  1. I think he did well yesterday.

But it was a strange decision to play him directly against one of the best players in the division at the moment and Stacy was the last of the players I would’ve wanted us to drop.

If however we can get a new manager in who can not only introduce players like Fisher and Warner into the first team but also develop them maybe there’s a chance we could all start to love the team again.

  2. Let’s hope so BUT he has a couple of jobs to do before he goes

    • needs to sack his mate Wagner and confirm caretaker manager so that isn’t on the new guy
    • Persuade his wife to leave so there is no more of the Webber stench at the club (that may be unfair on her but the reality is that her husband has ruined this clubs best chances to probably ever be a established premier league club again so her position is untenable)

The most annoying thing is how the first goal was so unnecessary and self-inflicted - we had the ball on the touchline in their half but, as all too often at the moment, rather than go forward, we passed back into trouble and within a moment had conceded.  I’m all for good build up play, but it really doesn’t have to be quite so pedestrian and predictable. Maybe the first thought should be to play forward rather than back?  My old footy teacher always said ‘if in doubt play it forward’.

Interestingly I distinctly remember Wagner saying when he arrived he wanted to play from the back but that that it should be with a first thought of forward passing…he seems to have really lost his way

Ah yeah to be fair, that's not a bad shout... Narcis Pelach.

Can't see Webber pulling the trigger though, Wagner's his appointment and his mate.

I think the timing is perfect for this.

Webber could actually do something decent again and take the decision to sack Wagner and admit to his mistake and take the flak for it,

Pelach can then have until December as caretaker, if he’s brilliant and turns it around he gets the job.
if not, the new sporting director gets to appoint his own man with the January window ahead.

  5. What is it they say about insanity being doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results?

Honestly, what will it take for Wagner to realise that:

the defence needs changing (even just to freshen it up)

Mclean and Sara are not a good enough shield for the defence

Sara needs pushing up the pitch

Idah will never be good enough

only consolation no springett but even then dropping him from the entire squad after putting him on first at the weekend seems bizarre.

    I despair!

Agree what you say re Idah, he strikes me that he is a "confidence player" that is low on confidence at the moment and maybe trying that bit too hard, for his sake I hope he tucks one away soon and get his confidence back............

I honestly think we need to move on from this 'confidence player' view point... I hoped that was the case but let's be honest he just isnt very good!

The only way he may gain confidence is if he drops down a league or even two. Maybe then he will be a decent goal scorer and he could end up blooming like Morris at Luton. But whilst he is playing for us all he is going to show week after week is that he isnt up to Championship level. Saturday was a good example, yes he did the odd decent thing but I dont think he really troubled their defence that much. Most importantly when he got the chance to put the ball in the net he missed an almost open goal. Yes, it would've been ruled out for offside but the reason he missed wasn't due that or a lack of confidence, it's because he isnt a very good striker.

If Wagner is going to improve our performance then I'm afraid that Idah has been given the chance and now needs to be dropped.

  7. I think the only person who could explain this is Wagner - did the pink un reporters put this direct question to him?

The only other person who would agree it was the right decision would be Springett's mum (but even she wouldnt believe it in her heart of hearts!)

Yeah. What is it with all this Sporting Director nonsense? He's a manager a very, very good one at that.

Can we have James Maddison back as a physio?

He’s stated that it is something he would like to do

  9. Class is exactly the word I would use for him.

also seems to be a genuinely nice guy who loved this club (although Cantwell, leitner and Oliveira may not agree!).

I thought him going to Leeds would put me off him, sadly the man crush is still there.

I still live in hope one day he may come back as sporting director

I acknowledge we aren't special but then neither is most of this league. Last season I'd argue only Burnley were special. You don't have to have a special side to get out of this division.

I’d agree and actually you only need one or two exceptional players to be fighting for promotion.

we proved that ourselves when we had a relatively decent team bolstered by skipp and Emi. Coventry were the same last season (the striker and midfielder…can’t remember their names !)

one of the most frustrating things about this year is we DO have those stars in Rowe and Sara. But sadly it is growing more obvious with every game that the manager can’t build the necessary supporting team and structure around them. I think we have enough decent championship players to actually achieve at least the play offs

He should've been gone the second he handed in his notice, allowing him and Wagner to do the transfer deals was shocking. I'd have more sympathy if the business done had been like every other window under Webber, where we often signed young talent. Instead we stocked the squad with 30+ players on big contracts which cover their decline years. I'd love to know what Knapper thought of the squad when he first became interested in the role vs what he thinks of it now.

Let’s be honest it’s a huge step up for him, expect he is just delighted to have been given the chance.

Not sure if that’s good news for us though, don’t feel like we are in a position to be taken a gamble on someone so inexperienced

Correct. Mind you he didn't know that when he fluffed the chance. Pity as I thought he otherwise had a very decent game and should never have been benched.

Fact he didn’t finish it tells you all you need to know.

i thought he was useless again and didn’t cause them any problems, which is the least a striker should do.
sooner we admit he is rubbish and drop him from the squad the better
