1. BBB, I am sorry but your memory is failing you. This is the first season since the prem that we have not been told this - spot the common denominator (Doomy!!). Surely I am not the only one that remembers this or have I been transported to some parallel universe where things look similar but are not quite the same!!! I repeat again, I can understand why the club took the course of action (i.e. to bank the profits) but this does not excuse their strategy of knowingly trying to hoodwink their paying customers. Not many businesses that attempt to do this prosper - think Hoover.
2. Come on Vince! This is not an isloated example as at least two others have reported the same problem. Do you know what the problem is and will it get sorted?
3.

perhaps someone could find a few examples of other clubs who had an affordable playing budget of 10% or less of their income in that year?
Not many clubs would go to the lengths of providing profit and loss accounts in the local press either.
Not many clubs would go to the lengths of providing profit and loss accounts in the local press either.
Not many clubs would continually spin msitruths to its fans such as every year since we left the prem "the manager will be given all the proceeds of transfers to reinvest in the team". The accounts quite clearly show that every year we make a big profit on transfers and that our wage bill is not growing (to counter the claim that it is all getting spent on wages instead). I can see why the club has had to do it, but the what really sticks in my throat is that the club has attempted to continually con its customer base. This can only end in tears at some point.
4. IE7 which I have had for somewhile. This has only been a problem in the last week. It happens the first time I try to post every time. The way round this is to click back and to reopen the post window which solves the problem. I seem to recall I am not alone in this as someone else posted about this last week. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
5. Nexus, I was impressed by how much running and tracking our front two did last night. They worked their socks off and this disrupted the build up of their play. I just hope that they can keep this up when there is two matches a week. In particular, the way Holt plays he is bound to pick up injuries.
6. Vince, Can anyone explain to me how I can post when those adverts at the botom obscure the ''post'' button? This is becoming really tiring.
7.

[:D][:D]
Erm, freebie fan? I am typing this in a dodgy Travelodge outside Yeovil. I paid to stand on the terrace. I pay to watch City home and away whenever my work allows, and have done for 31 years, since I left the EDP and moved away from Norfolk. I know I shouldn''t be so sensitive but the idea that I don''t understand because I accept an invite to go to Carrow Road as a guest a couple of times a season is bonkers. See you at Brentford? Some great chants tonight, by the way. I loved: "Sit down if you hate the scum." I am so relieved after watching an away win -- was the last one QPR? I paid to watch that as well -- that I am going to write a column for Waghorn before sleep.
You are undoubtably scum of the earth, your pitiful rant after the fans diplay of discontent after the worst display from a Norwich team in living memory (Charlton  FA cup replay last season) was nothing short of a joke.
It''s smashing being scum of the earth (I had to rewrite some of Charlie Catchpole''s showbiz but that''s irrelevant although not to Kelvin at the time.  (FFS what does that mean?  (I am sure he has fond memories like me.)  "Look,  just ****** turn it round.  Roy, there''s a rewrite coming on that Catchpole crap.[:D]) What Mick wrote was an inside colour piece on GR and the effect as he attempted to do after the Colchester game.  It is a side of football which is rarely covered.  I am sure he wouldn''t expect to get plaudits from a football message board but you write what you want and hard ******* luck to anyone who does not like it. PS: We''ve just destroyed another MP''s career this end.  Monstrously good feeling.  [:D][:D] The MP won''t like it either but hard ******* luck. Upset a message board.  Upset an MP? Go for it!
Cam, Can you translate this for me?
8. Good post Mr C - but there is hardly anyone in the media  - including the quality broadsheets who ever bothers to do their own research.
9. Nutty, I will PM nearer the next midweek game if you are interested in meeting up for a pint?
10. Nutty, Unfortunately I cant make Exeter. I run my own business and stay away most of the week and at weekends I have spen time with a young family. So I am hoping to make as many of the midweek/holiday period games as possible.
11. Shaun, I did not say leave him out of the team, but rather he should not be overplayed this season as he is still devloping. Although he played well last night he needs to grow in confidence coming forward and running with the ball. He is clearly going to be a class player and I think he will be in the prem within three years, especially as he fills out. He is going to be huge one day and reminds me of Patrick Viera.
12. The last thing we need at the moment is rotation. It is obvious that we are still learning to play together as a team and last night suggested to me that we need a settled team for a few matches until we can get some momemtum.
13. Mick Dennis report http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter.com/full_article.asp?i=4818 I agree with everything he said about the match iteself.
14. Some more interesting comments from Yeovil fans on the Ciderspace website: “I think disintegrates is a strong word... we lost our shape, and a very, very good looking Norwich team took full advantage. Sure we weren''t great, but we''ve played bad before at HP, and not been taking apart that badly. If they don''t go straight back up, I''ll eat my hat.”   “With all that said, Norwich are never ever going to be the whipping boys Saturday''s result suggested... tonight just reaffirmed my belief they will go straight back up. Well worthy of the 4-0 scoreline.”   “Don’t think we played as well as we did against Tranmere, but saying that, Norwich were extremely good yesterday I think. Extremely quick in closing us down, didn''t give us time on the ball, I for one am still optimistic though.”
15. Nexus, Put it this way, having seen Whaley play in the flesh tonight, I can see why Preston fans were not upset at his departure and many of their comments about him appear to ring true for me already.
16. I think Spillane has got what it takes. He has really filled out and with a season at Luton under his belt should be ready as long as the fans forgive him the odd mistake - he is miles better that Semi defensively and looks to be quite useful going forward too. He hit a belter of a shot in an otherwise dull first half.
17.
Is this a worry? A lot of people saying Whaley played like a headless chicken apart from one nice cross. So would you play Paul McSmall there? Is Korey Smith back from injury? Would you play Stephen Hughes out there?
No Hughes must be played in the middle.
18. Nexus, With Hoolihan in the side, it is critical that we have a solid defensive midfielder who does the clearing up. Gill is not a flaior player, but made some really important tackles tonight. My worry is that a CM pairing of Gill and Tudur-Jones is way too defensive and this will stifle our creativity. For me Hughes did enough tonight to warrant a run in the team. We are not going to get out of this league playing hoofball and we now have not one but two strikers who are hungry and on fire, if we can keep them supplied we will score plenty of goals which may compensate for some defensive frailty, but with Spillane and Askou in the side, we have quite a big back four.
19. Shyster, I agree. A fit Stefanovic is better than the Doc. He still does way too much cuddling for my liking and will struggle against sides with better inventivity and pace than Yeovil. However, his performances vary hugley depending upon who he is paired with and Askou provided more stability which meant that his confidence grew - this has got to be a good thing given that he looks to be Fester''s first choice pick.
20.

Can you give us a whole team match ratings break down anyone who was at the game ?? Subs were : Hughes - Gill around the 50 -60 ( i think )                   Maric - Cody Mac around 80 - 85
So only 2 ... again? That worries me ...
That''s not quite right: didn''t Lappin come on for Eileen? And why should it worry you if he only used 2 subs anyway, Shaun? Just because you''ve got six bullets in a gun, you don''t have to use ''em all to kill a man.
Hackney, You are quite right, but really worries me is that Fester may get over confident. He has stumbled upon what looks like a decent first 11 minus Whaley. What worries me most is that he will tinker with squad rotation rather than trying to devlop some momemtum with a regular starting 11. Lets hope I am wrong.
21. Whaley is not as good as Croft and I was not Crofts biggest fan. I think he will drift out of the first 11. Adyemi is still young and developing his role and I think it would be wrong to overplay him this season. If we are going to play Hughes and Hollihan together, we need someone like Gill in the side to provide some stiffness. I would worry about Drury''s ability bto last 46 games, because he is going to get through a lot of work with Hoolihan in front of him and I think we are going to need a more athletic LB - which is probablly why we have bought Wiggins. Maric reminds me of Dean Ashton and appears to have a physical presence if not the work rate of Holt.
22.
Can you give us a whole team match ratings break down anyone who was at the game ?? Subs were : Hughes - Gill around the 50 -60 ( i think )                   Maric - Cody Mac around 80 - 85
Lappin came on for Drury around the 70 minute mark
23. Nexus, Ratings are not my cup of tea really but hear goes: Alnwick 7 - looked comfortable and confident but needs to shout more Spillane 8 - He has filled out and looks very solid and provides an attacking threat. Askou - 8 He looks classy and more importantly after the first ten minutes, he managed to bring more confidence out of the doc. Pete cant have been at the same match as me. Docherty 7 - Did nothing wrong really apart from a few precarious slices in the penalty area. However, he still holds too much and gives away too many free kicks - meaning suspensions Drury 7- Had a quite game and still feeling hsi way back, but made some good interceptions Whaley 6 - He created Holts first goal, but I am far from convinced and I think he not a first 11 regular in my opinion, but he may need time to settle Adyemi 7 - He created a goal for Holt, and looks like he is going to be a prem player at some stage, but for me lacked the confidence to get foward more, ne his better than a simple defensive midfield player and needs to be given time to devlop. I would worry about over playing him at the momemnt. Gill - 7 Made some really good tackles, but did not offer much going forward and now looks injured Hoolihan - 9 Without him we would have been playing hoofball Hughes - 8 I was impressed with him and the first time since Mulryne or Crooky, we look to have a player with composure and the ability to pass well. McDonald - 9 A real handful all night with abhuge work ethic and pace. The only negative is that he is so hungry to score that he sometimes lacked composure, but this will come with an extended run in the side Holt 9 - A real handful phsyicaly and won everything in the air in the second half. He has a real work ethic and undertstanding with Cody. Lets hope he can last the season as he throws himself about. At least we have a back up in Maric. Lappin and Maric did have long enough to shine, but I like what I saw of Maric, he is a srong player. Lets hope that Fester does not get over confident and realises that he has the nucleus of a regular first 11 here, with the possible exception of Whaley and for reasons I have outlined above, Adyemi. I would like to see Hughes start the next match.
