  1. Completely agree with Boro being an absolute disgrace aided and abetted by one of the most hopeless refs we have ever seen.

I hope we get them in the play off final and am confident that AN will have one or two tactical surprises in store to undermine their cheating tactics.

Lets not forgot AN and the players since he arrived have done brilliantly, we just need to keep the faith.

    OTBC.

  2. Only one shot on target all game, heavy legged players who show no belief. Same old same old.

Olsson should have had a shoulder op last year, he is in pain every time he goes to ground and was outpaced when he committed the foul and got sent off. This would not have happened if he was fully fit.

  3. Top 3 favourites would do a decent job with the right backing, as we cannot keep paying the lowest wages in the Prem and expect to stay in the league.

My preferred choice would be Uwe Rosler, but doubt if we could get him away from Wigan.

I think Hoddle is past his sell by date, I seem to remember Wolves were pretty woeful with him as Manager, could not win games, did not score many goals and that was in the Championship.

  4. All is not lost. WBA are no world beaters and we can certainly win today. It was not long ago that we could always count on McAuley to score a goal or 2 for us.Having seen Man C yesterday, and the headlines about Mancini this morning, I would not rule out getting a result there either.

  5. We have not had the rub of the green this season and have been the victims of some terrible decisions by some appalling refs and linesman which has definitely cost us points. The only refs I would trust to make fair and just decisions are Howard Webb and Mike Dean, if we get one of them on Sunday we can definitely still stay up. If we can beat Arsenal and Man U with the personnel we have now we can surely beat WBA who have nothing to play for. One last big effort all round required by everyone, all other comments can wait until the end of the season.

  6. You''ve hit the nail on the head. Lack of movement and attacking ambition is what is killing our attacking threat. Perhaps away from home understandable but the approach needs changing big time at home. We need full backs running past wingers and midfield players running past strikers (2 central ones please Mr H), which surprise surprise will then create space for the aforementioned strikers who might then get some shots in on target. Only problem is can the team remember how (be allowed) to play like that, and Grant Holt rekindle the spirit of the last 3 years and lead from the front?

4 very winnable home games coming up, lets be havin you!

  7. Whilst agreeing with Robin Sainty''s views as expressed in the EDP most of the time, I also disagreed with some of his last piece, and in particular to:

The frustration of fans at the club’s inability to stretch enough in the January transfer window to land its targets is understandable to an extent, but you can’t spend what you don’t have, although some seem happy to be free with other people’s money.

It is illogical to suggest that a club with our resources, asset base and diversified income streams will somehow become the next Portsmouth if we have say £10M of debt at the end of the season.

That £10m (coupled with the c.£8M of funds available) could have made all the difference in landing the striker that would score the goals to ensure we stay in the Premier.

What the board have done is played a game of russian roulette in the hope that we can grind out results without scoring many goals, all for the holy grail of being debt free.

If the gamble pays off, we need to see much, much more spent on players than we have in the past, bearing in mind that all of the other Prem clubs will have a lot more income to spend from the new TV deals.

  8. What a fantastic player Ted McDougall was, when he first came to Norwich he looked like he was going to score every time he got the ball. A tad different to his last game away to Coventry when he appeared totally hacked off and volleyed an easy chance over the bar. His partnership with Charlie Boyer must be the best we''ve ever had.

It was absolutely criminal to have sold both of them to Soto for peanuts. Charlie went on to be leading goalscorer in the league.

  9. The body language of some of the players said it all for me. For example Fox turning his back on a Norwich player about to take a throw in and Howson strolling around in our half for most of the match and playing so deep he was never going to pose a goal threat or make a killer pass. If they cannot be bothered to make an effort they had better leave.

Hughton is also culpable, why do we need to play 2 holding midfelders against non leaguers for heaven''s sake! The lack of movement, ideas, guile and technique was very worrying.

Mr McNally needs to pay what it takes to get in a couple of goal scorers as Holt cannot do it all on his own. If it means there is some debt left at the end of the season then this is surely not a problem to a club that owns it''s ground, training ground, has >20k season ticket holders & sells out most home games.

  10. Tettey is our best midfielder, BJ is going through a bad patch and needs a rest. As well as 2 strikers we need a more attacking midfielder, as Howson is out of his depth. Come on Delia and MWJ, show some ambition and spend some money, even if it means we end up with some debt. You are going to have to spend £7/8M to get Hooper, cos that is the going rate. What''s the point of being in the Championship with no debt.

  11. Last night we saw what a good player Tettey is. He would have snuffed out any threat from Holman who caused us problems all night long playing in the hole behind Villa''s front 2. He would also have led the counter attacking charges. Wes was another huge miss, we really needed him linking up midfield and attack.I still think we''ll finish above Villa, although they look a better team than the one we played at VP.

  12. We need a bit of siege mentality, everyone united and behind the team and manager, cos that''s the only way we are going to stay up. There were some hopeful signs yesterday, Holt is getting up to speed, Tettey showed good energy, won possession a few times, talking, organising and showing some fight, Bassong came through 60 minutes apparently unscathed and now has a fortnight to get back to being 100%. What we will have to do better than we did in the first 45 minutes yesterday, is to get in the opposition''s faces more, put them under pressure and make it harder to make the killer pass. The half time stat on the Chelski scoreboard summed it up, we committed one foul in the first half, they made 6. It seemed to have been decided that we would not press in their half, something reversed at half time as we did not press anywhere near hard enough in our half. We''ve seen before that the we''ll play now you play approach does not work.
