1. As an armchair supporter ;) i dont go to many home games (mainly due to distance and fact i coach a girls team who play on saturdays) but i am planning on taking advantage of the Wigan game decent prices.

I have historically sat in Barclay but believe it is sold out and also not convinced very kid friendly.

which other stand would people recommend (children are 10 and 6) - do want somewhere with some atmosphere but not where i spend half my time covering their ears ;)

    cheers

  2.
A win against Arsenal and a good point against a Villa side who shut up shop for 40 minutes of the game.  Attacked all game, Tettey allowed Wes to roam, we created a ton of chances that on another day we would have converted.Reality check over, back to the normal whingefest.
Great post.

Are people forgetting we lost this game last season and then we had the MESSIAH Lambert and apparently all those defenders who never made a mistake unlike Turner

  3. really cant believe some of the over the top negative comments here.

Villa are very poor, but we dominated all the game and their keeper made some very good crucial saves.

Also those slagging off Turner, yes he was at fault for goal but it was a great equaliser and he made a great tackle to prevent a one on one early in 2nd half

Suggest some of you should listen to pundits on sky who are saying we were by far the better team And played well (and were meant to be the ones supporting the team!)

  4. One of my favourite goals was Marc Libra on his debut against Man City at home.

It was just about his first touch where he lifted the ball over his shoulder, turned and then hit it on the volley in to the back of the net (or at least thats my hazy recollection!!)

Really thought it was the start of something special

Was particularly important from a personal level as I was sat in the stands next to my Man City supporting brother!

  5. I would be amazed if we actually end up having a choice between Michael Owen and Defoe!!!

Would love Defoe and would not be opposed to Owen provided payment terms are right.

Whilst I admire and continue to support the young and hungry philosophy the club has adopted I do feel we could do with that little bit of pure quality and unforunately this is more likely to come from a loan signing or someone who has an element of risk.

It could pay off whilst we continue to develop the likes of Vaughan, Jackson and Morrison alongside them

  6. Couldnt agree more with the OP

McNally is useless - what happened to that fantastic Neil Doncaster chap we had, he was brilliant always responding to fans emails directly instead of wasting time negotiating contracts for players and sorting out the financial needs of the club.

To see the extent of his loss to this club you only need to look at the wonderful job he has done in taking the SPL from strenght to strength

    McNally out ;)

  7. As already stated cant see this happening at all.

At the game at Villa park I thought he was the one real quality player which seperated Villa from us in that game (although obviously over the course of the season we proved we were the better team!!!). I have a feeling Lambert will bring out the best in him and he will be back in England set up soon

  8. Despite the Ipsh** connection I wouldnt be opposed to have him here as he clearly had a lot of potential at one point.

BUT would want it to be a permanent signing and not on loan. No point in getting him on loan for a year, if he did fulfill his potential with us then we would end up not being able to afford him (and make a shed load of cash for Sunderland having seen his stock rise again) and then having to try to replace him in the squad.

This is kind of the position we are in with Naughton (but contradicting myself, was still pleased he was here last year!)

  9. This is absolutely brilliant news, I am chuffed to bits.

Fact is that Holt is a talisman and a leader for our club and thats been almost as important as his goals over last 3 years.

Guy is a legend to me and my kids!

One thing that I would say however is that we still need at least one more striker now- and a quality one at that. This whole episode has kind of shown how exposed we were if Holt did leave. We now need to get in a top quality striker who can challenge Holt week in week out for his starting position. This will mean that when he does go or if he throws  his toys out the pram again (as he and his agent sadly did here) that we have a ready made replacement to step up.

Now obviously this still could be Morison or Vaughan but for me we still need another to challenge as the first name of the team sheet striker.

But hell, for now lets just again start fing loveing Grant Holt :)

  10. Probably have no right to comment as unfortunately as I dont live in the area I only go to a few home games a year but must admit I like the music and I think it helps to prolong the goal celebration.

Most importantly from a personal perspective it has now become a sound that me and my kids assosciate with Norwich success. I cant count the number of times over the past few years we have had this blasting out at full volume as me and the kids dance around like idiots celebrating an important win.

As said, however may be if I heard it every week I would be sick of it (although that would at least imply the team is doing well and scoring lots of goals!)

  11. I dont think there is any doubt Lambert would have been "assured" a large transfer budget and you would expect it must have been larger than we proposed.

However, as I''m sure we all know, hearing one thing in an "interview" or from a new employer can be very different to the reality of the situation.

One thing I am pretty sure of is that if Lambert has in someway been duped by Villa and the transfer funds are not made available he will be out of there quicker than you can say "its amazing what weve achieved over the past 3 weeks!!"

  12. For me I think we now have the best opportunity to resolve this matter and hopefully keep Holt.

Hughton can now speak to Holt and (unfortunately) his agent and address what ever the problem is and hopefully reach an agreement. The fact that Houghton is a "new party" to discussions will allow both Holt and McNally to move on their positions without losing face i.e. McNally can justify on the basis that he wanted to be as flexible as possilbe to assist the new Manager and Holt can be flexible on the basis he liked what Hughton said and was keen to work with him.

Potentially  a win/win and despite current feelings I am sure the majority of fans will be pleased if Holt stays and the remaining will forget about it once a couple of goals go in.

If this doesnt happen then we will have to move on and go again ;) with a new striker!

  13. Apologies if I''ve got this wrong but sure I read before yesterdays game that we had not won a Permier league game on a Sunday?

If so again another ghost laid to bed by Lambert and the team. Also worth noting another clean sheet and with no Whitbread so overall a great end to what has been a fantastic season. One which has made me very proud to be a Norwich fan

Also apologies for starting a thread highlighting something else which is a positive rather than spending my time just focusing on if he or wont he leave ;)
