Yes any side going into a Premier League season with Pukki Idah and Hugill as their three strikers deserve to and probably will be relegated .

I cant imagine we will go into the season with those 3, well.. I hope not anyway.

Pukki is older and not as sharp as he once was nor as clinical. Idah is no way near prem level and needs a loan and Hugil couldn't even nail down a place in the championship.

You do recognise he was playing injured for half a season don’t you? He bust his toe from the 18th game I believe. Perfectly understandable that the he wasn’t as sharp from that point on.

Yes I realise that, the effects of all these injuries and his age isn't going to make him a sharper player.

I know for Finland he was carrying a knock too but he looked so unlike Pukki who we know and love.

Remember we have now lost the key link for Pukkis superb form, Buendia.

End of the day we need a clinical striker to keep us up.

Pukki is older, sure, but not sure how you can say he isn’t clinical enough - he was only properly fit for the first 18 games whereupon he banged in 11 goals. If that’s not clinical then I don’t know what is.

Sorry, I cant see how if you have watched him last season you can say he is clinical.

After the good form ran out how did he get on after 18 games, terrible, but suffered much like the team. I just have a feeling getting a fully fit Pukki is a lot to ask, he looks very tired and slightly off it, hopefully he is can get back to full fitness in time

  4. Can anyone tell us where the goals are coming from next season,

Speculative guess - Rashica 6 (total unknown in the prem) Pukki 10 (based on last time in the prem and he is 2 years older), Cantwell 5, Dowell maybe 4 or 5.

Big worry for me, as much love the guy.... I don't think Pukki should be our go to man for goals, personally he isn't clinical enough at the top level.

100% trust Webber and Farke this time around

With recent signings this looks like being a great season for us.A top half finish is a possibility this season.Exciting times ahead with the youth teams producing future players

Top half... calm down. 17th is good enough for me.

Where are all the goals coming from btw???

Perhaps if you had added some depth to your original comment, rather than just proffer a one sentenced opinion with no back up, then the binner suspicion might not have been on.

Did you watch the last Finnish game with the sound off then? The reporter repeatedly mentioned the fact that Pukki's performance was severely handicapped by the ankle injury he was carrying.

    Thanks for the insult, btw.

So because I didn't write a few paragraphs to explain what I mean, I'm accused of being a scummer,  that makes total sense..... are you paranoid?

Re Pukki, Yes I was aware of that, it cant be great for him in the long run playing through it.

Fair enough if you think Pukki's goals will keep us up, I cant see how anyone can think that, even more so with the partnership with Buendia gone.

    This is nonsense.

Brighton stayed up and their best striker and top goalscorer in Maupay scored 8 goals.

Wolves stayed up with Neto only getting 5 goals and joint top scorer for them.

There are tons of other examples. Pukki is coming back in off a 26 goal Championship season having scored 11 in the prem the season before.

    Its not nonsense at all.

Wolves are incomparable to us. Moutinho and Neves in the midfield. We have Mclean and Rupp. The reason they can get away with out a prolific striker is because they have a better all round team and a better defence, much like Brighton, one of the best defences in the league, Bissouma in the middle etc etc.

I cant imagine we will have a defence as solid as those 2 teams or be as potent going forward, but obviously I hope I am wrong.

Remember some of these players flopped the last time we played premier league football.

The same player who scored a hat-trick against Newcastle the last time City were in the Premier League?

ITFC supporters have always been very jealous of Teemu Pukki as they haven't had a decent striker for years and years.

Whilst our player was plying his trade for his country in the Euros where was James Norwood? In the pub, the tattoo parlour or playing with other kids on Twitter?

There are some real oddballs on here. what on earth are you waffling on about.

Yes he scored a hattrick, but taking the emotional part of it away, because we all love Pukki at Norwich, he is not good enough to keep us up. He looked really jaded at the euros, and towards the end of last season. Trust me, I hope I am wrong, but that is just my feeling from watching him of late.

  9. Man city game aside.... any others ?

I'd say the first half at home to Wolves, it was the best half of football I think I've seen a Norwich city team play, superb.

If i remember correctly that was in amongst a group of games where we found ourselves 1 nil up at half time only to go on and loose the game 2-1 in the second half.

The first 4 or 5 games where also really exciting and had everything, Newcastle at home and Chelsea at home for example. When you think back to those games, I honestly cant understand how we have ended up how we are now, especially the lack of goal threat now.

I cant help but feeling the players we brought in have almost upset the group, especially seeing garbage like Rupp and Duda starting over Buendia / Vrancic etc.

  10. Madness to even question the man IMO, think back to the dark days of Houghton. We play some great football and its always a pleasure to watch us.

Once again with such a limited squad, we've lost another premier league game by one goal.

Just imagine if the board actually had an ounce of ambition about them at the start of the season.... a real shame.

Best manager we've had, most exciting squad we've had for a long time, best young prospects in a long time and we dont back the manager.

    Its madness.

Well, if what you say is true we won't have a single problem holding onto him for next season which is great news.

He wont be here next season clearly, but I think that is based more on potential, him being a ball playing, young English centre half than him being a polished premier league defender.

Nobody can look at him this season and think he is 100% ready for a top 6 club IMO.

Your manic determination to attack Godfrey at every turn is weird to say the least - and makes it look like you've got an agenda.

We kept a clean sheet on Saturday in case you didn't notice. Look at these highlights. Who is it who makes a great goal saving challenge at 3.30?

Hardly a manic determination to attack him, jesus. Its a forum mate, people air their views, I'm sorry my views differ to your, is he your brother? why do people take it personally about criticising a player?

I cant understand how people can say zimbo and godfrey are our strongest pairing, when we have shipped loads of goals this season and far too many last year.

Hanley has been solid for me., considering he has hit the ground running after being out for a while, he hasn't been eased back in and he has still performed.

btw we can all throw up highlights and video clips to enhance the point.

Pace, athleticism and quick reactions count for so much in football. The reason Godfrey will go to a top club for a lot of money is that he has those in spades as well as being a technically gifted player. Hanley and to a lesser extent Zimm don't. Often an amazing block or tackle from those two will only happen because they were half a yard behind in the first place. Godfrey would probably have comfortably got to the ball first and dealt with the situation. Most of his errors have been being done by clever movement from top strikers, which unfortunately comes with the territory for a young defender. Once he's learned to anticipate those little tricks he'll be a full international player.

    100% garbage

Come on, we all know why he made that challenge!  Wilson had been at him all game and was winding him up good and proper.  Ben lost it, forgot about VAR and thought he could land one on Wilson in a relatively innocuous part of the field, in front of their bench, to make a statement!  Fine in the Chumps and below, Ben's only problem was the change in the application of VAR.  Lesson learnt and another fortnight to get his focus back.

Another game where Godfrey gets taken for a walk by the opposition striker, yes he is a physical lad, but his positioning is shocking, gets done so often trying to nick the ball, missing it and then getting pinned by the striker, week in week out. This generally gets ignored because people go mad about his passing, rather have my defender defending first then worrying about passing range after.

I think Hanley has looked decent the last few games, a proper no nonsense defender.

🙂 Thanks Fuzzar. Those guys are heroes - I'm just some argumentative old git on a message board who's hackles rise when people who profess to be Norwich City fans stick the boot into our young players on a public forum.

I am Norwich fan, season ticket holder for 16 years and I am giving my honest opinion. Irrelvant if its a public forum or not, I am not sticking the boot in.

Typical bloody snowflake happy clapper Norwich fan.
