Sorry, could you repeat that post in English? -
> I would like to think we will survive in this league but every game that goes by makes me less confident. We''re averaging one point per game so it could be quite tight.Agreed that we played some nice football today with some neat passing but it was all undone by some poor, poor defending. -
Abso-flipping-lutelyI just do not understand the logic of this.Every time BIlly Booze gets the ball he has to stop and cut inside.Every time Bell gets the ball he has to stop and cut inside.Hoolahan comes on and I thought he would swop them but, no, on we go with Hoolahan cutting inside every time he got the ball.Nuts! -
Agreed, and a typical column where he hopes we have forgotten what was previously said.I wonder if he is working on his own ''exit strategy''?I hear there''s a job going at the (Sweet) FA.... -
..and another thread descends into a slanging match....Doncaster says:"Despite much Press speculation about potential new owners over the 12 years of their involvement, to the best of my knowledge Delia and Michael have yet to be made any offer whatsoever to buy their shares. Not from Colin Davey. Not from Giovanni Di Stefano. Not from Peter Cullum. And not from anyone else."Note ''to the best of my knowledge'', ''yet to be made an offer''.I could have sworn that in previous columns he said that they had spoken to ''a number'' of people interested in investing in the Club, particularly around the time the Cullum story broke (when he was trying to suggest that Cullum was not the only deal in town). As he says, surely you can''t have it both ways? -
From the official site messageboard:------Here''s a simple idea - and achievable in the current climate.1. Thank Roger Munby for his time/tenure as Chairman bt ask him to step down.2. Contact one of the people who have been interested in investing a moderate amount of money and appoint them as the new Chairman on the basis that they (a) buy a small % of shares, and (b) put a six-figure sum in each year. This person should be a dynamic businessman/woman with fresh ideas on how to take the CLub forward, an entrepreneur rather than a PR specialist.3. Seek out a new CEO. Whether you think Mr Doncaster has or hasn''t done a good job, I think he''s become a bit stale in the post and we need a fresh start from someone who could bring in some new ideas/approaches.4. Pay the new CEO a lower salary (c £120k) and use the balance to appoint a new Head of Sales/Marketing. Tis would (again) bring in some new ideas on the S/M front and also mean that the CEO could get on with running the Club.I''d also consider increasing the size of the Board and inviting in a few more directors for smaller amounts of money (as per the Chairman above) - more brain power, spread the investment around the room etc.------- -
>I have a feeling MFP could just be our MVP come tomorrow 5pm :)He''s more like an MPV at the momentMy fave nickname for him at the mo'' is "Billy Booze'' -
Sixteen games in -
Wot Mr Chops said. -
>Sorry Glenn but the paper I bought didn''t have that rambling. I will try to get a paper on loan that will obviously be better.Oscar Wilde is turning in his grave -
I didn''t say he was perfect, nor that the Troy deal was a good idea (it wasn''t).You asked for him to explain it and he already has.I''m surprised you didn''t "know" that already with your amazing intuition into how his mind works. -
But you stated it as a fact.Maybe you could preface your statements with ''IMO'' or ''In my opinion'' in future. It just might help sort the wheat from the chaff. -
Yes, you. -
>He is hanging on for a pay off...and you''re basing that statement on...? -
He explained it last night - read the reports. He''s held his hands up to that one. -
So, about 17 questions were asked.12 of them directed towards the football/management.Only 5 about the finances/investment and business side of things. Why don''t people save their questions about football/the team for one of the Supporter Roadshows? It seems like the wrong place to ask these things but apparently happens every year. -
Camul - Mello was talking about our rather supine local media, not trying to sell the story to the wider world.Still, I hope you''re proud of yourself (and/or your trade) for dragging the whole painful story back up for Mr & Mrs Peak. -
Because it''s all very well you or I buying it for £10 but the new owner has to have a lot of money to put in, year after year, to rebuild the rolling stock and the tracks. -
> Perhaps you can pm your email address to me and I''ll send the message? This is all very cloak and dagger isn''t it. DoneApologies to everyone else reading this! -
As said above Patty and Clingan in the middle is just too negative. I can''t see either of them getting forward enough.I''d try Bell in the middle with Clingan - with Croft and Hoolahan on the wings. With Lita and Lupoli upfront it ought to (in theory) keep Swansea busy - question would be whether we''d be strong enough defensively. -
There doesn''t seem to be anything there when I click on the messages...:o( -
Mac - I''ve sent you a PMNick still goes to NCFC games - usually when he can get a free ticket/meal/drink off one of his clients....;o) -
>You don''t know a bloke called Nick Stone by any chance do you?I do - if you mean the bassist in Steerpike (and other bands).Graphic designer. -
Another Iwan one from somewhere in the Barclay - after an impossible ball was played some way in front of him for him to run onto:"C''mon Iwan, use your pace"
Time up Roeder
