    Let''s all wait to see if Hodgson is a different beast to his ''yes man'' FA predecessors.... or discover that there will be a ''no hard feelings Liverpool'' call up for Carroll and the usual over-capped cronies.No Terry, Lampard and Carroll and I might take an interest in things even if Holty doesn''t get a look in.

Clubs like City even managed 3rd in the top flight back then but I can''t see that ever happening without wage caps or whatever to even things out.Still... new manager, new philosophy and all that.

    I can well imagine the players listening to it after the game and having a laugh... or a good swear if things didn''t go well.It''s not like Sunday football where they have to vacate the dressing room within half an hour of the final whistle so the caretaker can get in and clean up.

    Such radical action hasn''t happened in the England set up for many years... but if Hodgson bucks the trend and selects our Grant he''ll have the support of every one of us no matter what happens during his England tenure.Apart from anything else I want it for Holt if only to show the football world that the under dog can still make it to the top if he''s good enough.
