Yup top signing it seems. I would say the first decent signing in two seasons by Webber, but happy to give him credit when he deserves it. I'm not so sure about Sara but I hope im wrong. 8m seems to be a very unlucky number for us when buying players.

So if Gibbs, Sargent, Dowell and Sinani keep doing the business will you revise that opinion? Even the rise of Omo, Rowe, Tomkinson etc are largely down to the focus on youth development and training facilities that Webber implemented.

He has a 5 year contract. If he has a great season in Holland, and we get promoted, he’ll be a player we couldn’t afford if we were trying to buy him.

Exactly what I was about to post. Sinani scored 2, assisted 1 and hit the bar with an excellent chip against championship opposition the other night. He needed a loan to find his feet. If Tzolis needs it too then it's an excellent decision and we have 4 more years of him.

Stevenage match 4 years ago was under 12,000. The most recent comparator for the First Round of this competition.

Huge difference in pulling power between Stevenage and Birmingham. But 12k against very small opposition is still way better than most clubs.

  4. Why is it out of line? We're normally amongst the biggest attendances in the early stages of the cup and normally approaching 20,000. Most likely because it's one of very few occasions when families and groups of friends can actually buy tickets together.

  5. I saw a ticket/season ticket price comparison chart a few months ago and that certainly puts things into perspective. If we had a 40k stadium with £250 season tickets and £20 casual tickets plus offers for less glamorous games I think we'd be up over 35k too....

Im not. No problem with Smith. He is a ok manager. Think we will go up this season

Im youst amazed over Knutsen . So this was more a difence over his work this season.

And its truly great to be a Bodø supporter with Knuten there.

Do you live up that way? I've been to Bodo 3 times to go over to the Lofotens. Love that area.

  7. Think it was Bailey who said bigger clubs were interested in poaching several of our youngsters but they think they'll get more opportunities here. Given how few youngsters at top clubs actually break through into the first team it wouldn't surprise me if intelligent and well advised young players prefer being a bigger fish in a smaller pond, therefore progressing quicker. In some ways the club has a delicate balancing act in that we need quite regular breakthroughs to show the other youngsters what's possible, which can lead to players being pushed on too quickly.

Rubbish. We are still in free fall and lacking sound investment the minute parachute payments dry up

Lol. Ask an 1p5wich, Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday or Portsmouth fan the definitionof "freefall". My statement is factually accurate in every way: smart training facilities paid for, money to spend with no need to sell, no debt, young players turning down bigger clubs to sign for us (according to Bailey) and many looking good (Rowe, Omabamadele, Springett, Tomkinson etc), big squad without crippling wages etc.

  9. There's nothing Smith said today to suggest that Huddersfield don't have a buy option. He literally said we have to wait on their decision. Having seen him a few times I think more than anything it shows just how average the championship is that he can be a regular in a team finishing third. He's ok and at 24 could improve but even the fans and local press are unsure whether he's worth £800k.

What on earth is 'my lot'? You just can't help yourself.. I have no association with the Delia protests nor am I member of any of these Facebook groups, nor would I ever condone anything you have posted - but thanks.

I'm just not a sanctimonious ars3 who'd rather have a pop at posters on here to feel good about himself than actually blame the mindless individuals for their twatty actions.

Our mustelid friend has already proven on other topics he's basically a narcissistic authoritarian who will happily make stuff up to try and smear anyone who disagrees with his morally righteous self aggrandisement. Quite amusing to see people realising his true colours.

The location is for young players but it’s actually a selling point for family men. Plenty of players have mentioned the area, schools etc as a selling point. Huckerby especially.

I think increasingly it's an attraction for young players with the right attitude as well. I've seen several quoted saying "I can get my head down and focus on my game here", and several of our under 23's turned down bigger clubs apparently.

    No idea!

But there were literally dozens of available seats in block E of the Barclay, some in quite sizeable banks. The non-attending STH part is valid, perhaps the buy back scheme needs to be a bit more lucrative/attractive? It stands to reason that if an STH can’t attend this season then being bottom of the league and playing Burnley at home on a Sunday afternoon isn’t the easiest ticket to give away I suppose😂

Maybe the non-renewals have jacked it in early?🤷🏻‍♂️

Admittedly a few seasons ago but I was told by someone close to the ticket office that the Barclay and Snakepit were almost 100% season tickets. I believe the club don't do buy back if there are non restricted view seats available so I assume that the ones Burnley returned sold fairly slowly and few people were able to do it.

I guess nobody really knows how supporting culture will change with a significant increase in capacity, but there are plenty of ways to fill seats: expanded away allocation, expanded family area, ticket offers, advertising campaigns etc.

One big decision for Saturday is it Byram or Aarons. In a receent encounter with Brentford the commentator said that Brentfford had been told to launch high balls to the far post to test Aarons lack of height. This is not a knock at Aarons but just a preference for Byram for this particular game.

I will seriously start to doubt Smith if Gilmour starts Saturday and Byram doesn't. Byram is taller, more physical and experienced than Aarons. We need these experienced leaders right now.

Why is it being taken as a given we only have an option to buy if we stay up? That has never been stated anywhere. In my view, if we can then we should exercise the option regardless of which division we are in assuming the fee is not too excessive and he stays injury free for the rest of the season. He’s a top quality, international player and you should take any opportunity you can to acquire them.

It's interesting that the the money we should receive for Cantwell seems to be exactly what we would need to shell out for Normann. I think it's fairly obvious who we (and Webber) would  rather have.  However I find it hard to believe that the player wouldn't have some kind of release option if we went down. From his perspective, would you sign something that committed you to playing in the Championship even if you'd torn up the Prem?
