Yes to both,
First Q,
For the club it's imperative, we can't afford not to be in the Premier Lge next season.
We have no Buendia, Lewis, Godfrey, Maddison, Murphy's to sell.
If we don't go up and we lose the players we expect to lose, Krul, Max, Pukki, Todd, those expensive wingers out on loan then I don't see how we could expect to be competitive next season.
Unless of course the American takeover becomes realistic.
For me,
I'm more concerned about my connection to the club, I've matured as a supporter over the last few years, with Farke and the young players I felt a real connection to the club, even when things weren't going well. I'd happily yo-yo without putting too much pressure on the need to finish 17th, than come 17th with a Dean Smith type.
Realistically as club what can we ever achieve? We don't do cup runs. As a supporter I want to take my boy away, enjoy some wins and be connected to the club and for him to have that same connection that my dad gave to me despite (being from Leeds) having no real connection. Do we have to be understanding that beating Man City at home or drawing with Liverpool at Anfield is the pinnacle of supporting Norwich City?
RE-2nd Q,
Firstly we have a squad that the bulk of have won the Championship at a canter twice.
Secondly, we've clearly got a good set of players, you don't go 9 unbeaten topping the league for some time if you haven't. They say the signs of a good side is a side that can still get something even when not playing well and we didn't play well during that unbeaten stretch.
I said at the time that our results would start matching our performances, Smith couldn't get any improvement or seemed to didn't think we needed to improve and guess what happened, our results started matching our performances.
There's no reason why we shouldn't be regalvanised and ensure that we are in the playoffs.

Genuinely criminal if he doesn't play for us next year, whether he wants to or not.
I'm still excited by the lad.

He showed a lot since he returned this seaso, but was subject to Smith's chop change, roullete wheel selection policy and indeed Smithball. He then (apparrently) got a slight injury and petered out.
Last chance. Nobody wil likely buy him now knowing he'' be free in the Summer surely? He won't be iin that much demand.
Lat chance. let's hope Wagner gets a tune fom him or even an opera and the he might, just migt, might get a new contact ... if he so wishes.
Ther's been so much assumption, guesswork abut this player, but who really knows?
Of course, they can sign pre-contrcts in January... we will know soon.
No matter which side of the fence you sit on with Todd, I think you now have to question how seriously Todd takes his football.
Id love him to do well but it's been years since we've seen the player we thought we had.
People want to deny it on here but he clearly has issues, multiple times he's returned from breaks unfit, which then coincide with an injury and an extended break
He had a chance to revitalise his career and go back to the Premier League with Bournemouth and couldn't make it happen.
Your right that no one will be buying him in January. Would there be much interest in him on a free, I'd suggest only from Championship clubs and maybe something overseas.
It's imperative were promoted this season, we need the money because we have no assets to sell that would enable us to be competitive next season, unless Todd is telling Wagner he's absolutely back, all issues are sorted and he's chomping at the bit, I'd rather cut my ties and go without him.

4 minutes ago, Michael Starr said:Yeah I mean... tbh... Hayden, Dowell, Byram, Hugill will save us a fortune in wages and they haven't exactly done much here anyway. Pukki and Cantwell may well get resurrected under Wagner as both are very much Wagner type players and then it's a different conversation regarding contracts. If we go up this season, both Pukki and Cantwell are likely to sign an extension as I can't see any bigger opportunities appearing. Farke may well fancy bringing Pukki to Germany and he may go. If he does, he's earned his move and he will be replaced.
If we don't go up, big earners will go, including the likes of Krul but that's kinda okay too. Our most successful teams have been built around lower level players stepping up as a collective.
Why on god's green earth would we extend Todd's contract?

Yet.
Certainly in relegation form.

And his biggest demon, Gambling.

Let's not forget were 11th

"His style of play, track record in terms of developing young talents"
Quote from the Pinkun.
Genuine Q, which young talents has he developed? I can't remember Hudds selling any young lads for ££.

SkySports reporting it's done

It's nonsense.
Meaningless nonsense.
Its not a 'shout' or a 'suggestion' it's just garbage.

From one tweet?

Cos we sacked the manager who beat them!

There's obviously a team in there, you don't play poorly for so long, yet go 9 unbeaten and top the table if you don't have good players.

Rupp, Vrancic, Stiepermann, Skipp, Buendia, Klose, Zimmerman, Tettey, Quintilla we had last time, from the top of my head. Not the same squad at all, completely different midfield apart from McLean, an inferior one.
Pukki and Krul now post peak, players do decline obviously.
Lost a lot of dressing room leaders there. Now a leadership void.
Krul
Max Hanley Gibson Byram Dimi
Kenny Cantwell Sorensen Dowell Placheta Hernandez
Pukki Hughill Idah
All still here from our last Championship win.

Honestly anyone would would think Skipp was a clone of Makele and Yaya while Emi was a Messi/Ronaldo cross the way they're spoke about on here.

The bulk of this squad and spine of the team, won the Championship once maybe even twice within the last 3 seasons.
Yes we've lost Skipp and Buendia but that's it.
With the additions of Hayden, Sara, Nunez and Sarge, this squad very much should be aiming for automatic promotion at worst.

He said it . Did he not. So he spouts sh!t
He takes advantage , a chancer. He could nor give a to$$ about Norwich and he's made millions and where are we in this fantasy project of his .
Another message of nonsense and zero rationale or relatively, other than, you don't like him.
Great posts, good chat.

2 minutes ago, Google Bot said:I don't know how that works if you're a ref, as I was thinking the same thing during the game when that happened.
If a player commits an offence and you play on, mentally taking note to card them during the next break in play, and then they commit a second yellow card offence in between - you should surely show two cards?
But then I think, as ref, you're a part of the process by allowing play to continue. I don't know what the rule book says on that, not that i've ever read it.
I've just watched a video of it happening in a low level game, that's what citied the Q.
I do remember it happening to Martinelli at Wolves last season, he tried to prevent a throwing that chased after and fouled the man with the ball and given two yellow cards.

Gibbs very much walked a tightrope yesterday.

29 minutes ago, Mengo said:OK. Let's set the record straight. I can't stand the guy ok. My call. Call it a gut feeling . There is right and wrong in every walk of life.
The man for me is a chancer, charlatan, poser , an egotistical pr!ck.
Here's another statement.
“If and when I leave here, it won’t be in football, so for me it was about that understanding with them that as long as I'm allowed to explore certain opportunities, and they've been top class as you'd expect.
He does not speak truths. Not to be trusted. It won't be in football ( my a$$). So if chelsea had said come on stu boy join us. (Phew, man's a joke).
Nothing to do with football then?
So if you were offered a much more high profile job on more money, you wouldn't take it?
If you had a dream or something you wanted to pursue outside work and your employers were on board, you wouldn't?
-
Was there a case for young Morris to be sent off yesterday?
Around 50 minutes he pulled Max back who had started an attack from the half way line, Max passed the ball to Sarge(?) and Morris clattered him.
Had the ref of stopped the game for the first one he would have undoubtedly been booked and he was booked for the tackle on Sarge.

2 minutes ago, Robert N. LiM said:I love Teemu and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm increasingly thinking we should let him go in January.
On a practical level, he's not getting any younger and if we miraculously got promoted this season, I don't think we can ask him to carry us in the PL again. Time to move on.
But looking at it a little differently, I think we're going to have to accept that the Farke era is over. We need to build again, almost from scratch. Moving on from Pukki (and Krul) might help us come to terms with that. New heroes, as someone said.
He's got no value now,
And his goals would be far more important than the couple of million we might scrape.
-
I'm ready to let Teemu go come May.
He can have some sublime and silky touches, then be his own worst enemy.
If we could get another 10-12 goals out of him and he could fire us back to playoffs/final, could be a nice farewell for all.
Sargent isn't the answer for me, we need a proper finisher.
And goal aside against Reading I've not been at all impressed with Idah

1 hour ago, Mengo said:Webber has made us worse than before he arrived. Masterstroke.
Criminal negligence 😡
You can't actually believe that,
You can't believe that without him we'd have won the Champ twice at a canter.
That our first attempt upto Covid and with just our kids weren't actually that bad.
In hindsight our recruitment was not good for last season but no one on here was unhappy with Tzolis, Rashica, Gilmour, it just didn't work out.
Smith was a disaster appointment, said by many right from the start. He should have been sacked pre-WC but he's gone now.
Although recently he's not at the top of his game, Webber still has credit in the bank.
