I’d say and not limited to, Omobalidele, gunn, Nunez, sara, rowe, Tzolis, Aarons and whoever falls off the academy production line are all saleable assets

All of which added together would be less than a Buendia, a Godfrey or a Maddison, so thank you very much for helping to prove my point.

  2. Football must be the only industry where you can be sacked for been sh1t only to be appointed in the same position at a club at the same level just days/weeks later.

It took DS a while to get his chance in the big league, I imagine NCFC was his best route back in, otherwise he'd have slipped to another Championship team and had to do it all again.

Who'd say no to another crack at the big time just days/weeks after been sacked?

    This Craig Bellamy?

    https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/how-norwich-city-saved-craig-bellamy-30-000-but-still-578858

Craig Bellamy has revealed he offered Robbie Savage and his Derby team-mates £30,000 to scupper Norwich City's Championship promotion two years ago.

Canaries' academy product Bellamy was on loan at promotion rivals – and his boyhood club – Cardiff as the 2010-11 season entered its climax, with newly promoted Norwich in the box seat and the Welshmen breathing down their necks.

And while some part of him might have enjoyed his first professional club flying high, Bellamy reveals in his newly released autobiography Goodfella he put his money on the line to realise his dream of helping Cardiff to the Premier League.

'It was between us and Norwich,' said Bellamy. 'They were playing Derby and if they got anything other than a win, we would move ahead of them into second.

'Robbie Savage was playing for Derby at the time and I spoke to him the day before the game. I told him that if they won I'd give him £30,000 to share between them all. Pay for a night out, have a meal, do whatever you want. I told Sav I'd even give him the money if they got a draw. That's how desperate I was.

F**king love that win at all costs attitude to be fair.

This isn't an aside. This is the crucial topic.

Keep him and the absolute best we can expect is the playoffs (he's never finished higher than fifth in this league).

Bin him, and you'd be hard pressed to replace him with someone who can't get this squad into the top two*.

*though Webber could still manage it

Completely agree but I didn't want the thread becoming another Smith In/Smith Out thread.

  5. For the club.

Aside on whether Dean Smith keeps his job or not,

This is a huge Seven Months coming up for the club.

Without promotion this season I feel we are in real trouble,

We have no sellable assets left, Max's regression has seen his value drop and Todd as completely imploded.

We'd surely lose Krul, Pukki and we'd still have some high earners and Gibbs aside it doesn't look like we have any youngsters pulling up trees.

    Promotion is imperative.

Without it we genuinely risk falling deep into trouble.

  6. F**k it,

    Literally can be no worse.

Not sure if this is insanity or just my unconditional love for my Idol growing up,

    Let's bring Bellers home.

He's driven to succeed, passionate and articulate when it comes football.

I just want to fall back in love with my football club.

It's definitely not as conducive to controlling games you're right and that's why we won't win as many games or get as many points under Smith this year as we got under Farke the last two times. But that's kind of the whole point because we're building a style that can get results without having to control games if we get promoted again. We could stick Farke in charge and give him 100m to spend in the PL but we're still unlikely to be able to control games, score goals and keep teams out in the PL because the quality and athleticism in that league is so high.

It's not perfect now i'll freely admit that, which is why I say we're building and not fully utilizing yet. We need to cut out the defensive mistakes and be more coherent and incisive in our counter attacking but I can see what we're trying to do even if it's not working yet. You have to remember though most of our players were signed for Farke and Smith has admitted in his latest press conference what is blatanetly obvious “Sometimes you can have a lot of players who just want to play football, but there are times when you look at the game within that, which isn’t solely about trying to play football, but to turn the opposition and create opportunities."

You want someone like Farke in charge and to try to control games if you've stayed up for 3 seasons and have build a good team in that time, a manager like him with that style isn't right for us for where we find ourselves right now.

    In this division,

    With some of these players

    And with this squad.

    It's absolutely what we need.

It's been almost a year.........DF may not have been good enough to coach in the Prem, but he was learning and I truly enjoyed watching NCFC play under him, win, lose or draw.  DF brought, class, style and a belief that, given the right tools, we could make something of it. Smith seems to smile, drink his tea and wait for his fat check at the exit interview.

As the image says. I feel as many others do that we have been more holding it together and getting bye, than building cohesion and momentum as a team. I recognize that teams require time to gel, but we're coming up to 15 games in and it feels as though we are lost as a team. Yes the talent in there, but it's like the players and playing in different languages. And no, I don't think it has anything to do with not having a left-back, or a soft middle field, or Pukki not getting service while Sargent is out wide. I think it has everything to do with how they're being coached.

My feeling is we've seen NCFC at it's best this season. Strap in for an off-road experience with no suspension.

    This,

I didn't mind losing under him because I knew 99% we'd go down swinging, trying to play football and with some passion.

I just don't see that now,

Even when scrapping wins, it dull, tedious and passionless.

I think the way I support the club as changed as I've matured, there's more to being in the Premier League, Id rather have someone to believe in.

You can mock if you like, but you really don't have to look far to see how Sargent and Idah  have been utilised as wide players in their careers, Sargent at Werder before Norwich and idah at Norwich - indeed most of Idah's appearances have been as a sub out wide.  Just because you label them "centre forwards" doesn't mean they can't do anything else.

And have they been seen at their best?

    No,

They've been round pegs in square holes because they've not been deemed good enough to be the No.9 and because we haven't had the personnel to play an effective wide game.

This has also been hindered by having no fit natural LB and the regression of Max.

For comparison from Farkes last championship season:

    After 14 games…..20/21 won 7 Wins, 4 Draws, 3 Losses 25 points.

    Smith this season:

    After 14 games…..20/21 won 7 Wins, 3 Draws, 4 Losses 23 points.

Not too dissimilar, but the next 9 games which I believe Smith should get to show he has a system, a set plan and to show he actually wants to be here (the most important thing to me, as the coach/managers attitude reflects the players on the pitch) he needs to match Farke, who at half way through at 23 games in was at 14 Wins, 5 Draws, 4 Losses on 47 points, this means Smith needs at least 7 wins and 2 Draws.

The reason for the direct comparison is that this squad is a second time Premier built squad, has been coached for nearly 10 months by Smith now and a bench mark as a measure.

I’d be happy to actually see a change sooner but as others Smith is a likeable guy and I still would like him to do well, but I want to see more connection with the fans, he never states any connection never mind love for our club, or crediting the fans for their continued support during testing season last year or the droll football being served up at times.

I can understand why a lot of fans aren’t happy but as Nutty said last week, the club and fans are at a point where two premier league seasons of getting humiliated, not much change in pattern might also be having an effect on fans turning early on Smith who was touted by Webber as not only the best option but the only option once he was sacked by Villa!

Be none of us believe that, because Farke was sacked before Smith,

And you wouldn't sack a manager with no other option available would you....
