1. I think a lot of people have got to stop thinking that Norwich City means anything more to staff and players at the club than a place to earn a wage. Moving on is just a change of employer, not a change of deep seated loyalties as it would be for a ''fan''.Lambert sees Aston Villa as his next challenge on his way up the ladder.... and after Villa there will be another one. He has done an amazing job during his time here and we should just accept what we have and try to build on it with another manager.Norwich City is not glamour and glitz to anyone other than it''s support looking in and rather like seeing your beautiful girlfriend sat on the toilet taking a dump... the mystery of it all is gone.

  2.

If Holty had been a shrinking violet he would never have been the player he is.I won''t turn my back on him after everything he''s done for NCFC.
He''s already turned his back on you and all of us.
It''s a short career and he''s got a family to think of.It''s not a personal thing and he hasn''t turned his back on us.... he''s just looked at his life and decided to put security above martyrdom.

  3.
Why not?

It seems McNally''s already pissed everyone of, and lets face it, we dont have to worry too much about him releasing our best player, he already wants to leave! It''s so wrong it''s right*

*This is, of course, a joke. A bad one. But on the plus side, writing this has prevented me from topping myself for atleast another 2 minutes longer than i anticipated.
Relax hoggy.... some of us have been through this sort of thing numerous times and it always seems to work out in the end. [:)]

  4.
A good point babes...

It''s all about the money im afraid. Not the fact that there a bigger club or because there players or league position attracted PL there.

Cluck why the sudden hatred towards Lambert? This is stupid. "tactical naivity". What?
Where''s the hatred?  The point is a valid one and there were plenty of comments on here saying the same as the season wore on.Plenty of managers of ''lesser'' clubs fall on their face when managing big money players and I think PL will be one of them. Not hatred.... just an opinion.
I''ve got a feeling Lambert will fall flat on his face. Expectations will be massive and let''s face it... Holt''s goals made his tactical naivity look better than it often was.Surrounded by big time Charlies on huge money will be very different to dealing with hungry players on the rise and grateful for a club.
Cluck Nose nothing.
Accuracy in it''s shortest form, if I may say so TCC.

Probably the sort of mindless, negative response that we''d all expect from Clucky.  Does he EVER have anything positive to contribute ?

Whatever we may feel about what Lambert''s done in the last 48 hrs, to suggest he is tactically naive is just plain idiotic. But, as I say, nothing unexpected from the author concerned....
Here he is again....Get any further up your own arse and you''ll see daylight. After years of endless insults on here.... you really are a lightweight.... or possibly a mumbling idiot?

  6.
Norwich city had just finished the season outside a relegation place in the old Division 1....18 goal Striker, 30 year old ,Robert Fleck handed in a transfer request... citing more money, bigger and better things...The fans were in uproar, the club darling and top scorer had been sold for 2 million pounds....he was greedy, he was selfish, the club had no ambition, relegation would soon follow...Mike Walker then dipped into the fleck fund to sign a nobody... at 300,000 a manchester united reserve was signed... 21 year old Mark Robbins... who is this no name? thought the fans... He wont get us anywhere, hes a raw reserve team player!15 goals later and the club had just qualified for Europe after its most succesful season.....Grant Holt is our fleck....We need to find our Robins....Europe here we come....?
Yet the great Robert Chase is now seen as a pariah.......It''s a funny old game.

    Cluck Nose everything.
Thank you for your support.

  8. Lightning isn''t going to strike twice.Finding another striker like Grant Holt will be an impossibility given our lowly wage structure so we will have to rely on a team effort to score the goals season season.I suggest boosting the defence as it will likely be one way traffic.

  9.

The problem with Norwich has always been the Board. No matter what era you look back at the Board has always been the least ambitious. Whenever the club gets too successful it gets kicked back to mid-table Championship, or Div 2 as it was. We also always seem to get landed with owners who simply cannot let go, and don''t know when to go for the sake of the club, to let someone else in to take us to the next level.
Spot on try convincing the new happy clappy city fans of that though,we have pleaded poverty since year dot and always self destruct when things are going well.
I''ve said all along that this was a bubble waiting to burst.... and it just has.Being gifted with this get out of jail card I wonder if the same old owners are going to play the same old losing game.Nothing has changed when you strip away the glitz.

  10.
They are not a disgrace, this thread is a disgrace.  They do a job.  They both came in, did a f***ing fantastic job both surpassing everyones expectations by some distance, and now they have decided to move on.  Fair enough.  Make no mistake without those two we would still be in League One.
10/10[*]Thank God someone on here is acting like an adult and saying it how it is.Without PL and GH we would still be a laughing stock and administration a reality rather than a well founded rumour.

  11.
26,000 fans have taken part in a three year honeymoon provided by Paul Lambert and the players.During this time there have been a number of issues behind the scenes whereby the fans have just become customer numbers. No player forums,no open days, the kit launch heavy handidness, the threat of legal action over the beer bottle labels, season ticket direct debit fiasco etc etc.

The honeymoon provided cover for all this and now is the time for us to discover whether Mr.McNally is God or not.No denying that the finances are in far better shape thanks to DM but if it now does start to go pear shaped we ould be reaching a bite your bum moment.Remember the wheel always turns full circle especiaaly in football and the people you neglected or walked over on the way up will remember on the way down.Be careful Mr.McNally be very careful.
Oooooooooooooooooooooooo...... Plod is at it again.Be afraid Mr. McNally. This poster is a former big noise in the NCISA and carries a lot of weight.(mostly around his arse)

  12.
We''re about to self destruct! Manager and club captain both leaving! Where is the ambtion? How can this even be happening?? Somthing is seriously wrong behind the scenes. Who next, Howson?? Bennett?? Ruddy?? This feels like the beggining of the end. One minute we''re sat pretty with the best up and coming manager, the second highest england goalscorer & and some of the best young english talent in our squad ready to get even better & better and take this club even higher, the next minute it''s all falling to pieces in an alarmingly quick fashion with no real explanation.
Bubble burst... but relax as it will all even out in the end.

  13.
''''Who is Kinsella dear?''''''

    Oooops I meant Karsa!

I guess Karsa is a bit like security Officer Smith in Star Trek - makes up the numbers but ends up getting zapped and nobody remembers his name!
President of Afghanistan I think....
