  1. It’s all a bit odd, McCallum is like Nunez, Sara and Sargent they all on occasions look like excellent players but the next minute also look like they have never played the game before.

The lack of consistency is just incredible.

The only thing that gives me any sort of hope is that maybe a decent manager can actually coach these players to improve them and give them some confidence. The irony is the one guy who was VERY good at that was Farke!

  2. I think Wagner is a decent option…But the biggest issue he is going to face is he will regarded as Webbers man.

There is therefore a big risk the fans will turn very quickly on him if improvements don’t happen very quickly. I hope that doesn’t happen as whoever comes in needs time to turn this mess around.

  3. That quote from Webber about last administration p.ing money at the wall now back to haunt him.

His arrogance has effectively ruined our club.

Over his time he has managed to firstly help bu8ld a great squad but now has brought us to a level that is worse than when he arrived.

How much premier league money has he totally wasted on rubbish players?

even worse he has cost us the loss of Farke one of our best ever managers in my opinion.

Yes Deano was also an awful fit but the whole thing is a complete mess. 2 seasons of prem riches spunked up the wall.

McNally must be p ing himself with laughter.

Im very surprised he hasn’t sent out a tweet quoting what Webber said, I certainly would have. Webbers arrogance has been his and the club’s downfall unfortunately.

  5. I honestly can’t understand why we didn’t make any tactical subs today? Clearly wasn’t working with 3 upfront again.

If you were interim manager would you not make at least 2 or 3 changes to get a result?

Might as well lose 2-0 by trying to win it.

Webber really needs to get this managerial appointment right.

Oh good, another quick fire appointment 🙈 after the last one worked out so well 🤣🤣

I’m more hoping that Webber has actually been doing his job this time and has candidates listed and even contacted ahead of sacking Smith rather than making idiot knee jerk decision when another club sack their manager. I don’t mind if that means tapping up his old contacts like Wagner

I would happily welcome Wagner - he looks the best candidate to me, assuming that we can't get Knutson which was pretty much rule out by Rob Butler last night.

I agree, the thought of likes of Wilder or god help us Bruce gives me the shivers…can’t even believe people are seriously considering Martin O’Neil (I have nothing but respect for him but would be ludicrous to appoint a man in his 70s who hasn’t managed for years).

If Wagner is definitely interested I think we should stop messing around and get him in asap so we have time to salvage the season with a good chance in the playoffs.

As mentioned his best role is suited to that played by Buendia. I really feel Nunez and Aarons could form a decent partnership down that side. His stamina is good, he'd be able to track back when needed and he could feed Aarons onto his overlapping runs (now he has permission to pass the half-way line) or he cut inside to find Pukki, ala Buendia.

To compensate this, play Mclean on the left with Mccallum to help the later out defensively and also give us an aerial outball. Mclean has already shown he is competent as a left-back, and can also often find Pukki's runs.

It's who you play in the middle of the park which is the issue for us...

I agree with this and think it would work well.

For what it’s worth I’d play Gibbs/Hayden alongside Sarr in middle for most games but for toughest games Gibbs with Hayden.

  9. I thought we at least played with a bit of intent and passion which was totally missing under Smith. The formation was wanting but I think that was just naievity of coaching team tryng to go for it. Gives me hope that IF we get the right manager we could still achieve something this seaason.

The right manager can certainlly work with the likes of Nunez, Sara, Sargent, Gibbs and Hayden to create players who can impact a game in this league. At the same time I think we should move on from the likes of Hernandez , Dowell, Mclean etc who might be no worse but will now not get any better

  10. Seems a decent option and I’d probably prefer him over the likes of Martin and Robins. May be old boys network with Webber but at least means should hit ground  running.

Been successful before and Huddersfield certainly played decent football.

Although the main truth is probably that there’s a  bit of Farke about him and I still miss him (sad I know!)

  11. That was just utter rubbish, whatever the final score is then smith should be sacked. Embarrassing just host poor a football team we have become.

For the first time ever I’ve turned the game off at half time. Not fair to make my family sit through this rubbish. Our time as a family is precious so we’re going to watch a film.

Some may say I’m not a real fan but I don’t care! That’s what smith has done to my club

  12. Suppose this can be filed under one for the future but not particularly exciting (especially the slightly built decription.. the last thing this squad needs!).

Gibson is a strange one, I know he gets a lot of abuse but I do feel that there is a good player in there (and his history also suggests that).

He is a good age for a CB (especially as pace has never been his most important asset) and seems a decent character.

His confidence seems to be shot (and this is one example where I can see why the crowd reaction, whilst understandable, is no help).

I may get hammered for this but I'd like to see Smith sticking with him for a bit and show him some commitment.... I think he could be a player of a higher quality and better captain material than Hanley

  13. It’sa well written piece but doesn’t get over the fundamental fact that the football being played is just rubbish. Even during the unbeaten spell there were many games that we were poor but managed a win.

Sadly I think that is Smiths ‘style’ And it matches his uncharismatic and dull public persona (I know he’s reportedly a ‘nice guy’).

Fact is we are being asked to back a team which is dull and short of confidence and inspiration. Smith has been here for a year and now brought a fair few players in so the fault lies with him and he needs to go.

Doesn’t matter if Mick is right about the owners intentions the priority is giving the fans a team we can enjoy supporting and watching

I'm now concerned Pukki will force a move in January - he looked dejected yesterday and totally lost his rag at one point.

If we keep smith we might as well let Pukki go and get a few quid for him. We’re not playing to his strengths and won’t be going up. Might as well give Sargent the chance to see if he can genuinely be our main striker
