1.
Personally and FWIW I don''t think he will be sacked, I think he will walk first.
Sacked! For what exactly, this post is stupid there is no reason to sack him whatsoever, what exactly do you think another manager would do different.

    Pointless

  2. This forum seems to jump all over the place with regard to what everyone expects of the current NCFC team for this season. One minute all the posts are concerned with relegation the next we are play off hopefuls. IMO The team and backroom staff that we have are better than the ones we had last year, I support GR and believe that he can help us achieve promotion eventually. Of course there are disputes to be had over the team selections and tactics he uses. Like others I feel that Fotheringham is poor atm and should be dropped, I believe we should be more attacking and play with two wingers most likely Hoolahan and Croft, however it is not my choice to make. Any judgement of the team and the backroom staff should wait till the end of the year.

The realistic position for us should be mid-table this year. We do not have resources to fund a playing staff that can challenge the likes of Wolves, Reading Birmingham QPR etc, but we are better than Nott Forest, Barnsley etc so realistically we should be satisfied with mid-table this year.

Being satisfied and being happy are different, and any blame for us being a mid-table team is not the fault of GR it is the result of many issues, most of which have been discussed here at length. However it is worth saying that IMO the decision of Delias to overprice the club and not to negotiate with Peter Cullum is a significant issue that cannot be ignored. However this is my opinion and I accept that there will also be many who feel that she was right to hold out and demand some return on her investment. I think they are wrong!

I am interested to see what happens on the forum this year, will everyone actually accept that we are a medium size club with mid-table aspirations, or will we constantly bounce from people claiming we will be promoted on the back of one win and relegated on the back of a loss?

  3.
..........They''d have Huckerby on the bench to do something special in the last 15 minutes and to raise the expectancy level of the canary supporters. Instead we take off Croft and instantly accept that we''ll not create any more chances for the remainder of the game.
Seriously, do people like you support Norwich or Darren Huckerby! Its ridiculous how people keep posting abot Huckerby, we are in a new season with a new squad either get over it or move to America with your idol.If Carlsberg moderated internet forums they would definately block the use of Huckerby!

  4.
Has his faults, granted, mainly that he plays sideways too often (and is scared to shoot!), but he really isn''t that bad a player. He is getting a lot of undeserved stick on here - he is a good footballer, with two good feet, and there is a place for him at the moment. If clingan were fit, then he should occupy that role, but at present Fozzy is doing a role for the team and needs our support.
Fozzy is not performing a role for the team.He has had one good performance for NCFC since arriving here, at the beginning of last season he did have a game where he was good, he got injured prior to the game ending and since returning has never looked like influencing a game. He does not appear to be a leader, and is not inspiring the team, we only have to look at the recent performances, although creditable hardly earth shattering!imo Russell would be far better in midfield, give the captaincy to Stefanovic, he has experience at a higher level, better intelligence on the pitch and is a far better player than Fotheringham will ever be.You say Fotheringham is not a bad player yet you also accept that he is scared to shoot and passes sideways too often! This is a little contradictory if a midfielder lacks the ability to pass and is not able to create or score goals, then surely they are not good?It is Norwich fans that are happy with the standard of players like Fotheringham that really frustrate me, it is these same people who will defend Cureton for ever simply because he dyed his hair green years ago, never mind the fact that he is tripe. Fotheringham should be dropped, he offers nothing and is not fit to play for City.

  5. Lucky Green, I totally agree with your comments, if enthusiasm alone counted then he would deserve a place, but as you have said his legs have gone and league 1 would suit him far better. I really do not believe that he has the physiacl attributes left within him to be more than a backup squad player for use in emergencies only, however as reflected by Wizards comments some people really do see him as a returning hero who will be worth his weight in gold later in the season.

I hope I am wrong but its time for him to meet up with Dion, Iwan etc for retirement planning. Or maybe he could go play in the USA?

  6. “My main concern is to get in the team. The goals at the moment aren''t too big a deal because I''m not playing - 20 minutes here or there, if I don''t score in that period I don''t put that down as too bad.

“It''s when I start that I really think about that side of it. But at the moment it''s just trying to do as much as possible in that 20 minutes to get that starting berth. If I keep doing that, wait and see. I''ve just got to bide my time and hope I get in.”

Quote taken from todays evening news. Maybe his lack of scoring is not a big deal for him as he feels its only 20 mins here and there, but what about the fact that other than friendlies its 6 months since he scored. Also what about people like OJ who would probably love 20 mins a match to try and score?

A goal only takes seconds to score, why does Cureton feel that he should be able to justify not scoring when he is only on 20 minutes? Plenty of players have come on as subs and had an impact regardless of the time they were on the pitch.

If he truly is trying to do as much as possible, then I think that he should be worried about not scoring and needs to concentrate all his efforts on hitting the back of the net. He has not been an influence in the team since arriving from Colchester and I for one would really rather see others such as OJ and Lupoli given oppurtunities. He really is lucky that he is able to bide his time!

  7. Its surprising that anyone can really remember what he plays like, I am not even sure that he has finished an entire match for us yet? I would imagine that he is on decent wages and I am surprised that GR did not try and get rid over the close season (maybe he did and there were no takers). from what I have seen, primarily under Grant he was no world beater and has very little to offer, he seemed to lack focus and drift out of position, admittedly that may have been rants instructions?? Either way it would seem that it would be a better situation for all if he were to move on to pastures new, nothing against him, its simply not been much of a transfer for either player nor club.I do have a slight concern that we never hear him interviewed or anything and I hope I am wrong but he is not likely to move sideways without a wage cut, maybe he is happy here at costa del ?

  8. I really hope that you are wrong about the clause, I for one rate Marshall and have done since he arrived. We have already heard Doncaster and Munby talk about selling players to raise cash. We dont have many but I think that Marshall is one of the only playing assets we have, and one that would certainly be looked at by other clubs.

  9. Have to disagree 100% Drury passing is poor, he only has one real pass where he will chip the ball into a hopefull area on the left side, he certainly does not have a range of passing skills to draw upon. Also going forward he has always struggled, it is rare that he does launch a foray upfield, but when he does it is very rare that it comes to much.

Dont get me wrong I loike Drury and think that he is a solid left back. Unfortunately that is all he is. He is not creative or versatile, whereas imo Bertrand is and he offers the team much more over 90 mins.

  10. Looks like I have to accept that rusty was not as good as i had thought, maybe just comparing to Fotheringham made me see him favourably? re: Drury, was good to see him back, he did what he does well, but I for one do think that Bertrand has everything that Drury has, plus some. Bertrand is a more rounded player, more intelligent in his reading of the game and much better passer of the ball.

  11. This has probably been discussed yesterday, but imo outstanding displays from all three of them against Sheffield. Would have made marshall mom, due to save prior to Crofty breaking away and scoring. However would not argue with anyone giving mom to either of the others. First time in a long time that I felt proud of some of our players, nice feeling to have back.Any thoughts?

  12. Wizard, there was no reference to wednesday in particular, Cureton has not come up with the goods ever sice he transferred here. I think that based on his form for over a season now he simply should not be guaranteed a place in the matchday squad. Nobody else is guaranteed the place, GR likes to talk up competition for places, yet Cureton seems able to appear in the squad regardless of many, many lacklustre performances.
