1. In defence it goes this way:

one player does not make a good defence. - the opposition pass round him.

one player can make a bad defence. - the opposition know that they have

a place to target, and so they attack it early. our over defenders have

to move to cover this weakness which leaves gaps in other positions.

Fleming does seem to me to be slow and small and imo you can only have one of these attributes now.

Personally I don''t blame everything on him, just I feel that his time has prehaps come.

This season I wrote off in mid september anyway, and would like to see

more of our youth, who I think are as good as flem and will get better

    with games.

  2. I would play this team:

                        Ashdown

    Colin - Docherty - Shackell - Drury

    Croft -    Etuhu    -  _Kid2_  - Eagle

                  Dublin   -  _Kid1_

Bench being: Camp, Robinson, Fleming,  _Kid1_sub, _Kid2_sub

    with

    _Kid1_, _Kid1_sub

                 being

RyanJ and Henderson (Isn''t he actually a striker - he''s an awful winger)

    _Kid2_, _Kid2_sub

being from Rossi J, Spillane, Halliday and Fisk - whichever is best in

    midfield starts

(don''t watch reserves much but have heard they are mostly

    defenders)

    my only concern is

he''s being obliged to work with what''s here - its like an arranged

marriage by the board - can the likes of hunter/webb/livermore and PG

hit if off personally and professionally to bring City success?

usually an incumbant manager brings in his own people to ensure the

chemistry is right.  in such a highly stressed environment, if the

management team are not 100% comfortable, then it simply won''t work and

their disunity will be reflected on the pitch.  in the past city had

success with williams and stringer, internal appointments that worked

    well together.

    - the thing about managers bringing staff with them is: usually these are coaches that they have worked well with in the past (see Sven and Tord Grip - about 5 teams togther). Grant does not actually have anyone waiting to follow him as he is new to management

  4. While the Doc and Drury are out we should play:

                      Gallacher

    Colin - Dublin(c) - Shackell - Spillane/RossiJ

    Croft - Etuhu       -   Safri    - Huckerby

                Earnshaw - RyanJ

Bench: Camp, Fleming, Robinson, Eagle, Spillane/RossiJ (the other one)

Subbing off players later to end with (those that don''t last 90 mins):

Winning: (3 off - Croft, Huckerby and Dublin)

                          Gallacher

            Spillane - Fleming(c) - Shackell

    Colin

    -

    RossiJ

       Etuhu   -   Safri

    RyanJ           -

               Eagle

                            Earnshaw

    Drawing/Losing: (2 off - Croft and Dublin)

                      Gallacher(c)

    Colin - Spillane - Shackell - RossiJ

          Robinson - Etuhu -   Safri

          RyanJ - Earnshaw -  Huckerby

When the Doc gets back swap for dublin - put dublin on bench for fleming (more options).

When Drury gets back one of Rossi/Spillane goes back to reserves, which ever does worse I suppose, Drury starts.

When Lewis gets back he goes on bench (or loan).

  5. of the current squad we have:gallacher - no - goalies do not make good captains - cannot talk to strikers very often.doc - poss - but banned for next 3 gamesflem - poss - but would rather he didn''t playshacks - no - too young colin - no - too young drury - no - too quietluis-jean - no - not played enoughetuhu - no - too young safri - poss - but needs to concentarte on own playrobinson - no - too quiethughes - poss - but would rather he didn''t playhuckerby - poss - provided it doen''t compromise his playcroft - no - too young mcveigh - poss - but would rather he didn''t play over huckerby/croftearnshaw - no - too self involveddublin - poss - experience would be useful,  has captained before.thorne - poss - but would rather he didn''t playryan jarvis - no - too young/not played enoughWhile I''m at it I would like to see the team as:                    GallacherColin - Dublin(c) - Shackell - Spillane/Rossi JarvisCroft -   Etuhu    -     Safri   - Huckerby          Earnshaw - Ryan Jarvis

  6. I can think of 3 league clubs whose boards/chairman have the whole hearted support of the fans:Chelsea - results based.Arsenal - results based, also for keeping wenger for so long.Aston Villa - on the basis that lerner is not doug ellis, but they would whole heartedly support a potato for chairman, provided it was not doug ellis.

  7.
Diving should be punished more harshly, if a player was sent off every time he blatently dived, that''d bloody stop him!
Repeated Diving should be punished by:2 attempts to get a penalty  - penalty to opposition.4 attempts to get a free kick - free kick (to opposition) from the point at the other end that is equivalent to the most advanced position of the dives.1 for penalty + 2 for free kicks - free kick (to opposition) from the point at the other end that is equivalent to the most advanced position of the dives for free kicks. Each dive after these would be punished by a penalty/free kick to the opposition in the same way.The delay - not first offence - would be for if people genuinely trip up, but not repeatedly.50-50 situations could be left out at the refs discression. Also if conditions are poor i.e. heavy rain, the barriers could be raised to reflect the increase difficulty of staying upright. This would stop divers trying for penalties especially as thier defenders beat 10 kinds of crap out of them for giving away multiple penalties in a match.

  8. You can''t really make the same adjustment on both sides as was made for hux alone - entire back line drifting slightly to their right so hux has the right back and right-sided central defender to play against with the strikers up against 1.5 Central defenders and left back - as this leaves earnie free up the middle. If I was a manager playing norwich now i would tell my wide midfielders to drop back abit to help the full backs. (or actually me - try and score about 20 and forget the defence)

  9. ...lets all tempt fatenah nah nah nah - nah nah nah nah...lets all tempt fateetc, repeat to fade.Muwahahahahahahahahahahahah!

I''ll laugh heartily at Ipswich tonight porvided that we''ve beaten torquay, who are ranked lower than peterborough by 8 places. It isn''t particularly surprising they lost however p''boro are second in their league so have results going with then, JM has not yet won a match as manager (long may it continue).

  10. i went yesterday for once.hoofball - there was about 5 miunutes of proper hoofball just before the goal, together with a some defensive clearences, balls to run on to and long balls cross field (these three are used by all teams, even brazil)Etuhu played well. he got man of the match and kept turning up in the right places - i reckon was candidate for MoM even without the goal. Why is he always lumped in with hughes (crap) and robinson (never does anything great or awful - makes for a good backup)? We seamed to be playing 442, i think, with robbo on the right, it should improve with croft.Only criticism - why play McVeigh & Earnshaw and then replace them with Ryan Jarvis and Thorne. Surely pair Earnie & RyJ  and McV & Thorne.

  11. What exactly are the club going to say then? - "Woohoo, someone else wants him!" - then wolves get him for nothing as they can see the board want to keep him.If they make the hands-off / no interest type noises (but not many of them) wolves have to give us some money.also if they shout woohoo too loud wolves may wake up and smell his management style.

  12. "Not Democratic" - this is a buisness. we are not real madrid and do not elect the president of the club. Free-market democracy does hold anyway - if you can afford it buy some shares then you can have a say on these matters.No-one can stop anybody buying a controlling influence in any buisness, except for the people that sell it to them. thats Capitalism. The fans are entitled to exactly no say - except as customers of the football club, you pay ~£20 for 90 minutes "entertainment" the only say you are entitled to is "Am i going to go (or not)?"

  13. "Are you sure that it is because of a lack of support that the players

under perform, or is it because they are simply not good enough?  If a

player gives his all, regardless of talent, I will always support them

as its not their fault that a below average manager bought them in the

first place."Shame no one else will - Look at Hughes  - its not his fault hes awful and he tries hard. Look at Robinson, hes not actually that bad - people decided he was cos he was very cheap.Look at Etuhu - hes OK, hes 23 and qualifies as a young player, should get better and is investment for the future.shame they all play the same position however.certainly Robinson and Etuhu are good cover for the middle of the park - just need a first choice player in front of them.I suppose part of the problem is that they are replacing Francis, who was very good for us.

  14. The concensus opinion seems to be that svensson wanted to stay and was missmanaged out.He left due to a clause in his contract that said he could speak to anyone if they would offer £200,000 and we got relegated.Who put that clause in exactly? - If it was worthy then i''m suprised he manages to shave of a morning without slitting his throat- It must therefore have been the player - so he was planning that he would leave on relegation well in advance. Part of this clause is also that the club HAVE to sell if the price is met.

Edworthy - turned down a deal when he was first choice trying to get a better one- stopped being first choice- didn''t get a better deal, as now not a first teamer, so turned that down to try again- club said okay then, we will call your bluff and so he lefthe played a dangerous game with his contract and lost - if he''d taken the first one he''d still be here, and probably earning more than he is now
