  1. I don’t get the call for Robbins, I know he has done well at lower leagues and Coventry flying at moment but there is nothing to suggest he would be a better premier league manager than Farke.

Surely given the nature of today’s news it is someone with top league experience and will justify the heartless way it has been done

  2. Completely gutted and disgusted with 5he way this has been done.

Gave me some of the best football memories of my life and some of the most beautiful football I’ve ever seen us play.

deserved better than this, just can’t see what the club was thinking. Going after Leeds or Chelsea would’ve been understandable, after today’s win just seems really really poor

Todd even at 95 % fit  on the bench for the  last 15 mins might unlock a tight  0-0

A under pressure Manager would try anything for a win

Farke is acting a bit like he thinks he is un sackable

Or alternatively he knows that if he lets Todd ‘get away’ with whatever he is doing he will lose the respect of all the other players and the management team.

    just an alternative view

I think Todd is a great player and desperately want him back in the team, the most annoying thing for me is all the smokes and mirrors and why the club haven’t clearly stated what is happening.

I am actually getting bit sad and even annoyed of constant negative talk about McLean that seems to be so popular these days. Sure he has made some mistakes, but he is not the only one. He is hard working and doing everything for the team out there. In Leeds match he was also pretty active offensively as well. In addition he is capable on pulling key passes and creating scoring chances every now and then.

He is playing for reason and is a warrior that this team needs now. I'd rather praise what he gives to the team instead of constantly putting him down.

Must admit I’m not a fan of McLean .

But this season it isn’t even about the stupid mistakes he’s made. It’s the fact he hasn’t been anything like a warrior and hardworking. He’s gone totally missing in lots of games to the point I’ve forgotten he is even in the pitch.
previously he at least had the energy and effort to almost justify his place but this year he’s just been woeful I’m afraid.

And honestly I’d have loved it if he’d proven me wrong this year and could have formed a solid midfield with Norman

No square pegs in round holes...none of that nonsense selection we saw on sunday.

    Best players in each position...

                       Krul

    Aarons Hanley Kabak Williams

            Normann    Lees-Melou

                       Gilmour

    Rashica      Pukki       Cantwell

....should have played this side vs Leeds and I believe we certainly wouldnt have lost and would given ourselves a chance to win

That’s what I’d go with but might need to be Tzolis if Todd is still on naughty step.

go 2-0 up and then Rupp and Sorensen on to keep it tight

And now they are bound to pay even less for him. Well done Farke.

As was said above, a good manager gets the best out of his players. Clearly Farke isn’t doing that.

Accusing Cantwell for lack of professionalism and calling him a snowflake is a bit much. Especially as the only reason we have to question his professionalism is what Farke has said about him.

A great manager would never throw his own player under the bus like that, publicly. Sir Alex would never have done that. For me that just shows how useless Farke is at man management.

My memory may be wrong on this but pretty sure Sir Alex did throw Beckham under a bus once and sure there were a few other occasions where he blatantly did it to other players (he also did it to Moyes when he took over from him)

For me, there is a sense that most of the players feel unhappy, and something is wrong behind the scenes. Is it more than a bunch of new players feeling they made the wrong decision to come here? Has Farke 'lost the dressing room'? Or are there two camps: one pro-Farke and one pro-Cantwell? Is that why Sargent and McLean get to play even when they have been very poor, while other players seem to be frozen out? Just a thought - I have no evidence to support this. But what does seem clear is that the genuine emotional closeness of the two promotion seasons has gone entirely. This does not seem like a happy squad. Tettey, Hugill, Hernandez, Vrançic may not have given much to the team on the pitch last season, but their influence off the pitch is badly missed.

This is actually a fair point.

Not sure it is a Cantwell/Farke split but there does seem to be a loss of the camaraderie and team spirit that has been so crucial to us over the last few years. There doesnt seem to be any chemistry between any of the new players. Not sure if this is due to something behind the scenes or just that the start has been so poor, the team keeps changing and no one knows if they are going to be playing (other than McLean -where instead he must be asking WHY am I still playing!).

That team spirit and bond and love for the club seemed to come direct from Farke and his relationship with the players and the club.. now we've lost that all our weaknesses are being brutally exposed.

  8. It is all a bit strange and I don’t see why we can’t just get an honest answer from the club and player. If it is mental health or family issues then sure we would all (or at least most) be understanding and sympathetic.

I appreciate it is difficult with ‘personal reasons’ but I can’t see how all the ambiguity will be helping Cantwell or anyone else involved.

Such a shame because as today’s weird team selection shows…we could really do with Todd on the pitch and performing at his best (which in my opinion is definitely premier league standard)

  9. I suppose that at least he’s going for it! But does seem he has either lost the plot or just taking the chance that has to try something different or he loses his job.

Like others the persistence with McLean is the thing that annoys me….but guess this has to be the game where he demonstrates he can bring something even if it is just energy and experience.

Still have fingers and everything else crossed for Farke’s sake

  10. Tend to agree he isn’t a premier league starter but probably a squad player and would be very decent in the championship. Most worrying thing is that he’s probably been the best and most consistent of all our new signings bar Norman…which explains why we have been so rubbish this season.

McLean is one of my least favourite players but I recognise he has done a good job for us in championship but he has been absolute garbage this year and I can not understand how he has been selected every game…another reason why we are struggling so bad.

  11. I think the point is that something needs to change. We are stuck in a rut with a horrendous run of results, a team which seems disjointed and unmotivated, or most expensive signings ever sitting on bench.

We can’t change players until January and seriously doubt we have the money to afford the type of players who could make that big a difference.

Sacking Webber won’t change the team immediately.

Can’t change owners without a new buyer.

That sadly means all we can do is gamble on a new manager. It’s a shame as I love farke and what he has done for the club but it’s our only choice.

I’d give him one final chance…an impressive performance and win v Leeds out he is out.
