  1. With attendances rapidly reducing throughout the leagues at an alarming rate, I think this would just damage them even more. A comfortable mid table team could find themselves being relegated to even things out. We were/ are lucky to have a large area to draw from, if we''d been a London club and suffered relegation into league one we would probably seen our crowds halved. Clubs lower down the leagues need more games to survive cutting them will cut revenue and a lot more clubs will struggle to survive. I''ve been to a number of lower league games this season and am surprised at how much people have to pay for a ticket. I have approached people at these clubs and asked why, they all say they have to charge so much to make ends meet. Most have tried dropping the prices to entice more people and this usually works for a game or two and then crowds go back to normal. The Premier league and TV have a lot to answer for. A kid growing up around Crawley for example watches Premier League football on the TV rather than watch their local team, because of the price of tickets and the accessibility of games on TV. When sky first came about we had Super Sunday and Monday night football(remember all the fireworks and dancing girls) now we have football available almost every night of the week with two or three games on Saturday and Sunday. TV money needs to filter down to the lower leagues, if we must have so much football on TV pick one game from each league rather than them all coming from PL and pay the clubs accordingly.

  2. Spending cash and attracting big name players does not 100% guarantee premiership football, just look at Sunderland & Newcastle both have big name managers and have had for years Newcastle have spent mega money and at least one of them(although I still beleive both of them) will be playing Championship football next season. I would much rather take the Conservative approach and guarantee the survival of Norwich City Football Club. As for our Chairman macro or micro managing our CEO I beg to differ Ed Balls is in it for what he can get out of it, as any other politician would be. He screwed the country i just hope he doesnt screw our club.

  3. Brady was sick and had to come off, he had a bug!! Although I though he and Wisdom had played well. Bassong was awful, not sure of the situation with Russ, but I would have gone with Martin at right back and played Wisdom alongside Bennett in the middle...(tin hat goes on head)

  4. Ok so some on here may label me insane! Whilst I dont buy into the whole "keep the faith" campaign as I think its been done to death by other clubs and makes us look kind of tin pot. I refuse to believe we are relegated until its mathematical impossible for us to survive. Norwich City is my team always has been always will be I will do or die for my club, I have supported them no matter what. I will get behind the team on Saturday just like always do. People on here talking about how this is the worst Norwich team ever, how they have no fight or desire to win and how AN is out of his depth, these people cannot of lived through the days of Rioch, Hamilton, Megson, Roeder or Grant''s reign. We are IMO are far cry from those days. While we still have a fighting chance lets get behind the manager, team and club there will be plenty of time to pick over the bones during the summer!!!!

  5. Ok so we as Norwich supporters know our weaknesses, this year in this league is very much a learning curve for our Manager we will have ups and downs no doubt. I believe we have a manager who will be able to keep us in this league and will go on to be one of the Premier league greats. I think Liverpool fans should be more concerned about todays game than us, as a well established premier league teams and a team that should be challenging for titles and trophies, they have conceded 4 goals against one of the weakest attacking teams in the league and have just scrapped a win handed to them pretty much by our mistakes. I for one am very hopeful for our future.

  6. Arsenal after the 4-3 loss in 89. Its a Day I will never forget, Norwich leading 2-0 and crusing George Tyson was the referee and we moan about refs today it was the worst refereeing display I have ever seen, I dont recall him ever being allowed to referee a game since that day. 21 players fighting and all throughout the game us Norwich fans were told we would receive an police escort from the ground back to our coaches did we....did we hell they escorted us towards the Highbury tube station and then just decided to abandon us. I cant stand Arsenal, although I must say The Emirates is I beleieve the best stadium in the country at present.

  7. Better performance today from Ruddy. I have to say I fully support AN with his selection of Ruddy. I''m not sure what kind of message dropping your number one goal keeper sends out tbh. Isn''t it a coincidence that Laura Ruddy and his daughter were at the game today for the first time in a while. He has found himself in the middle of an enormous personal stressful situation(one of his own doing I might add) but hopefully for his sake, his families sake and the sake of NCFC they can sort the situation out. As one who has been in his situation I can empathise with him and I know how much it affected my work. Lets hope this is the beginning of the end.

  8. I went to Anfield and saw the way they are construting there increase in capacity for the main stand while the ground operates as normal. Several years ago the pitch at CR was moved towards the Jarrold and if need be could be moved even further. I see no reason why capacity would need to be reduced or GW season ticket holders moved, when we could do exactly as Liverpool have and build behind and up. Is there any need to actually keep the road, we have good access from either end and if need be we could keep an access tunnel. IMO the hotel area should be re-developed before we tackle anything else its such a waste of useful space.

  9. Ok so Wet Spam arevoff to the Olympic Park, it struck me, that whilst this will probably be a good move for them as in increased capacity and better facilities. What about thos businesses around Upton Park that have probably only managed to stay afloat because of 20k+ people being in that vicinity every match day. Take Norwich for example say we were to move from FCR out to UEA or Broadland Business Park, what would happen to the likes of the Mustard Pot(Fat Cat & Canary) or The Complete Angler. Are these places compensated for loss of business. Norwich is not on the scale of say Arsenal, West Ham, Man City in view of businesses around the ground...sorry for rambling just asking the question.

  10. You all must have missed those kicks he sliced into the Jarrold during the first half then. I''m a big fan of a short goal kick and playing out from the back, it draws the opposition onto you and leaves gaps in their defence. I''ve always gotten my teams to play this way it encourages kids to get the ball down and play keep ball, I cant see the point in hoofing it forward to their centre half to win it, especially with playing just one up front. I cannot remember the last time I saw Joe Hart launch a goal kick.

  11. Whilst in general I''m always thankful of living in Norfolk I have to disagree slightly. Yes the area around the ground is run down and generally poor and the ground itself is not the best. My Daughter and I had a lovely day in the City of Liverpool, the docks, the tate, the shops were a surprise, the people were warm and friendly. This was my first visit to Liverpool as a City normally I am straight to Anfield or Goodison and as a result had a similar view of you of Liverpool, but walking around found some surprising architecture and as a result I shall be taking the wife for a long weekend asap. Sometimes it pays to step out of the football mode and take a walk further afield.
