1. I''ll always remember when Huckerby let Graham Stuart know ''how it was done'' against Arsenal in the Premier League season. The ball dropped nicely for Stuart to have a go, but completely mis-kicked it. The ball went flying back to the man himself, Darren Huckerby, who had taken the corner - so Huckerby picked it up, smashed it towards goal, and it flew into the top corner. An excellent goal to sum up an excellent footballer.

2. I''ve looked through all the leagues and I was ever so tempted to go along with Real Madrid as it does look like the best option. However, I''ve changed my mind and I will throw another possibility into the games for Wazzock to chose from. In picking this team I''m also doing something I very rarely do - back the away team to win!

Galatasaray are joint top of the Turkish league having won all of their 5 games, scoring 17 times in the process! Their opponents, Kasimpasa SK, are bottom having lost each of their games. Their two home games have resulted in 3-1 and 4-0 losses - these were not even against strong opposition.

Kasimpasa SK V Galatasaray - Away win [:O]!

(None of that was my idea, btw. Just using the lyrics from the song sung at Brentford. Something along those lines anyway ...)

4. Yes! I''ve been out all day and only just got back - all I had was a brief check when England kicked off so I knew Russia and Ukraine had gone to plan. I thought the best way to check how the others got on was to read this thread through. That got my heart pounding! I thought I had lost it a few times when I saw games were stuck at 0-0, and then I thought Spain had blown it when ''Norwich'' thought it was 0-0 [:O]

I''m glad I didn''t mess that up, really happy! Thanks for everybody''s kind words, and of course all the excellent picks [:)] It''s been good fun again, but this time it came off [Y] Not a massive win, but a win nonetheless! Also thanks for Nutty Nigel, of course, for giving me the opportunity.

Good luck whoever is in next week, and all following weeks for that matter.

I''ve also been considering the fact that, lots of these international games are very poor odds - so should I chose games that are more likely to win us a greater amount? I have decided against that as I know Nutty and especially Ray have always said winning something is winning nothing, even if it is only a tenner. With that in mind I''ve picked the games that are most likely to come thorugh, regardless of odds. So here it goes ...

6. England V Slovakia - home win (Gentleman Jim, Will take 2nd now)
After Fabio Cappelo''s team have beaten the likes of Germany and held the likes of Holland, I originally put this as one of my definate selections. Though, after looking at how Slovenia have been doing in qualifying so far, I decided not tp pick it. Now I have come to the conclusion that they haven''t had a very tough group - and that surely they will get defeated by England.

I meant Slovenia.

7. OK - I''m gonna post my final selections now as I have time, which I may not have later. Sorry for any pickers that haven''t got their selection in on time - but I have lots to consider. I found it harder than I thought this week, and finally I''ve got it down to a certain 4, with the final 2 possibly changing between now and when I finally click the ''post'' button.

I have decided against that as I know Nutty and especially Ray have always said winning something is winning nothing, even if it is only a tenner. With that in mind I''ve picked the games that are most likely to come thorugh, regardless of odds. So here it goes ...

1. Russia V Liechtenstein - home win (ncfcstar, YankeeCanary, methcanary, scooby, graham humphrey)
6th world seed against the 151st - nothing else needs to be said.

2. Spain V Belguim - home win (Diesel Coris, city-till-i-die, inch_high, the butler, jellytot)
The european champions take on a team that didn''t even reach the competition, at home.

3. Ukraine V Andorra - home win (trent canary, pboro_canary, fonejacker, newyorkcanary, beausant, obiwancanary, delias DD, mister chops, norfolkbroadslim)
Picked by so many pickers. the 170 places between them in the world rankings suggests this is a good selection as well.

4. Croatia V Belarus - home win (Nutty Nigel, Sparkos)
One of my less confident choices, but I felt that with every single game other than the three above. Belarus are doing OK in the group but I can''t see them getting anything from Croatia at home.

5. Georgia V Italy - away win (North-east-canarie)
I can''t believe this game was only picked by one picker, which was one of the main reasons I was put-off. Another was that I didn''t want to pick any away games - as this is hwere upsets are most common. But after looking at the other games available and having a look at how these two have been doing in qualifying - I''ve decided to go with it.

6. England V Slovakia - home win (Gentleman Jim, Will take 2nd now)
After Fabio Cappelo''s team have beaten the likes of Germany and held the likes of Holland, I originally put this as one of my definate selections. Now I have come to the conclusion that they haven''t had a very tough group - and that surely they will get defeated by England.

Many other games nearly got in to the final six, the blue square prem games that were suggested were both nearly in. However, I didn''t want to go for Oxford as they were away - and although Forest Green have not won a single game, I would have liked to have seen Cambridge a bit higher up the league.
Leeds'' welsh game was a good choice, but I was put off by the fact that Connah''s Quay were sitting mid table rather than at the bottom.
Fellas choice of the USA was in and out of the final 6 - but eventually the fact that they drew 2-2 in their previous fixture put me off that one.
Germany to beat South Africa was considered after being picked by ''panic'', but I decided againt it - mainly as it was a friendly and so Germany would be ''less up for it''. Same goes for Holland against Japan.
I also decided against the Leeds game as Stockpot are not doing terribly, and Leeds have to lose at some point.

It''s always interesting to watch a manager during a game, I suppose it''s one of the few ways to ever know what they really think.

I wonder what Maric''s future holds if he didn''t impress last night judging by what you said, although he did get the assist for Martin''s goal.
Yeah - but he still managed to mess that up. Was an awful pass considering how simple it was to pull off. He made Martin stop his run and come back on himself as the ball was behind him.

I don''t mean to come across harsh or whatever, I''m just interested why everybody thinks CUSDP knows everything. I know he''s supposed to have got things right in the past - but what things? All I''ve seen is him mention Maric going out on loan - which doesn''t appear to be true as he''s now set to play against Brentford.

Just interested that''s all.
Come on Shaun, CUSDP is one of the only posters on here that I will trust when it comes to a rumour.  He''s called everything right for a while now, including, because others didn''t mention the recall of Cureton to the starting 11.

I''m sure he doesn''t appreciate posts like this though, he will post if he has the chance, and barryevans needs to bugger off.
Sorry, as I said - I was just curious as I must have missed all the times his word has come true. I''m not doubting it, was simply asking. I didn''t intend to criticise ''CUSPD'' in any way.
