Agree with that motley. It is sad but preditable the reaction to this and i''m with you in the view that Nelson is a long long way behind Doc in terms of ability. Doc has been loyal and always puts in a shift. He''s not the greatest player but he''s a long way off being the worst. Good luck Doc.

Why can we not have a meat and potato pie on the menu, every match rather than the special match day pies. Jesus they come up with some strange combinations for those. And as for the tea, i like my tea strong but the stuff they serve is just stupid. -
After seeing Nelson 3 times now there is no choice. Doc is like Beckenbauer and Bobby Moore rolled into one compared to this guy! Nelson was truely appalling yesterday. 3 clean sheets it maybe but if anyone thinks its down to this guy they need to think again.

To be honest ''It''s only my opinion'' i''m not really one to start up a thread but normally on this occasion i would have but i got home from Brentford around 11.30 that night and had to be up again at 4 to drive to Portsmouth and catch a ferry to France so i didn''t have chance and by the time i''d got back from holiday the moment had sort of gone!
All i can say again is he seems a really nice bloke who is very very ambitious for our club and will do everything he can to meet those ambitions. He also said that he really hates losing which his wife would back up because she dosen''t get taken out on a Saturday night after a defeat!
I came away from chatting to him feeling that this club is undergoing a big change for the better. Surely no one can disagree that we''ve had too many years of not winning enough matches and if his attitude goes some way towards changing that then how can that be a bad thing.

I bumped into McNally at Heston services before the Brentford league game. As it was the day Lambert was announced he''d been all over SSN and was walking to his car and i asked him if he thought we''d win tonight. This was about 5.30 so you''d assume being a matchday he was a bit busy to say the least but he stood there and had a chat for a good ten minutes, in no way did he give the impression he was in a hurry to get away infact the only reason the chat ended when it did was because his phone rang, and he was going to ignore that.
He comes across as a really friendly bloke to talk too but the main thing that struck me was he is absolutely determined to make this club a success, that comes across straight away. He said he is prepared to ''put his tin hat on'' for a while regarding the sacking of Gunny because he felt that something wasn''t right at the club and a change was needed. He said theres lots of changes he wants to make to the way the clubs run but none of that can start until the team is winning matches and he is of the opinion that Lambert will work harder than anyone else to make sure that happens.
He understands that some people are not pleased about the way the Gunn sacking was done, he said Delia was upset about it and i said i felt the same but purely based on Gunny''s career here not because i thought he was a good manager. I was telling him that i have a season ticket and travel from Oxford and he was saying that he''s amazed at our fanbase and that it deserves a winning team and he''s going to do all he can to provide one. He want play-offs at the mininmum this year. Whatever you think of him the bloke has brought a change off attitude to the club and i came away thinking that we are going to start moving forward now at long last. Hope this is of some intrest.

Wantage, just across the border. -
Surely if he''s told you this then its a statment of intent, not a rumour. You must be a very trusted friend for him to have told you this imformation!
-
That would have been a bit difficult seeing as they stayed in the west country all week. -
Yes without doubt. -
Very good o.p. thanks for taking the time. As someone else asked what happened with Wes??? not heard anything about this until now.

After seeing Colin W. on SSN moaning about how skint Palace are if i were Gunn i''d offer him Russell and Cureton in a swap for Lee just to see if he''d go for it. Spin him bout Cureton losing confidence here but a change of scene and all that crap. I''d still like Lee here, you can''t have to many goalscorers. -
Spot on CanaryJames, all this slating of the ginger one is getting more than a bit boring now while as you rightly state the footballing genius Dejan who played what 12/13 games got sent off, gave away penalties and was seriously lacking any pace is the answer to all our defensive problems. -
Gunn has to go to the meeting, thats what he said in the Hughes video. -
Very well put USA. How that bloke can claim to be a supporter is beyond me. -
Well he''s a big lad alright so its no suprise he''s no speed merchant. Puts himself about a bit but i just dont think he looked that special. I think Lee would be a much better signing. I supose he took his goal against St Johnstone quite well and i didnt see the Airdrie game so i don''t know how he played there but i just think people are getting a bit excited cause he''s got a couple of goals. As for Bridges well he''s run about a bit and looked keen but i think the games just sort of passed him by. He had about 30 mins at Raith and played all the St Johnstone game and to me he made no real impression in either. I do think the Danish lad at the back looked pretty decent against St Johnstone however. -
Having been to the Raith and St Johnstone games i have to say i hope we get Lee. -
Echo that, congrats Matty. Bumped into him at Kinross services the morning after the Raith game and the bloke was quite happy to spend a few minutes chatting even though he was on the way to Newcastle for the the birth. Top bloke. Said he wants too stay as well. -
Agreed Otsemobor strolls round like he dosen''t give a toss, he''s bloody useless, get rid. -
How bloody stupid is that to say ''you won''t see him again''. The bloke looked like he was in tears at the end of the game. He looked the most up for it at the start of the game, going round having a word with the rest of them, shame they didnt take any notice. I dont know if you can read mate but he''s already said he wants to stay, and we need him. Whoevers in charge next season Alan Lee needs to be signed now!

Was thinking about doing one to advertise delias new book in her how too series. How too kill a football club! Avalable in waterstones soon. -
Whatever divison we''re in i don''t think i''d be to sad to see most of them go. In an ideal world i would want Doc, Cody, Shacks, Lee and Mooney as the starting point for next seasons squad. If its divison 3 as is likely then Shacks and Mooney won''t be back, Lee hopefully will stay whatever league we ''grace.''
Croft, Marshall, Clingan, Holahoop are not going to be here, no great loss. They can take Russell with them to. He''s been crap this season, probably sulking around wishing he was in the prem with Stoke. We need to bring in experiance though, we''ll never get out of league one with a team full of kids.
-
More slagging off the Worthy one Jas, that makes a change then. One bloody day you might realise if people like you hadn''t got him the sack we probably wouldn''t be on the verge of the 3rd divison and if he had come back in January we''d probably be safe looking forward to the summer now. -
Fathead Brazil, Butcher and Wilnis. An evening out with those three''s not top of my wish list.
-
I''d pay for Hoolahans taxi to Croydon to keep Lee even without Hucks. Lee and Hucks back next season would be fanbloodytastic. Whatever divison we''re in next season we have to keep Lee. On the Gow issue i''d rather have Mooney if its either or. Shacks must stay as well. Cant see Wolves wanting him in the prem and surely they must still owe us some fee installments so hopefully they''ll just forget them and let us keep him.

For me he''s the greatest ever for his love of everything Norwich and for the buzz whenever he got the ball because you knew that something special could be about to happen. I think it''s easy to forget now that he''s been associated with us for so long what a big deal it was when he first came on loan that Darren Huckerby was going to be playing for us.
