I''d like another David Fox, maybe one who is a bit better defensively, but not at the expense of the creative play.Full backs are a priority as well. Naughton and Drury looking unlikely to be here means that we need one each side.We probably want another forward as well, as we only really have two scoring. -
47% of 20 people? How?Apparently:9 and a half voted for Rodgers.6 and a fifth voted for Phil Jones a little lower. -
I don''t see why they should be balanced. There are three categories of club (before the start of the season)T) Top 6: ManU, ManC, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, LiverpoolM) Middle 7: Newcastle, Sunderland, Everton, Fulham, Villa, Bolton, StokeB) Bottom 6: WBA, Wolves, Wigan, Blackburn, Swansea, QPRWhich would go category A, B and C naturally as you argue. But there are also three kinds of matches:GT) Bank holiday weekends and school holidays.NT) Ordinary Weekends.BT) Midweek Matches. And of course Televised/Not. If you rank them with giving 3 points for T and time span GT, 2 points for M and time span NT and 1 point for B and time span BT and then taking off a point for it being on TV you could assign the bands:A = 5 or 6 pointsB = 3 or 4 pointsC = 1 or 2 pointsYou get things like Fulham (M) on Dec 31st (GT) not on TV with 5 points in band A and Wigan (B) on March 11th (NT) on TV with 2 points in band C.With the small number of midweek games and not really getting big teams on premium match rounds, we will have a higher number of band A than band C. -
"Football is football, not basketball. Possession is paramount. You have and the other side doesn''t."The second part of that statement is equally true in Basketball. -
The team that played against Bolton would be my choice. -
Also on the logic of the most likely to improve of those possibly going down, I''ll goQPRWolvesBoltonLeaving Wigan and Blackburn the survivors from those I think still threatened.Although as West Brom are still possibles according to many here, I''d go for:StokeAston VillaQPRBut it won''t happen obviously. -
Words prove anything you want the too Gruffalo. Last year words showed Paul Jewell was a better manager than Paul Lambert.Well its as true as your statement about statistics. -

What will happen when cars can do 88 miles per hour?1955 won''t be the same again, that''s what. -
I really want Blackburn to stay up, because I doubt they will improve over the summer. Same with Wigan for that matter. On the other hand QPR, Bolton and Wolves have much more potential to improve for next season. So I''d like QPR, Bolton and Wolves to go down. However, I expect Wigan definitely will go down with Bolton and Blackburn. -
Just checked. No penalties that lead to goals in the matches between norwich and qpr under colin / with holt.http://www.soccerbase.com/teams/team.sd?team_id=1855&team2_id=2093&teamTabs=h2hWhat a colin -
Jackson''s goals per shots ratio is so good because he misses even contacting the ball to have the shot in the hardest chances, which don''t show up in those stats. This is especially galling when if he made contact it would be a tap in, as it frequently was. -
" If he''s playing as a striker what has he done to get ahead of Jackson? And if he''s playing behind Holt what has he done to get ahead of Hoolahan?"And if he is playing in both roles at various times, he is ahead of both. -
My own effort. With thanks to the title for inspiration. And now its clear why this song isn''t used much for chants. This is the greatest and best team in the world. . . tribute.Long time ago me and my brother Adam here,... we was hitchhikin'' down a long and lonesome road. All of a sudden, there skulked a boasty binner...in the middle... of the road. And he said: "Play the best stuff in the world, or I''ll eat your souls (whisper:Souls)." Well me and Adam,... we looked at each other, and we each said... "Okay." And we played the first thing that came to our heads, Just so happened to be, The Best Team in the World, we were The Best Team in the World. Look into my eyes and it''s easy to see Holt and Holt make two, Holt again makes it three, And then Wesley. Once again every six months or so, When Surman doth shine and Jackson doth flow and MacAuley own goal---Needless to say, the scum were stunned. Whip sack went his muppet evans, And Roy Keane was done. He asked us: "(snort) BE you united?" And we said, "Nay. We are but cityRock!!Ahhh, ahhh, ahhh-ah-ah-ah-ah-ahn, Ohhh, whoah, ah-whoah-oh! This is not The Greatest Team in the World, No This is just a tribute. We all remember The Greatest Team in the World, Yeah.Yeah! This is a tribute, oh, To The Greatest Team in the World, All right! It was The Greatest Team in the World, All right! And it was the best mother fuckin'' team,The Greatest Team in the world! Allllllright!''Ti Tuga digga tu Gi Friba fligugibu Uh Fligugigbu Uh Di Ei Friba Du Gi Fligu fligugigugi Flilibili Ah (Bow) (Bow) (Bow) (Ooh) (Bow) (Bi) Fligu wene mamamana Sacrebleu!(Mene) (LUCIFER)! (guitar solo)And the peculiar thing is this my friends: the Team we played on that fateful night it didn''t actually lookanything like this team! This is just a tribute! You gotta believe it! And I wish you were there! When we beat em five one.Ah, ****! Good God, God lovin'' , So surprised to find you can''t stop me,now. I''m on fire--O hallelujah I''m found! Rich mother****er compadre simultaniously:oooh/(Demonic)aaaaah! All right! All right! -

"This is not a dig at Ruddy but if he ended the season as an England keeper, I think we can wave goodbye to any success in the Euro''s! "What chance of success in the euros? -
@Steve 9-2:I did think that a little after posting, but the keeper situation seemed not to be the topic of this thread anymore. -
Chops. The second of those was the defenders fault for standing in row Z. -
I''ll throe out the names of Gilks and Kingson.I''d be particularly interested in Gilks. If he hadn''t got injured I think Blackpool would have stayed up. -

I''m another on the "over 30 please" bandwagon.Personally, I find it strange that people who worry about not signing proven premiership strikers and worry about the number of premiership games our team have played in total, desperately want to go into the season with all three keepers that are 5 years or more from their peak with no Premier league experience.I also find it strange that people are bleating on about "another league one winger" in Pilkington want FF on the basis of playing for us in league one, where he managed to single handedly lose the Leeds match, got sent off TWICE and managed to concede 2 penalties in 10 minutes against Tranmere.Furthermore, it seems to me that people who don''t want FF back because of the effect on Ruddy, are not concerned about the presence of another keeper, but about that keeper being in particular FF. In particular, a keeper that was better than Ruddy (and isn''t FF) would allow us to have Ruddy on the bench at the same level, providing competition, whereas FF would probably mean we still need a backup. I do want another keeper, and if we get one that is better than Ruddy and Ruddy becomes backup, then that will be lovely. However it is not like Forster is the only keeper out there who is better than Ruddy, there are quite a few. Indeed there are many that are better than both Ruddy and Forster and have experience and don''t carry the extra price that goes with potential - potential being a commodity that is highly priced in the market for which we have we do not need, indeed possibly have reason to not want. -
He''s too young for a free transfer. It''d be a tribunal (but still cheap) -
If you think its embarrassing, imagine discovering yourself singing it at away matches when we score. It has ruined me as a person. -
Holt - 8Jackson - 2Vaughan - 3Morrison - 7Martin - 12Well, I will be the only one who will say told you so.
Are we safe?
