There's something about football that really does bring out the worst in some people.

Mocking tragedies, the desire to physically assault people because they support a different football team, criminal damage, death threats, and plenty of other things.

    I just don't get it.

I hope its not the same the other way round (I'm sadly sure it is to some degree), but my Facebook Messenger inbox is full of unaccepted message requests that are all Ipswich Town fans with insults to the mother, my partner and even a death threat. Reported where appropriate of course.

All in response to light banter. Facebook is of course full of plums anyway but football fan users are the worst

  2. All good views from that stand I'd say, pretty quiet in terms of atmosphere in The Regency. All views from South stand too, probably preferable to Regency when I don't sit in my Barclay seat.

Hope you have a great day!

Our best eleven on the pitch, a fighting team performance against a good team away from home, backs to the wall but deserved the win, key players performing well and the desire to bring home the points clear to see. Yes, still room for improvement - but that is a good thing.

So yes, for the first time since Farke left, I believe we can do something. The match was - for me - a season changing performance. We have seen the team win in the most difficult of situations - up against it, but up for the challenge and clearly playing for the manager and  the shirt with huge desire and class at key moments.

I was anti Dean Smith and I've been wanting Wagner gone too - but I think the players will take so much from that win - and so ought we as fans. We have witnessed the kind of performance that if repeated for the rest of the season, will see us in the play offs.

It was inspirational form front to back, defined by Rowe's goal and Gunn's spectacular save - but incuded everyone in a yellow shirt. Not going over the top with it, but I do think that it was the right performance with the right players at the right time to show that we do have something to offer this league this season.

    Lets be avin' you!

Agree with every inch of this.

Not quite as sure as you about how we will carry it on, but if we can and do play like that then we can beat many more teams.

Hull didn't get it together but they often do, and their loss was due to us and how the team battled.

We lost so many second balls and Hull were much better at passing and winning the ball at times. We owe Gunny one but we did the necessary stuff well and got stuck into it

More of the same please, lads

Ah, but - apparently, per the EDP we ‘somehow scraped to a 2-1 victory’ and ‘relied on luck’ to hold onto our lead.  And per Sky we should have had a definite red card.  For me, Dimi’s challenge was never enough for a red card, there wasn’t an ‘action’ in the elbow and had it been given it’d have been 100% rescinded.

True, he was throwing his arm out to shield, a risk, but the player moved differently to how  Dimi thought he would and was lower and caught him in the head. I don't think it was malicious or overly intentional. A yellow all day.

We kicked them about, they did the same, we just looked uglier doing it.

Glad to see us doing it to be honest.

It may also be that he's simply tired. In terms of midfield, he has had to carry this team a lot this season. We're asking him to be a DM, a water carrier, a box-to-box, and a creative AM all at the same time.

As well as the tiredness, though, when I've watched him in the last few matches, I get the impression that the joy has gone out of his game. It's sad to see because I think he's a marvellous player.

To be fair, Sara has regularly talked about playing 50+ games every season for years in Brazil

I don’t think they were as the sensible substitution was to bolster the outnumbered midfield but he got lucky in that we got a breakaway goal.

Jim, Fassnacht and Hernandez assisted and scored and wrapped the game up.

Gibson actually looked pretty assured and McCallum did no wrong.

Wagner got it right this time

    Fair enough.

I was more making references to how bad we've been but see how that may devalue him being nominated.

I was just surprised he had been.

It's good to see these kind of things are actually noticed by the panel, quite refreshing I feel. Don't get me wrong, I thought he did well and worth celebrating but didn't imagine it was more than many other league players who appeared to have a good month.

I just feel its part of terrible feel around here where anyone and everything at the club gets criticism even in success

No one has disputed that but the point made is still valid, he wouldn't have been nominated in "his position", whatever that's supposed to be.

For all the ones that don't rate him, there are plenty that do, everyone is entitled to an opinion and no one has to agree.

I personally feel its a bit unnecessary to point out someone's flaws when their strengths are being celebrated, that's all

At exactly the same performance levels but in the centre of midfield, there is absolutely no way he gets nominated, just like he never has before despite well over 100 Championship games. Honestly, these Kenny fan-boys make it up as the go along.

He got nominated for the work he did in the position he played.

The lengths some people go to to trash our players is quite a sight to behold

  10. I always loved Sven as a manager. Seemed like a real bloke but always very professional and warm. England played some of their best football in years under him.

It's awful he's going through this, I hope he and others can feel safe knowing he made some massive achievements in his life and will be remembered fondly in the football community alone.

We also need a right back. Fisher is not ready and Stacey is regressing from his early season form.

You're probably right that we do need an RB but it's clear to me that Wagner trusts who he has. And as we're on the verge a write off season, he won't get anyone in.

The guy from Wolves does look unsure of he's someone we can afford long term and what's the point in a half season loan here to him?

  12. We need a striker to replace Hwang as back up for number 9.

    We need a CDM

We don't at this stage realistically 'need' any more to see out a season that we can pretty much write off.

2 loans of those and we can plan further ahead for summer

Knapper must know of 2 players that fit that from all the work he's done. We must also have the funding to pay the wages

All the real work on transfers ins and outs needs to be planned for summer. That includes stripping the dead wood.

I reckon we'll loan out a lot more than we get in, though

He’s a wealthy man, no doubt. He’s already had to put in to help the current mess the current owners have created. There’s no money to spend, the club is back at pleading poverty levels. I’d imagine he’s getting it a lot cheaper than when the club was in the prem, hence him putting some in

I can't see him, given his other projects, not investing for growth and that includes sensible amounts to the playing team

Absolute state of it. Actively wanting your own team to lose? Good grief.

But then, is indifference really any worse? (The infrequent) wins certainly don’t bring joy like they used to.

Honestly, it's awful right now, it's so many supposed big time fans on here wanting us to fail at everything and actively wishing us to fail.

Yes, things aren't great, but never have I seen this level of absolute cry baby idiocy from so many posters on here

Ipswich fans looking in must be rolling on the floor and having a field day
