1. I receive Gary Holt''s e-mail today...

Of course I won''t post all of the words there, but he was a bit shocked to leave Forest at the end of this month, he''s having hoildays as every footballer did now, will keep inform which club he will play next season very soon.

I really hope it''s in Coca Cola Football League because honestly I do not want to travel to Scotland in October...:-(

I think he''s 34 now XXL16. His game was all about energy so I would think his career is coming to an end. Mind you, when I saw him with you at Port Vale last year he still looked fit to me!

My favourite Gary Holt moment for Norwich was the second goal at piswich in December 03 (TOTLAPR) when they let him run unchallenged for what seemed like 70 yards before he crossed for McKenzies 2nd!

Yeah he looked fit at Port Vale and honestly I still recall many fans was surprised to see him...with me! I was the most luckiest fans!

I remember his assist to Leon at Portman Road, Holty can gone down and get the free kick but he stay on his feet to make a good cross!!!

  3. Holty was one of the nine players who will leave Nottingham Forest after 30th June, where will be "Three Lungs" next station? I recall I spoke to him last year he said he still want to play football and will have a few years to offer...

I would say Holty please stay in England so in this October, I can still visit you more easily, if you end up to play in Scotland, oh! Scotland to Norwich! It would be a long flight!!! ;-)

  4. I have nothing against Dion to be honest: a great professional, Shackell benefit so much when played alongside, scored many good goals for us, but, do we really need to rely on him so much, or if you tell me our most important player next season, our key to challenge promotion is a 38 years old player? I am shock! I hope Peter Grant should realise that.

Yes I agree Dion''s experience is vital for us, but experience would not get us out of this league, consistent, good midfield and energy will.

The only thing more confusing than your post is the inclusion of Daryl Sutch in your list of favorite all time players!
What''s wrong with that? Sutchy is my favourite player when I first visit to Norwich City...

  6. We should have a scout and what did they do? They did not do their job well and see the player of the season we had: Shacks was from our academy, Dion, free transfer and I didn''t think the scout recommend him and Hucks of course, our player for ages. Our new recurit seems not doing well for us in this season, should we have to sack the scouts now? Or what''s the problem?

  7. I got the reply from the club!!!

    ---

    Hi David,

Hope you are well and enjoying your sponsorship of Andrew Cave-Brown!

I''ve spoken to our sponsorship team who explained the following.

Basically, the decision to only have the sponsors logo on the front was made after taking the following into account. Firstly, we believe the design looked better and cleaner with only one sponsors logo on it.

Secondly, were we to have logos on the back and on the shorts, under league regulations the logo on the front would have to be considerably smaller.

Which leads me onto the final point in that Flybe themselves preferred to have the one larger logo on the front rather than others on the back and shorts.

The Club in no way loses money by not having other logos on the kit.

    Hope this clears things up.

    All the very best,

    James

  8. I hope the club will see this question since I had asked a few times before. Honestly I do not clearly know about the club''s financial situation, but if you look at other Championship club or League 1 club, they did not only have one sponsor on the shirt, they do have other sponsor, which their logo will print on the back of the shirt also the shorts, which I think it made the shirt looked really very nice and beautiful.

I recall we are still in debt in some money but it''s another season now, why do the club not consider to accept more sponsor? Football is very business mind nowadays and I don''t think any fans will doubt it, if there are more money invest to the playing squad. Please, please the club can consider that!

Of course the club will have the service to put the extra sponsor logo to the fans'' replica shirt! :)
Would be interesting to know if any of this season''s no-shows such as Thorne and MLJ were at the open day signing autographs?
Would anyone recognise them?
Good point [;)]
Maybe they were acting as the tea-lady, sorry, tea-man and everyone don''t know...;-)

I thought it was a well organised afternoon, plenty to do, lots of stuff to keep the kids occupied, an auction of shirts/pictures,  various stalls from various groups and lots of autographs being signed. Also the whole stadium was open to view, dressing rooms, treatment rooms, trophy room, executive boxes and posh seats.

Not all clubs do this for the fans so well done Norwich.
Once I went to Colney to see the players training, I saw a fans (not Norwich City) hold a lots of Norwich players photo, and when some players walking towards us, he seems "had many question mark above his head" -- he didn''t know who they are, so I point to him who is Jason Shackell, who is Gary Doherty and who is Craig Fleming; after 10 minutes, he had all his photos signed, and also give me a lift from Colney to the Forum. Thanks to him!

We had some general football chat inside the car, he told me he was not Norwich fans, he was instead the West Ham fans, he told me he''s been to many football clubs training ground, mostly Premiership, he said, they did not allow fans to see them training! Their training is not open to public! He said he went to Ipswich before, and they charge him 10 quids for that! WTF!

But, he said, Norwich City is the most friendly club (with certain reputation you know what I mean, of course you can always go to see Boston United training because they were training in a public park!)he had seen, the training is opening public and if you behave you will be alright. The coach, the manager, the players were so friendly, I absolutely agree with him.

So, what''s the Shacks and Doh photo gone? I am sure he put it on sale on e-bay!!! ;-)

The funniest bit of the auction was that someone paid £80 odd pounds for Peter Thorne''s shirt, auctioneer started the bidding at £20 and a man standing close to me shouting out Peter whooooo, oh him, I''ll give you 50p for it [:D]
HAHA! It was, but still think £80 is definitely too much for a reserve player...

    Thanks for your sharing! :)

I don''t really like posting negative things, but I was just wondering if there was an award for the most underwhelming player this season who would get your vote?

Personally I would nominate LEE CROFT- He has made little or no impact on virtually every game this season. His passing is average and his crossing is quite simply dreadful. Added to that is the fact that he poses little or no goal threat and has been guilty of some atrocious misses this season. For somebody who cost £600,000 (a lot by our standards) I think he has been extremely disappointing.
Disagree, he did play well in the games especially when I went to see him play during last October, he always want to take the full-backs on which is important. I think Thorne suerly deserved this award, lack of goals scored also got sub when he was a sub! TERRIBLE!!!

  13.

I''ve heard from several different sources that he wants out but until we hear that officially he''s still has a years contract to see out.
disagree.. after seeing how he was at the Lap of honour yesterday he is going to stay... he loves it here and the fans love him.. u could tell by his reaction to chanting his name.

    jas :)
On my last trip to Norwich, I met a few fans in Colney, and they said QUITE SURELY Safri MUST BE OUT in January 2007 because he had different ideas with Grant, but what''s happen? He''s still there. Rumor is rumor and we can only wait for everything is confirmed. Yes I agree with you jas about he love Norwich and we love him, no reasons he will go because when he is fit, same as Hucks he must be the first name on the team sheet.

  14. I am in Hong Kong so I am impossible to go to the Open Day today, so did anyone comeback from Open Day and what does it like? Did Hucks got the longest queue? How about the auction? Did all the players attend and what''s your experience with them? I would love to if Adam Drury and Andrew Cave-Brown sign many autograph? Please leave your story here!!! thanks! :)
