  1. The risk of putting the guy in is that every mistake will be scrutinised. If he played the next 5 games, and we lost them, subsequently to get relegated a lot of people could start blaming this on Lewis, finishing a promising career before it had started. If we get to Mid-april, 5 games left and mathimatically can''t get relegated then why not though?

  2. Has anyone else on this board noticed the upturn in performances (Ie Wolves onwards) since the arrival of a certain JIM DUFFY. His possible role on the teams sudden upturn in form seems to have gone unnoticed here, so i''d just like to ''shout-out'' to him as it was.Do other people think this could be a factor, that we have now totally changed our backroom guys from last season (Hunter was only very late worthy after all)

  3. I I have sent the following reply to the F.A.

    Sir / Madam,

I would like to call into question the judgement of Mr.

Lee  Probert, and the validity of some of

the decisions made by him and his assistants in the Norwich City Vs. Derby

County game on 6th March 06.

During the second half of the aforementioned game, Mr

Probert made several decisions that could be questioned. While I don''t deny

that we are all human, and make mistakes (and over time these things seem to

even themselves out in football) some of his decisions last night beggared

    belief.

A Case in point was when Norwich striker Chris Martin

appeared to be clean through on goal (subsequently to put the ball in the back

of the net, seemingly unaware that the game had been brought back) only for the

Assistant referee to flag after about three touches by Mr. Martin. Initially,

it appeared that the referee had pulled the play back for a foul on Darren

    Huckerby by Derby

player Darren Moore. If this was the case, then Mr. Moore would surely have to

be sent from the pitch, being the last man, who, if he missed the tackle, would

have let Darren Huckerby clean through on goal. Your own rules state as much.

It took Mr. Probert a considerable amount of time before indicating this ‘offside’

    decision.

The credibility of this refereeing team was again called

into question late on in the second half, with what appeared to be blatant

    time-wasting by Derby

    County
    players feigning

injury.  The first player to go down

injured (in a questionable manner) was the Derby goalkeeper, Stephen Bywater, reacting

to a one-on-one with Darren Huckerby for which Mr. Bywater claimed that

Huckerby had studded him in the thigh. If this was the case, as per your rules,

shouldn’t Huckerby have also been cautioned or sent off?? Treatment for this

injury appeared to continue for several minutes followed by another highly

    contentious decision.

After the aforementioned challenge, The Derby goalkeeper had

put the ball into touch so he could receive ‘treatment.’ Angered at his

    response, members of the Norwich

team played on, only for the referee to blow up and give the ball back to the

goalkeeper. Whilst I can appreciate this was done as a gesture of good sportsmanship,

is there anything within the rules and regulations of the Football Association

that deems such an act to be necessary?? It also appeared to add to the tension

that was rapidly building inside the game, and which threatened to boil over

    towards the end.

We are all human, I don’t deny this, and we all make

mistakes. It just appears that Mr. Probert made a few too many high – profile misdemeanours

during the aforementioned game for this to go unnoticed. I don’t wish to

suggest Bias on his part, or worse accusations of cheating for I do not believe

this to be a case, but merely wish to bring the standard of referring in this

game to your attention, for hopefully your own deliberations.

I await further correspondence from you on this Matter.

    Regards

I''m sorry but THAT post is a disgrace!!! how can you say that after everything he did and everything he continues to do!!! i''d be dissapointed if they didnt cheer when he got injured. have you not noticed how other teams fans are so much better at pissin off our players, and have you noticed how it gets to them, the only one who can really handle it is huckerby, the rest jus fall to pieces. why don''t we take the mick out of other players as much i dont understand it, surely as a fan you would do anything to help the other team self destruct!!!

[/quote]At the end of the day for all his misdemenours in the past, Andy Marshall IS a human being. He has feelings, he has people who care about him. If we were at an away ground and one of our players was down injured for a few minutes we wouldn''t like it if he was getting heckled by the fans during this period. The rest of the game fair enough, but it is below the belt to do it when the bloke is injured. How would you feel if he had been concussed, or had a Peter Cech style incident? Still proud of yourselves for booing?

  5. Hi guys, just to clarify before i start (As some people consider this sort of thing important) i am a season ticket holder, who occasionally travels away, but can''t generally afford it being a student, and have renewed for next year. (cue some members of this board saying im under the boards pr spin)- There appear to be some people, here and at the ground wanting the team to fail to push their own twisted agenda. Be this agenda ''grant out'' thorne is ****'' ''sack the board'' etc etc these people seem so consumed by these negative thoughts that they now consider them above the points. Whilst i agree that Peter Thorne is not the greatest norwich player, he is at the club and should be supported. It felt to me today (with Ethuhu) like some members of the crowd were waiting for him to make a mistake so they could boo him. What a great way to get the guy to play well. - The last thing the club needs is a split down the middle atm ála Worthy Out / ''Keep the Faith'' last year. What a great load of good that done. A schisim at this point is the last thing needed. Support for Grant, the boys etc to get us out of the quagmire is what is needed, not ceaseless booing (Before anyone comments, there was a lot today NOT aimed at Monsieur Marshall)- The people waiting for ethuhu to make a mistake should hang their heads in shame. When the guy made a good tackle today and was roundly applauded his head physically raised. So lets support the guy loud and clear, and get that head raised above the Jarrold Stand dominating the game. - Who can blame the team for a lack of effott when their supporters onliy moan?

  6. Marshall - 7 - Apart from the goal had very little to do. Distribution wasn''t bad, i like this guy.Colin - 6 - Not one of his better games. Good to see him get the shot in early on that could have gone anywhere. wasn''t helped by croft, but more of that laterLappin - 9 - Strong Debut, done everything right, keep it up and we''ll be laughingDublin - 9 - Very well taken goal, i''ve seen strikers miss similiar chances. No other comment to make, purely because he goes about his buisness so quietly you don''t notice until he isn''t thereDoherty - 5/6 - Has played better, but has also played worse. AverageFotheringham - 6/7 - Good passer, didn''t have much time on the ball though. Seemed a little lacking in match sharpness, but it will come. Fitness was good for someone who hasnt'' played games in so longSafri - 6 - Drifted in and out of the gameEtuhu - 3/4 - I don''t like kicking the guy, he could be good for Norwich, but today he was abysmal.I think in the end he was trying to hard, his shot at 2-1 was a perfect indication of this.Croft - 5 - No end product, too defensive and got in way of colin a bit too much.Huckerby - 9 - Last 15 minutes truly sublime, way to go Hux!Brown - 6- Made a nuisance of himself, even though offside should have put ball in the netSubsHughes - 7 - For once i''m going to praise the guy. Made some good tackles, and runs especially going the length of the pitch deep into Injury TimeMartin - 6 - Got stuck in, but didn''t do much reallyMcveigh - 6- Came on, one half decent almost -pass, but not really long enough to assess

  7. Hi guys (girls) I just wondered if i am alone in any of the opinions i am about to express on certain players:Peter Thorne : Give the guy a break . Yes, he hasn''t got the legs of Darren Huckerby, but where was Iwan Roberts pace? This guy has a very creditable record at Championship level. Have you seen him play 5-6 games for Norwich consecutivly, so he can be match sharp and alert and show us what he''s made of? Only the very best strikers can come on with 20 minutes to go and change games. Matthieu Louis - Jean: How unlucky, but why criticise him? He has played ?Twice? for Norwich then got injured. Because he has injury problems, does NOT make him a bad player mearly an unlucky one. Perhaps it is best for the man if he moves on and has better luck elsewhere, but he certainly doesn''t deserve the abuse he gets on this boardAndy Hughes: I''m not a massive Andy Hughes fan. But he''s not Raymond De Waard, or any other glorious misfits we''ve had. He is always commited, doesn''t let his head drop and isn''t afraid to get stuck in. Every team needs these players, 11 Darren Huckerbys would for sure get us relegated.Jurgen Colin : Another one who has frequently had negative connotations thrust upon him... but he''s getting better. He improves wiht most games, and this is surly what we should be asking of a player. Dickson Etuhu: A massive bloke (literally.) but also a confidence  player.  If he''s on a role with the crowd behind him he could be immense . But booing him  will get us nowhere, only send him on a downward spiral which could so easily be avoidedNow some ''general'' comments.- Has anyone else noticed how many of our players are afraid to shoot? Is this down to the fans, with whom one bad shot can lead to a player getting booed. This was particuarly evident in the 2nd half last night (wolves) when D.E. has several opportunities on the edge of the box which he was reluctant to take, from a not to disimiliar position to Colchester. Confidence? Fear of negative reactions ?? - Congratulations to David Marshall on being familiar with the concept of ''throwing'' the ball outI''m sure this post will get bashed because i am ''content with the club'' ''am happy for it to fail'' etc but my message is this. If we suggest these people are failures, that is probably what they will become. call a kid at school thick and they often turn into ''the thick one''So lets pull together, whatever happens in the next four hours transfer wise, and push this club away from the relegation zone, with support to make others (yellow and) green with envy.
