Rusty, hands down -
Apart from a few silly lapses I thought Kennedy and Stefanovic looked tidy together yesterday, one of the few positives to come from the game really. I can see them being a decent partnership for the time being -
Assuming we don''t bring anyone else in before I would go for...
Marshall
Otsemobor Kennedy Stefanovic Bertrand
Croft Fotheringham Clingan Hoolahan
Russell
Cureton
Subs: Nelson, Lupoli, Koroma, Chadwick, Shackell

I wouldn''t necessarily say he is a terrible player, he has done jobs in the past, but he certainly isn''t a winger. There were so many occasions yesterday were we were poised to break and he''d turn around and look for someone behind him, when somebody like Croft would bomb on. Personally I see him purely as a central midfielder, a position he could probably do a job in, however would I say he''s the best we have that can play there? No, therefore I don''t believe he is worth a place in our starting 11 at the minute.

**If Lee Clark has been registered to play for so long why haven''t we been playing him earlier, that second half hat trick was extraordinary** -
Reading this morning''s EDP I think that maybe this is another case of Roeder playing games with the media. The quote says something on the lines of "We''re looking at one or two target men- one of them isn''t Steve Howard." This reminds me of the old riddle "two coins add up to 11p, one of them isn''t a 10p, what are they?" The answer being a 10p and a 1p, as one of them isn''t a 10p, however one is. Could this be what GR is talking about with the Steve Howard malarky? Don''t get me wrong, there are several strikers I would rather have than him, but it does seem to me like another case of Roeder choosing his words very carefully.. -
Maybe he isn''t proven at this level because he hasn''t been given a chance at this level yet..because of his age. Do you honestly think if he was such a pathetic ''runt'' as you''re implying Harry Redknapp would have picked him up? Who had heard of Benjani when Redknapp signed him? Now look at him. If there''s one Premiership manager who''s judgement of players I trust its Harry Redknapp. Give the lad a chance before writing him off completely. Actually in fact I take it back, you''re absolutely right, anyone who hasn''t proven themself in this league IS a runt and not worth it! We better not bloody sign Kaka for example!!!
