  1. Ummm we've just had 2 scorers from the academy, 2 others who played well and Gibbs (who everyone knows is going to be a player) on the bench. Mumba is a good player but the ones playing instead are as good if not better.

South H has been on general sale for home games this season and is almost sold out for today.  That's just over 1,000 seats.  A chunk of G went on sale a few days ago for today, maybe another 600 (with some home/away fan gap rows) and it is sold out for today now - right next to what's going to be a super poor away support only in F block.  Maybe these groups of mates that are apparently out there have bought lots of them.

And often that block is one of the most raucous in the ground. But it'sstill limited- you all have to be ok with sitting in that part of the ground, you have to be aware that those seats have gone on sale and one of you has to be organised enough to corral  membership numbers/finances etc. That's if they haven't sold out by then. Casual fans are just that. Casual. If you've tried multiple times in the past only to be told it's sold out, you  can all sit together behind a pillar or split into ones and twos , or you pay £40 to go to find yourselves surrounded by old farts moaning about the latest scapegoat people tend to drift away. For the Millwall home game 5 of us bought tickets on the back row of the "Community Corner" only for the stewards to spend half of the game telling us to sit down because "if we let you stand, everyone else will ". Suffice to say several of the group haven't been urgently trying to go again. It's telling that grounds that still have an intimidating atmosphere such as Sheffield United and Millwall rarely sell out meaning it's incredibly straightforward to buy large groups of tickets right up until kick off.

Agree about stadium expansion but that's got precious little to do with the current flat atmosphere. Carrow Road was identical to now as far as the ground is concerned a few years back when fans raised the roof at a number of matches in Farkes promotion season (first one) and in the first PL season.

I was away from the UK for 5 years and having returned a year ago I've been genuinely shocked how much CR has changed. Grey and bald heads everywhere and even in the Lower Barclay you feel like an idiot letting rip in support of the team (outside the block of 300 or so who actually do it). To me it's been a process but eventually a tipping point is reached in which quiet/bored/moany is the default setting and more "lively" people don't want to be a part of it.

  4. The club desperately needs stadium expansion so groups of (particularly young) mates can buy tickets together in a part of the ground they are not going to be treated like escapees from a lunatic asylum for supporting the team. The vast majority of our regular support are aging and go largely out of habit. I get Wagner's attempts but realistically it'snot going to work.

This is the link showing the polygons.  Each polygon is taken from the mid-point between each league club - i.e. Norwich's polygon is made up from lines joining the midpoint from Norwich-Peterborough, Norwich-Cambridge and Norwich-Ipswich.

If you don't like it, don't shoot the messenger!

Thanks for that. Obvious issue with this is "League club" is a very broad term. I doubt whether Cambridge and Peterborough draw much from the West of our polygon, whereas a club like Watford would lose absolutely loads to the London clubs.

Whilst S&J have consistently said they aren't doing it for money it would still be very strange to effectively hand over a huge sum of money to a total stranger. I would therefore guess that this is one of a series of pre-arranged transactions and is possibly designed to dig the club out of a hole.  There also seems to be a bit of a firesale of fringe players at the moment which may just be common sense and a new manager, but may also point to an underlying financial problem.

I certainly wouldn't assume that Anastasio is going to take up the whole share issue but we will obviously find out in time.

Could it be that the club banked on selling Aarons by now and that not happening has hastened "plan B"?

I love this type of totally ridiculous reactionary threads.

A year ago Idah was frightening good premier league defences. Since then he basically been injured for a year let’s write him off 60 minutes ish into his comeback.

A better question would be why when we are struggling to link midfield and attack do we not bring on either Nunez or Dowell

Indeed. Also funny how Morris has become the new Ronaldo when he was still on our books at 24 and virtually everyone was saying "why the hell are we still paying his wages?". Morris is actually a good example of players needing patience, an injury free run and regularly playing in a team which suits their style. All things which can be applied to Idah.

  8. Honestly think that the best thing would be press forward with stadium redevelopment to shake everything up. The club needs new blood in the stands and people to be able to buy blocks of seats to sit in groups with their mates again. Unfortunately the last set of accounts make this scenario unlikely.

  9. I think if we go we will offer him a very generous 2 year contract. He's the kind of guy who can play every game and never get injured- I personally think he will age very slowly. Even if we spend good money on another striker, Pukki is such an intelligent player he will be useful even from the bench. If he refuses a contract and fancies pastures new he will leave with praise and thanks ringing in his ears.

West brom are 21st in the table, we made them look like Barcelona in prime, we were that bad.

Brom have the highest number of shots in the division and lost the same number of games as us. Generally been regarded as unlucky not to turn draws in to wins.

Well we certainly aren't playing to our potential, that's for sure.

We're much better, on paper, than every side we've played this season but have made really hard work of it at times. In the last two games we've been poor for the first hour and against Sunderland we were second best. But as you say, our strength off the bench is immense and that is what has got us out of jail.

I'll give you Sunderland. But then set that against Cardiff, Wigan and Hull where we were all over them, they scored from lucky deflections and we should've had several penalties.

I suppose if you do want to be a negative Nancy, we're playing poorly and scraping wins but haven't played a top team yet, and by that I mean one of the sides who are expected to be chasing automatic promotion.

But still, we've got points on the board, and we haven't really come close to hitting top gear yet.

We're not playing poorly. We're playing against teams who have little interest in doing anything other than defend and hope to nick a goal on the break. Most of the goals conceded have either been silly lapses in concentration or just ridiculous bad luck like the Brum goal today (cross comes off someone's knee and lands on the toe of the only player Brum have in the box). We always look likely to nick a goal and have quality, dangerous subs to bring on.
