1.
I am currently at Loughborough (3rd year) studying Politics and Business Management, but like yourself, the idea of Journalism is the route I want to go down. So I''m currently debating doing a 1 yr course at Harlow College next year or not.
After university I''m probably going to do an NCTJ (I think that''s the abbreviation) course. It''s 6 months or something and it is really highly regarded by employers in that industry as it teaches you how to really be a journalist. So I''ve heard.

Gonna need it, as i''ve taken Law, History, Psychology and English Language...
What time are most people getting them?
9.30am for me.

My subjects were Maths (need an A) and Chem, ICT and Physics (needs two Bs from those). None are certainties, could go either way!

All the best to everyone else. [Y]

ABB - exactly what I need from the 3 subjects I''m keeping (Government&Politics, ICT and English Language).

Where do you want to go? My first choice at the minute is Sheffield. Others include Leicester, Leeds, Newcastle, Loughborough, etc.

If you choose Leicester, and I am assuming you mean the real one, not DMU then you will not regret it, I guarantee it.
Yep. The real University of Leicester - lol. I absolutely loved it when I went to have a look around. It''s currently my first choice but I suspect Sheffield will overtake it as I have not yet been to see Sheffield.

The best three years of my life, I wish I was going back next year.  I hope you get in mate, it is seriously amazing, although the Union is shut next year for complete renovation which is a bit of a bummer.  If you get in and stay in halls try and get into Beaumont, bloody brilliant.
Thanks [Y] When I had a look around, John-Foster halls was the accomodation that really stood out for me (I think that was the one) I thought it was excellent. The student village is so nice and modern. And that''s fine - because I won''t be here this year. Got my A levels to do this year and I''ll be off to Uni next - ready for the union to be open [:)]

UEA. Before anyone screams "you boring sod" I should probably point out I don''t live in Norwich (or anywhere that close), the maths department there is very decent and it means I can have a season ticket (woohoo, lucky me [:(])

I didn''t actually apply anywhere else - I know I know, that makes me weird too. If I don''t get the grades and I can''t talk them into taking me I''d sooner do some exams again and re-apply next year than go somewhere I''m not interested in.
Fair enough. I definately did not want to go to the UEA but that''s only because I didn''t want to stay in Norwich. I wanted to move and experience life somewhere else. But if you don''t live in Norwich - then fair play [Y]

  6. I''ve found a fairly decent one this week from Holland. FC Twente - joint top of the league with 7 points from 3 games; play RKC Waalwijk - bottom of the league with 0 points from 3 games. Their three losses were 0-1, 4-1 and 6-0. Conceding 11 goals and only scoring one is far from good. Twente have only scored 4 in the 3 games - but they still look sure to add to that tally in this game.

FC Twente V RKC Waalwijk - Home win.

P.s: Nutty - not sure whether I''ll be able to make it friday now. Couple of reasons. But I''ll send you a message on facebook when I find out definately.

  7.
We taunted you when we won 7-1? Seem to recall similar happening when you beat us 5-1 - chants of "We''ll never play you again" ringing round Carrot Road. What goes around comes around!
Wow, how long did it take you to think up that one [:O] [:|]

I haven''t been more sure about anything to do with Norwich City, trust me! The fact that I''ve now heard it from quite a few people withing the BBC ( not going to drag any names or stories in) im now sure it''s happening.

Whoah! Stop there. Stop all of this sh*t!

    Chris Goreham, happy now Andy?
I know I''m going to hate myself for asking such a dumb question, but if Chris Goreham knows this, why hasn''t he used it himself as what those journalist chappies call a story, rather than just mentioning it to someone else?
Simple answer - because its a load of crap.

  9.
Well, well Norwich.  I thought much better of you as a club but after yesterday it’s safe to say you are one of our most hated clubs now.  We always thought you had a bit of integrity up in Norfolk.  I can’t believe the way you have gone about to get Lambert.  It stinks but I for one am quite happy you’ve taken him off our hands.  I haven’t rated that guy since he came here.  Yes he masterminded the 7-1 thrashing of your lot but last season we were awful and alot of that was down to him.  Expect bad handling of certain players he doesn’t want about.  Fine, you might say.  But when the lads are under contract a clever manager will not just cancel contracts of players who have 3 years left and let them leave for free.  A good manager won’t put players who the previous season were playing 1st team and represented England back in the youth team.  A good manager won’t publicly slate the youth set up, current players etc... Expect an overhaul.  You will need money for that.  Expect long ball, negative tactics.  Last season we often went home games without a single shot on goal.  He has little experience and I always felt he was living off his Champions League medal.

Yesterday will probably turn out to be one of the best days in Colchesters history with that arrogant twat going.  You’re welcome to him.

  10.
2 games, 2 losses. Unbelievable Butterworth started these 2 together again last night. Surprise surprise the defence was under he cosh the whole game.

The midfield is the most important area of the pitch, it dictates our attacks and determines how busy the defense will be. TJ and Gill were abysmal against Col U, and again last night it did not sound good. Before the game when i heard the team sheet i said thats it weve lost.

How can i spot this, yet a professional football man in Butterworth not realise that TJ and Gill were awful v Col U and shouldnt really play together?

Adeyemi and Hughes on saturday please.
Simple football, isn''t it? You can''t play two holding midfielders. It doesn''t work (unless, of course, you''re playing more than 4 in midfield). It''s no coincidence our most succesive times recently were with an attacking midfielder in Damien Francis - why don''t we replace him!

Oh, and as for last night not sounding good. I went and you''re right. They were both, awful. Gill was worse on the night but I''ve seen both home friendlies, the Colchester game, and the Brentford game and I still think OTJ is slightly worse than Gill. I do not rate him at all.

  11. Just back from the game - an awful performance from us, and these are my individual ratings:

Alnwick 5 - Not much to do in all honesty.

    Spillane 4 - Poor.

Doherty 4 - One free kick he gave away was simply ridiculous. He grabbed the player and hauled him to the ground.

Askou 5 - Did OK, but far from great.

Whaley 3 - Very poor. Doesn''t seem to create anything. Sorry, who said Croft was bad?

Gill 3 - Bad. Doesn''t have much to his game.

Tudor-Jones 3 - Do not rate him at all.

Hoolahan 5 - Glimpses of good touches and passes, but drifted in and out of the game and also had some very poor spells.

Holt 5 - His shooting in the practice before the game was bad and that continued during the game. Puts himself about a lot but that was about it.

McDonald 4 - I fear he may be found out this season. Not sure he will be as good as we had hoped.

    Nice.

Paul Lambert is one of us, one of us, one of us

Paul Lambert is one of us - he hates Col U [8]

''Col U'' Doesn''t fit as well as Ipswich though [:(]

  13.

Actually, Lambet doesn''t rate Curo..........bugger![:''(]
Finally! A man in charge who can see sense and reality!

Seriously though, I refuse to pay Cureton all that money to miss every week. It''s his job to hit the target, it''s what he has trained and worked for for years. If I went to work as a builder, and missed all of the nails with my hammer so the building collapsed, I''m pretty sure I wouldn''t get away scot free, let alone still have a contract with my company...

    [:O] ''I'' ??

    Is that you, Mr Lambert??
