the mind games this week publicly, but with AN playing it cool like he did at the PoF in may last year I feel pretty confident. So long as we contain Defoe I think we''ll be fine.
So they''re due one then... -
They''ll never likely be too favourable towards us with their predictions. It''s the way it is and has always been.In fairness a tense, nervous, must win relegation struggle at the dog end of the season might seem to have draw written all over it to the non-partisan.I see it as 40/30/30 in our favour. Sunderland fans would make it closer or even reversed. Pundits might even out a bit.
I see it more 35/30/35. Maybe a notch or two towards us if Klose starts, say 38/28/34. -
Surely AN wouldn''t say he had a chance of he knew he wasn''t going to play for definite. That could deflate the fans by making people think he has a chance to play, for him to not be in the squad at all, would be strange. -
Interesting (term used loosely) to see that the experts that are Mark Lawrenson and Paul Merson both have us down to scrape a draw tomorrow, and Charlie Nicholas has Sunderland to win. Also, Charlie Nicholas has done his relegation prediction and has us to go down with 32 points.I''d rather see these sort of predictions, and would be worried it Lawrenson and Merson thought we''d win, just hope we can prove these ''experts'' wrong. We really need to play with an ''us against the world'' attitude tomorrow, and in the past have played some of our best stuff like this. -
Brunch? Really? -
Borini isn''t rubbish at all. And in recent weeks they have looked their most threatening on the break. -
A bit of relief from the nervous tension around tomorrow. Watching the Dortmund game last night I was struck by how different it was for me watching a team play in yellow and black to one in yellow and green. Now I love our colours and they are distinctive, but I thought that Dortmund''s looked a bit harder edged- the black and yellow combo a little more threatening than yellow and green: wasps or bees rather than Canaries. I''m not suggesting that we change for good, far from it as I have many happy memories over the years of glorious yellow and green experiences, but it struck me that it would be interesting if one year we did do black with the yellow just as an experiment. I am of course a heretic, a binner and so on, but let''s take that as read and just see what anyone''s articulate thoughts might be.
Are you ok? -
Lol yeah same as Morty. I saw a couple of young lads on Twitter put something about it, so obviously nothing. Why do something like that which will only spur Sunderland on. Just leave the atmosphere to inside the stadium, like the Newcastle game. -
Every day there seems to be a new statement from him. In comparison to AN, who has said very little. Today, Big Sam has said he hopes Sunderland will take note of how Atleti play, so we could be in for a real tough game if that''s the case!Hopefully it all comes back on him, he''s certainly been gobbing off, whether it be mind games or whatever. -
"The thought of Bassong up against Defoe scares me..."It''s not just me then... -
But then if you have a referee who supports Man United for example, but wants to referee in the Premiership and do the best they can in their job, then they''ll just lie and not disclose the fact they support said team. -
Interesting that they seem to be doing the same as Newcastle were, doing all their talking before the game. There is no onus on us whatsoever. They are the team 4 points adrift so we will play our own game. -
Ffs he''s shoite. -
What if Newcastle stay up? -
I think it''s unlikely the club will let us no too much information before Saturday on his condition, purely on tactical reasons to keep a question mark on sunderlands preparations. But I''m going to throw it out there that no news could be better news... I think him unlikely for this weekend, but the fact he hasn''t been ruled out for 6 or whatever straight away (like Tetty) suggests that there hopefully is a chance this could be a medium to short term issue.
I was thinking the longer we don''t hear anything, the worse the injury might be! Lol, but who knows. Either way can''t see him playing Saturday.I think it''s hard to compare this game to the one at the start of the season at SoL. They were a completely different outfit under Advocaat, and now have a fair bit of fight and resilience under Allardyce, as well as some decent signings in January in Kone, Kirchoff, Khazri etc. -
Norwich being Norwich I''d rather us play a team that''s won their last 10 than a team that hasn''t won in 6.
Fight for survival.
