  1. Before the days of commericialisation of the web, every website was a homepage for an individual or group... nowadays those homepages have been formalised in structure and given a new moniker of "blog"... personally, I''m all for them. The web should be about people connecting and communicating to people, rather than large corporations broadcasting information and consumers un-interactively receiving that information. Leave that to TV and newspapers, the web is a different kind of medium of communication.

Increasing the visibility of what you write is simply a part of that. I don''t always agree with the constant spamming that some blogger''s on this site employ, which might be the reason for the OP''s rant?

  2. Dunno if any of you read the very funny "The Gaffer" and the amusing (but affectionate) spoof column of our very own Ian Crook recounting our glory years...

This is the URL to the latest of the series...

    http://www.the-gaffer.com/features/columnists/too-many-crooks/chapter-8-a-day-at-the-races.html

Needless to say, the Gaffer was livid...

  3. For Gods sake - why are football fans so pathetic that they see fandom as a competition in itself?

Seriously - people are and should be allowed to support or enjoy a team as much or as little as they want.

The "I''m more of a football fan than you" crap doesn''t half wear thin around the millionth time...
