1. The rubbish i sometimes read on here at times astounds me. It makes me feel embarrassed to call myself a norwich supporter.Rose has played twice! Get a grip people!!! We lost! it''s our first loss in what was it... 17/18 games? Seriously get a grip! We will lose other games this season too no doubt, but this team with Rose in it is going up. Keep the faith. So far, Lappin, R.Martin, Rose, Nelson and no doubt a few others have had their own threads on here with people calling them this that and the other... It''s pretty pathetic. A lot of you are getting like Chelsea fans... whingy and undeserving of the very good team they have. Little rant over...

  2. Something any Millwall fan will tell you is that Millwall struggle against teams who have a decent target man and player playing off him. As it was said on the first page of this thread, without Holt we dropped deeper and deeper. If Holt was in that team I think we would have seen a very different score. Jackett hasn''t had much luck playing Lambert''s teams... this team however, missing it''s top scorer, every present left back etc... was bound to come unstuck sooner or later. Don''t get too worried or carried away by it.

  3.
Its defiantely happening my source tells me[;)]. I also have it in good faith that we are looking at bringing admoah from barnet on loan till the end of the season with a view to a pemanent deal. Any one know much about him?
love you to be right but i can''t see us signing the chap from barnet when we don''t play with wingers and already have a good one sitting on the bench...

  4.

Sadly as I am freelance and currently on the dole (a depressing necessary evil when trying to get into journalism) i can''t offer any money for anything, but i would be really happy if anyone can help.

    James
Hmm! Working on the side then? I''ve just phoned the job centre who said as well as Chirp, they''re also looking at a Cluck, a chicken and several canaries, apparently there''s a whole clutch of them on here. They take organised crime very seriously you know! [;)]
haha... too true and so you should shop me!

however if i get paid for the work (no telling i will... some papers have been mean in the past) I would defo report how much i got as I am one of those people who would get caught out if i forgot etc...

    :)

  5.
I can help you on that one, Chirp. Give me until Monday.
hi (northern) Irish canary,  do you mean with Mulryne? If you could help I would be delighted. I loved Mulryne when he was at Norwich and was gutted that he never really found the form he showed before his leg break. I know united fans liked him so it would hopefully make a popular read. Sadly as I am freelance and currently on the dole (a depressing necessary evil when trying to get into journalism) i can''t offer any money for anything, but i would be really happy if anyone can help. James

  6.
I can have it to you by monday.
brilliant.

I am in Norfolk over next weekend, so if he''s still around it would be great to get an interview in person.

If not a phone call would still be great.

It is likely to appear in the Inside United magazine (800 words, so about a page interview).

It was a very decent youth team which Alex was a key member of.

  7. it''s worth the effort if you get paid for the story!

He was last at Wroxham, but is now doing his coaching badges.

Alex is an interesting one as he was part of a very good youth team at utd including jimmy davis who died in a car crash.

A lot was expected of him, but like many players, he failed to reach the heights that he was expected to.

His injury did come in the game at portman road. think it was when he charged down a freekick

  8.

Do nothing other than state (which they already have) the story is rubbish and keep a bit of dignity rather than trying to look as though they are trying to scrounge money out of the stupid affair.  Obviously we can''t say it''ll effect players signings because we''re signed good players since. (can''t sue on that excuse) Morale hasn''t been effected because the team is flying (can''t sue on that excuse).  Fans morale, is there such a thing really?  fans just bounce along on the ups and downs of results.  Results obviously aren''t effected and as for creditors, if they believe the story, we must''ve been borrowing off ''morons are us''.
I''m not sure you read my post properly. My point was, that if the club merely rubbished the suggestions without following through with at least preliminary legal action, then many, MANY people would think "there''s no smoke without fire". It''s one thing for a club to say "that newspaper report is rubbish", but how many times have we heard that, and reports have turned out to be at least partly true? Threatening to sue shows the club actually mean business, and aren''t just issuing empty threats.I don''t think any legal action will get far, but I hardly think the club have acted in an undignified way. I actually can''t really think of how the board could have handled this any better, and to suggest otherwise is pedantry in the extreme, surely?
NC will win this hands down if they sue for defamation. Defamation is defined as something that has been written (libel) or spoken (slander) that has caused the claiment (norwich) to be lowered in the view of others, cause to be shunned (maybe a player not coming to city) ... it goes on... the issue is that the paper wrote something as if it was certain it was true when it wasn''t. with that in mind, the courts would fine the paper who by now should have made an offer of amends.... by not doing so by now, they will be made to pay a lot more.

  9. was at fulham for a couple of months but was let go when Keegan took over. Was watched three times by the palace goalkeeping coach (i''m a keeper) and also by Wimbledon. Sadly I bust my knee (the snap was heard 15 yards away appparently!) infront of the palace coach when i was playing for non league team carshalton (youth team... i was 16) Was told to quit by two doctors which was horrible and have since had a spell working as a football agent and now work as a sports journalist (specifically football) Not the same as playing though! I dunno if i would have made it, very probably not, was weak at crosses... much like many norwich keepers! still play, and get asked to play saturday football but, since the knee i have had a fractured jaw, broken neck, further knee issues and broken ribs.... ALL from playing in goal!never ducked out of a challenge... looking back i wish i did!

  10. He would be a good signing for us imo. It''s a move i think will one day happen... I think he was born here wasn''t he way back when his dad played for us... (think it was his pops) Would make good competition for holt who, looking at the situation tonight, doesn''t really have like for like competition for his place.

  11. News of the World and the Sun are News International. Sunday People and the Mirror are the Trinity group. Quite a few of the stories the NOTW print have quite a bit of truth in them actually. They often get injunctions and lawsuits against them on grounds of privacy. In this case, the language used i.e ''will go into administration'' etc will make it hard from them to win in court so they will pay damages. Boycott the paper? as Jimbob said above me... it isn''t too far from the truth really... we all know Norwich are in financial trouble... they just went too far and used the wrong language. If the article had been about more and more clubs facing the possibility of administration including say Portsmouth and Norwich they probably would have got away with it under the defence ''fair comment''. As for their coverage of League One... they only give it a page now which... personally i think is a real shame.

  12.
Having worked with the media for many years, I have seen the way ''less than honourable'' people occasionally feed stuff into the world of newspapers, radio and television just to ''stir things up''.

Political parties, especially those in government, are very good at ''leaking'' information they later pretend to be shocked about.

And what better way of causing problems for the opposition, be they companies, organisations, political parties or football clubs, is there than to damage their credibility with a few lies dressed up as ''a newsworthu story'' such as in yesterday''s News of the World.

Now I would urge anyone reading this missive of mine to think twice about the wording of any replies because that in itself could become libellous. However, I can''t help being suspicious about how and who might have started the ball rolling in producing a fabricated story that, if it was true or believed to be true, could lead to the deduction of points from our football club...
what you have just said is libellous too though... you are inferring something. You are right though, some contacts could have an axe to grind. Not very responsible journalism... most of the guys i worked with at the notw do have excellent sources... I don''t know this guy though so no idea where the story came from. Either way Norwich have a case and I am pretty sure an offer of amends is on its way to carrow road this morning.

  13.
What the journo has missed off is the full quote is actually:

"I would never in a million years go to Norwich! Because I''m no where near good enough and they would never in a million years want me!"

    FACT
couldn''t agree more... he is nowhere near good enough for norwich!!! what is he on?!?!it''s like one of us saying we would never play for colchester!

  14.
1-1.

Due a duff home result and the added pressure of possibly going top, and the huge expectation might not help us. Also Brentford are certainly no mugs and have conceded less goals than us, and have had some pretty decent results of late. Not forgetting, of course, that they have already beaten us this season.
I''m going with one all as well. Andy Scott will have Brentford hungry to beat us.However, they played on tuesday so hopefully we have an advantage. In games like this, it is vital the fans roar the canaries on... OT but i also I think it is about time Lappin got on the scoresheet ... our spaniard is on zilcho this season!
