1. You beat me to it with this post mate! I saw that Preston are looking to loan him out and i reckon if Lambert really wants another striker in on loan then Paul Hayes is as good a player as hes going to be able to sign as there just isn''t any really decent strikers available for loan at the moment.

It hasn''t really worked out for Hayes at Preston but i must admit that i have always liked him and thought he was a player we let go too easily.

This is a good shout and i have a feeling with the players he would have around him at Norwich he would start to thrive again. Paul Hayes is as good and as realistic name tha has been mentioned as a loan signing so far on these message boards. Would be very welcomed by me :-)

  2. My source is nothing more than a mate who text me today and he only got this info. Off of a work colleague.

I''ll share what i''ve been informed anyway though because i love being ripped apart for sharing info. From the plonkers on these message boards.

I was told that Norwich are working hard to getba striker in on-loan with a view to a possible permanent deal and are using Simeon Jackson as bait in any deal to sweeten other clubs into letting a stat player go. My mate mentioned 2 players names with one being Adam LeFondre at Rotherham and the other is Adam Rooney at Inverness CT.

Have no more info. Apart from that guys.

  3. I happen to believe what i was told would be correct. It certainly reflects the peronalities of both managers from what i''m believed to know of them both.

I went to school with Ryan and Rossi Jarvis and through friends of theirs who i know they have said that Ryan and Rossi couldn''t stand Roeder. His training and man-management skills and mathods left littel to be desired and that he really is a horrible, horrible, dis-respectful man.

I know for a fact that, that fact is shared by others players from around that time too.

And i can almost see Lambert standing there putting up with no rubbish from Russell. So i certainly believe what i was told.

Was just an in-sight to the pair of them

  4. Howdy all

Went to get my hair cut the other day and my hair dresser said he cuts the hair of one of the groundsmen who work at Carrow Road and Colney.

He said towards the end of last season this groundsmen was outside Colney having just prepared one of the training pitches for the players and Lambert stood near to him (within ear-shot) and Darel Russell had just then turned up 20 minutes late for training. Lambert asked Russell if he had signed his contract yet, in which Russel replied stating there was a couple of things within the contract that he wasn''t happy with. Lambert then told Russell that if he isn''t prepared to sign the contract which had been on the table for some time and bearing in mind he was 20 minutes late then he wasn''t able to train with the squad. Russell argued again that there was just some things in the contract that he wasn''t happy with but Lambert was having none of it and Russell got back in his car and went home.

He also said that every day they train Lambert will have the respect to ask the groundsmen which pitch the groundsmen would like the players to train on and will embrace them in conversation.

When Roeder was at the club the groundsmen stated that Roeder would demand that the groundsmen get off which ever pitch at Colney the groundsmen were preparing (even if it was half finished) and they would have to get off there and then. (Bearing in mind there are how many pitches at Colney? 7 or 8!?)

Roeder never acknowledged the grounds staff and the guy stated he was the rudest man he had seen at the club.

Just thought i''d share this as i thought it was a useful piece of info. based on 2 very different managers.

    Enjoy!

  5.
Do kids not have school today?

Cameron Jerome who is 1st choice at Birmingham and being followed by other Prem clubs will not drop down a division.
I never said my source was correct, was just sharing what i''ve been told!

And as for him not dropping down a division ..... that''s rubbish because Bellamy was tracked by prem clubs but stepped down a level and so did Yakubu. There were prem clubs tracking Huckerby before we signed him, so that comment has no substance i''m afraid.

I agree, Jerome coming here is unlikely but it would be very welcomed if my source is true!

  6. Just been informed by a (hopefully) reliable source that Lambert is trying to land him on-loan with a view to a permanent signing! Would LOVE this to be true by the way, i think he''s class!

Apparently a lot of clubs are trying to sign him though so i seriously doubt he would join us but stranger things have happened!

Don''t know where we would stand with his wages though as i can imagine him being on quite a bit!

  7. Hi All,

I''ve not been a regualr poster on here but have always been a regular viewer.

Was just kind of wondering who everybody is on here and a bit about yourselves and who are the numpties and who are the cool peeps on here?

I''ll set the ball rolling: -

I''m Jamie, 26 year-old male, live in Norwich. Supported City since 8 years old.

Favourite current player = Russell Martin

    Faveourite past player(s) = Iwan Roberts/Darren Huckerby/Darren Eadie/Malky Mackay/Andy Johnson

Not really sure what else to put about myself without making thsi sound like a lonely hearts ad! LOL!

  8. Nugent is a good call. Very good player at this level.

I''ve had a look at Shane Long''s goal scoring record for Reading and it isn''t as impressive as i first thought. He''s currently having his best season goal-wise. 34 goals in 154 appearances overall.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shane_Long

Now i know this has been at a lower level, but Charlie Austin''s goal-scoring record since he became a pro is incredible! All together 177 goals in 210 appearances. Although the standard of football does matter, it''s still an incredible record.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Austin

Or how about Nicky Maynard? Pretty decent goal scoring record too: -

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicky_Maynard

I have also always liked Billy Sharp.

    Thoughts!?

  9. Get these two players signed-up and we will have a fantastic chance to get a top 2 spot this season!

    MF: - Elliot Bennet (Brighton)

    ST: Shane Long (Reading)

We all know how we are crying out for a different dimension and a bit of pace and width in some matches this season. Bennet is ideal and will chip in with some goals too. Reported that we have had a £1m bid rejected, so maybe get our man for around £1.4m.

Shane Long - superb striker. Great in the air and on the floor, guarentee''s you goals at this level and don''t think he would be out of place in the premiership either. He is in fine form at the moment and would be perfect along-side Holty.

Obviously cost is always an issue, but i am guessing we have a bit of money to play with (how much that is is anybody''s guess?) but i reckon a bid of around £1.5 - £2m would get us Long.

If Long is an unachievable target then Charlie Austin is worth a gamble from Swindon, as is Adam Le Fondre at Rotherham, but i would much rather see a striker come in who guarentee''s goals at this level and has the experience to match.

Marvin Sordell is also another player who would be well worth a look.

I think Chrissy Martin is great and his general team play can''t be questioned but he''s not going to get the amount of goals required to be classed as prolific at this level. Jackson isn''t up to it either. For me, if we really wanted to show a statement of intent and really go for it, then Shane Long is the man to sign - And it''s not as unrealistic as some of you may make it out to be either.

  10. For gods sake!  Let it be will you!  I bet your the type of person who sits in your arm chair with a pen and note pad waiting for the slightest expletive like ''flipping heck'' to be said on Emmerdale or Corrie so you can write to watch dog and complain!  Or even still, be up against your TV screen with a ruler as Pat Butcher is showing 23% too much cleavage in Eastenders..............ok, i would complain about the last one! lol, but my point is..........Nugent had a bit of a laugh at the fans and with the fans.  We called him all sorts yet he took it in his stride and had a little go back!  What did he do that was that bad?  Hand against his ear, keepie uppies with the ball on his head, massive cheesy grin at us all, and just having banter!  If the fans then react in a violent way then it''s the fans who have the problem!  It''s character and football, and if you misinterperate that for an excuse for a fight and react like a complete knob then you''re the one with the problem!  Wish there was more players like Nugent around!  And for the record, he tore us apart BIG TIME!  End of!

  11. I remember players doing stuff which was humerous and winding fans up years and years ago when i was very little and i remember laughing and couldn''t wait to get home and tell my family about the game and them sort of things would always be the main thing i would talk about to them!  lol!

Football needs more characters!  I embrace what Nugent did Saturday!

  12. Why on earth is everybody on here having a go about Nugent''s behaviour on Saturday?  I admit i was giving him plenty of abuse for what he was doing at the time, but it was with tongue in cheek though, as i think it''s excellent that there are still footballers who have that bit of character about them!

I remember years ago, players like Flecky doing the same thing and Holty does it now!  It was harmless banter between player and fans and like i said, i gave him abuse at the time, but walking out of the ground with other fans we all agreed that it was actually a laugh and pleasant to see a player having some banter with the supporters.

At games nowadays, you can sit there watching players, but feel so out of touch with them that you might as well be watching on the moon!  It was good to see him acknowledge us!  And at the end of the day as soon as he switched to the right hand side he tore us to shreds!  That was the old Nugent from his Preston days on Saturday!

So no pathetic posts about ''reporting him'' please...........what is the point!?  I embrace players who can have banter with the fans, it''s what football is all about!  Bring fun back into it!  It''s like how much Stephen Ireland got ridiculed for showing his pants to away fans!  It''s just a laugh, get over it!

Not so sure on throwing the ball at the referr though :-/

  13. Hi guys,

For those of you interested, i have created a group on facebook named ''Green Army - NCFC fans group''

You can chat about anything on here, but the main purpose is for sharing stories, experiences, pictures and video''s from Norwich home and away games.

We already have nearly 100 members since it started tonight so if you have any cool pictures or vids you would like to share then it would be cool to see you add them to the group.

    Cheers all

  14. I was trying to think of a worst ever Norwich XI based on from when i first started watching Norwich and based purely on players who i have seen play live.  Can anybody else think of anybody else to fit into this Worst XI steming from the 1994-1995 relegation season in the premiership until now.

    GK: Simon Tracey

    LB: Fernando Derveld

    CB: Steve Walsh

    CB: ?

    RB: Jon Otsemobor

    LW: Raymond De Waard

    CM: Julien Brellier

    CM: Pape Diop

    RW: Matthias Jonson

    ST: Peter Thorne

    ST: Elvis Hammond

Other rubbish players i could think of include: -

De Blasis, Strihavaka (who never got a chance), Whaley, Abbey, Ryan Jarvis, Theo, Keith Scott, Olf Otosson, Kevin Scott, Jurgen Colin.

I''m sure there are hundreds more.  Any idea''s people?

  15. I have recently posted an Andrew Surman song on here, which you all agreed you quite liked.

Can we get this song going when he''s back fit and able!!!!

Also, thought up one for Elliot Ward (To the tune of ''Lord of the dance'' - I think!? LOL)

    Ward, Ward

    Plays for City

Din''t cost fu@k all, we got him on a free

Good on the ground and up in the air

Wins the ball and we all fu@king cheer...........(repeat)

Also.............WE REALLY NEED TO GET THE St Pauli song going, but our own version obviously!

The atmosphere needs to improve on a match day!  There are far too many fans simply happy to sit and moan and not participate in what being a football fan is all about...........cheering your team on, singing, having fun, banter with the fans etc

I really wish all area''s of the ground sung, would make for an incredible match experience for everybody and how intimidating for the away fans and team!!!!

  16. Looking at this from a financial point of view based on promise and potential i would have to say that Korey Smith is our most valuable asset in our side at the moment.  With the current market the way it is i reckon he would be worth a good £1.5m to a side to buy him now.

If he continues the way he has started the season and has a good, solid season at this level then i would expect his value to rise to anything around £3-3.5m.

Good, solid young players like Korey Smith do not come along very often.  There will be clubs sniffing around soon and i''m sure our club has the sense to knock back any offers for him.

If you think back to the season when we got relegated, we didn''t have any players who were worth very much?  The ones who did went, such as Marshall, Clingan and Croft, but we didn''t get massive fee''s for any of these.

You look at our side now though!  If Chris Martin scores another 15-20 goals this season then you can expect him to have a value to us of around £2.5m.  Same with players like Surman and Hoolahan.  Even given that Holty is now the wrong side of 30, he would still command a fee in excess of £1m easily.

Not that i''m wishing for any players to leave should i add, but it''s good to see that there are players there who have a bit of value to them - which means they are quality players.

What would you value our current squad at?

  17. I will just post the original tune again: -

(To the tune of - "Your are my sunshine")

    You are our Surman

    Our Andrew Surman

    You joined the City........

    From Scummy Wolves

    We want to tell you.........

    How much we love you

    For wearrrrrrrrrring Yellow, not Gold

    Laaaaaaaa, la, la, la, la

    Laaaaaaaa, la, la, la, la

    La, la, la, la, la

    La, la, la, laaaaaaaaaaaaa!

  18. What are the chances of us all getting this song started at the game on Saturday?  I know i''m promoting my own tune here, but it''s been going through my head alot while i''m at work, and i reallt do think this could catch on!  I''m going to give it a go in the pub before the match on Sat!  What are the chances i''m singing alone though! LOL

  19. GJP - You make a good point, BUT...............

Last season was the first season that the ''Doc was really taken into the hearts of the fans IMO.  He may have won palyer of the season in the Championship a few years back but that was only because everybody else was so poor he was the simple choice.  But with the long ball ''all in the air'' style of League One central defenders like Doc will look superb, because they haven''t got nippy, pacey strikers like Earnshaw, Chopra, Sharp, Paterson to name a few running at him and turning him all over the place.

I distinctly remember the vast majority of people phoning up canary call the last 2 or 3 seasons we were in the Championship saying how poor Doherty was and that we should get rid of him.  It was the same opinion in the stands too.  As much as we adore Doc, he would always do 5 brilliant things in a game and then one really stupid thing that would cost us dearly.  I think that''s why people find it hard now to make a judgement on whether letting him go was a good call or a bad one?

Personally myself i would love to have him sitting there as back-up, but that''s never going to happen, as he will want and deserves to be playing first team football.

Doherty used to infuriate me beyond anger!  Some of the things he used to do at Championship level football were ridiculous.  And he had numerous sending''s-of too (Burnley at home comes to mind) fast player running at him, he slips over, but instead of laving it there he swept his arm out and brought teh player down - down to 10 men!

All in all, Doc was at Norwich during a very lean period in the clubs history, and apart from last season (In League one) there was nothing for Doc to cheer about being a city player with teh club being succesful.  I think if we would have been dependant on Doc again next season as our leading centre half then i wouldn''t be as confident as i am now.

To sum it up, i really do think at this stage in his career (especially) he is a Top quality League one player.  But would get turned and out-paced all over the place in the Championship.  The proof is in the past........until last season, he was regarded as a joke and a donkey by many.

Wish him all the best at Charlton.

  20. Have just been informed that we are in talks with Bradley Orr from Bristol City and that talks are at an advanced stage.  We have had a bid accepted, which i was told is a good price for a good player due to him only having a year left on his contract.

Think this guy plays as a right back - so makes alot of sense!  I''ve just had a look on skysports.com and it says on there that he is set to leave Bristol City but doesn''t say who too though?

Hope my source isn''t having me on - didn''t seem to be!
