1. Hi guys girls and wizard, i am editing the letters for feb''s 442... If you would like to write a letter... say, regarding your thoughts about the world cup, the draw, something topical about norwich like Grant Holt.. or the great football there is to be watched in league one...or perhaps about King''s Lynn''s plight... I will try get one or two published for you.

PM me your letters or email me on jamesbwallis@hotmail.co.uk

Be good to get a Norwich related letter in there... One about why hasn''t someone bought Norwich yet could be a winner...(inc the good points about city... not a delia rant... unless it is good and not hate fuelled)

I''ll leave it up to you.

    James

Macnamee and Martin on a free.

A new stiker; Bernard, Simeon Jackson, etc. One of those two would be superb.

    Albert Adomah.

    A new centre-back.
Shaun... I''ll have what you''re having! If we could aford any of the above i''d be amazed...especially Jackson... He is a million pound player... Barnard is pretty similar to holt... (worth remembering if holt goes... I don''t think he will though btw... I think it is more press hype than anything) and Adomah... well... that''s going to be an auction... At least 5 clubs wil be after him... inc huddersfield and Southampton... not to mention the ''bigger boys'' of the championship.

  3. Yes and no...

I knew someone at fulham which is how i got there (for a short while though...  until they found out I was pretty rubbish at coming out for crosses...d''oh!) but I got an invite to come to trial for Palace through going to one of their community days...

I think at that age determination and a desire to give it everything gets noticed nearly just as much as talent....

There are a lot of very skillful players out there but the key is.. (and it is what puts off a lot of scouts) not being too greedy on the ball... so many try to do too much and that puts scouts off.

the ability to look up and pic a pass is a talent i think is hard to teach... so if you can find an 8 year old who does it naturally... well... he''s worth taking a gamble on.

Would love city to do this for the youngsters of Norfolk

  4. To keep our key players.

Jan is a very pricey time to but players... Seaborne might come to City from Exeter...

I would rather keep the powder dry (to quote Worthington) until the summer and use the money then when there are a few players on frees etc...

Hopefully we keep hold of Russell, Holt, Wes and Martin... That is more imp than signing new players.

I think our signings have essentially already been made in Russell Martin and Anthony McNamee.

Also think we have enoguh in defence with Nelson there, Spillane coming back who is a centre back by trade remember... and also with Stephens, Dumic and Francomb waiting in the wings...

We have gained no end by having to rely on our youth... I have no doubt that one two or even all THREE of these boys could be key players for city in the future...

All three, especially Stephens and Dumic have bags of potential...

  5.
I don''t like to be too critical but I think you would be better off doing this a group at a time over the next few months rather than rushing it all out at once. That way you could do a little more in depth research and maybe tell us things we don''t know about the teams. At the moment it reads a little like a list of the teams qualifying records and which of their players play in Britain.Oh and you''ve got Greece noted twice in Group B [:$]
the d''oh...sent it just as i was on my way out of the door... it had been a long day! will amend... agree with what you say about it being a little more indepth but it was written as a brief summary...an introduction to if you like...  not a fact file... perhaps i might do a dangermen fact file on each side nearer the time... With the players that play in brit i would have to say that quite frankly a lot of the teams that are in the world cup, their stand out players are quite often in the prem... ivory coast... ghana... nigeria (well obi is an ex prem ''star''...although i think newcastle fans might not agree with the term ''star''!) I for one had no idea about who played for some of the teams and had to research it... hopefully others reading it will pick up some info on teams like north korea (good luck to them btw... HARSH group!) that they didn''t know before... for what it is worth i think england do stand a good chance... the draw went pretty well for them... the next round against ghana or germany could be tricky... I wouldn''t fear USA really... It will be tight but we have more than enough to put them to the sword... JOE COLE... is the man i think England have been missing... He has great skill and a fantastic never say die attitude that i feel was missed a little in the last few games. thanks for the comments though... I value and appreciate them.James

  6. I went with Kleber in the end... He is a real character! Look him up if you can... or... I guess buy 442 in Feb!

Beau... I have been trying to find that copy of when Saturday comes... (may ed) I''ve been asked back for the next two weeks so will very likely want to do the bruno article... If so I might take you up on your offer to get a scan or fax copy of it... Only if it is no bother for you...

So who is excited about the Draw?

I''ve written a 2,500 word low down on each team that i''ll put up in my blog tomorrow or tonight for those of you who are world cup mad and sad like myself who''ll read anything! :)

Thanks for the suggestions... will look all of them up as there are other sections in the mag for the nutty South Ams!

Been looking over the net, I can''t find anythnig on Bruno being in trouble.. I know he had a party with prostitutes there but nothing on the spy part or the fine... Beau by any chance do you remember where you read about it?

Appreciate the help...  South American Football isn''t my strong point...

Thought the net would be full of stories of crazy brash south american footballers... but I can''t find any!

No problem mate. It was in the May edition of WSC. I''ve tried to find it for you on their website but haven''t succeeded. However, I''m sufficiently anal to have kept the magazine so if you want to PM me your fax number I''ll be happy to ping it across!
Hey Beau,

I''ll write up this scally Kleber and see what the editor thinks... We might have the May edition of WSC in the office so i''ll look it up... Might be I can write Bruno up for the March issue.

Guys you''re help has been great!

  8. Found this guy...

Kleber, from Cruzeiro - "the new Animal", as he was nicknamed by Palmeiras fans.

He has done it all to match Edmundo''s reputation: fights on and off the pitch, sharp mouth, beautiful goals...

His latest stint - playing football in a Palmeiras'' ultras party while recovering from an injury (and on the eve of the Palmeiras-Cruzeiro clash) - was not a hit with the Cruzeiro fans, but the club board forgave him: "He''s a bigamous".

    What do ya think??

Guys appreciate the help... Great to have the pinkun as a resource!

  10. Chaps/Chapettes and Wizard,

I know there are a few geeky football fans on here....

Can anyone name me a South American footballer who is pretty decent but has a growing reputation for being a little wild? i.e lifestyle...loads of bookings... etc etc...

    No one obvious like Adriano...

Your recommendation might be in 442 if it fits!

If you could help i''d be really grateful...

    Cheers

    James

I know that once you get older [:''(] that its harder to keep up with modern technology but could someone please explain to me what the benfits of Twitters & Blogs on the pinkun site are all about??

Aren''t they just comments/views that could be put on the message board or am I missing something?

Also why are there so many threads advertising them, surely if people wanted to read them they would without being reminded.

    Enlighten me someone [:)]

I can answer this one for you re the blogs.

I am training to be a journalist so the blog is something that I can show an editor.

I would say that the style of the story is different to what is written on the message board, it''s generally less scattergun and hopefully easier to read. eg... I put a lot more thought and time into what I write in my blog than i do when I write on the MB.

I write a blog as i feel I have something to say...

I hope that the people who take the time to read my blog like reading something written by someone who has had involvement in the game to a degree (as a youth player at Fulham and as a football agent, as well as working for the News of the World and Daily Mail sportsdesks as well as working for 442 where I am currently)  ...In other words I hope people think i''ll read what the chirp has to say as he seems to possibly know a little about what he is talking about!

People can take it or leave the blogs... I really like writing it and I am sure all the other bloggers do as well.

Hopefully some on here enjoy what we write!

    If not oh well!

  12. Sorry but Green is way above average. Doesn''t get the credit he deserves. Speaking as a keeper, ability wise he is easily in the top 5 keepers in the prem and I would say should be Englands No1. All our Eng keepers make a mistake, but he''s the only England keeper I don''t feel nervous watching... If Gordon was 9M then Green must be 5million... Of that Norwich would get a cut.

  13. The way the front 3 work (and why I don''t think it works as well with cody thus far) is that Holt likes to search for the ball similar to how wayne rooney does in a way, hoolahan comes in even deeper and martin is on the last defender or coming out left... If martin ran round like holt did we wouldn''t have the sharp point of attack that i think martin is. He''s actually a clever player who doesn''t get the credit his game play deserves... 10 goals this season already, assists he''s probably on 10 as well... I am sure defenders dread playing against our front 3 and chris is a key element of that. Super Chrissy Martin.
