2. I think he deserves a lot of credit for his performance yesterday.

He looked assured and confident with everything Wigan threw at him - yes he made the mistake when he went rushing out to their striker but tell me a goalkeeper that hasnt ever made a mistake.

I''m glad Lambert didnt invest in a goal keeper on yesterdays performance - Ruddy played well.

But no doubt had we signed FF we would have won with the big Geordie netting the winner.....

    Keep it up John!

  3. I''ve not been able to attend any pre season matches because of holidays etc...

I have a few questions for people that have attended them :)

    a) what are the main weaknesses?

    b) which players have been the stand out performers?

    c) lastly Anthony Pilkington- obviously delighted that he''s played 30 odd minutes of preseason- how good is he and does he look anywhere match fit?

I know you shouldnt read much into pre season but I''m curious

    Thanks in advance OTBC

  4. The first thing I noticed when browsing on the ''first team profiles'' section was the players who havent been given a squad number.OTJ is the first but we all know why that was.... the others were Stephen Hughes, Stephen Smith, Ant Mc, OJ and Ceeeewdy. Are we to assume that the 5 still at the club of those mentioned above are definitely off? Personally of all of them Cody is the one that I''m a tad disappointed about- I don''t really know why but I think Cody will go on to score a lot of goals in his career but at this point just aint good enough for the Barclays Premiership. Good luck to all of them.Oh and also Steve Morison is number 5 [:S] Really? Where does this leave the squad in terms of numbers? How many players short of 25 are we?Lansbury moving here might be making a LOT of sense [:D]ON THE BALL CITY!

So to summarise, no one has any greater insight than tthose in he 15 previous threads where this has been discussed.

Great CT thanks.  Glad to see you are maintaining your originality and intellectual rigour

How about some more threads say one about Cody, who will leave, who will be in the 25, another Cody thread and once you''ve done those it should be time for another Chrissy Martin thread!!!

Are you really that devoid of attention?

    Well that was helpful....

  6. I went to the game as well mate, good value price only £8 for me.

Anyway yeah, I completely agree whilst Ipswich threatened to score the winner (particularly at the end) Cambridge had a lot of chances e.g the header just over, the curling shot which almost went in and they also hit the cross bar.

Chopra was the Scums standout player (as you''d expect I guess?) player but this doesnt say much as Ellington and Scotland (who both played along side Chopra- Ellington came on for Scotland if i recall correctly) were awful.

There was absolutely no gulf in class between the two. If I were a scummer (perish the thought!) I would be worried about next season.

Oh and just an OT their absolutely ridiculous ''hark now hear the Ipswich sang when Norwich ran away song'' really started to p**s me off... as I told my Norwich supporting mate who came with me ''if running away is thrashing them 5-1 then fine''....

We''ll be the pride of Anglia for a few years to come [Y]

  7.
Was listening to The Monday Night Club on Radio 5 last night and they were talking very positively about Norwich (for about 2 or 3 minutes between 20:30 and 21:00, should be available on the iplayer for anyone who wants to have a listen). In the studio were Mark Chapman, Martin Keown, Ian McGarry and Jonathan Pearce.  Chappers initially questioned the signing of lower league players, but Ian said he was very impressed with the signings to date and spoke about a chat he had with Lambert a few weeks before the end of the season about his transfer methods.  Jonthan Pearce spoke about Holt, Jackson and also highlighted Russell Martin as someone to look out for next season. One of them (I believe it was Ian McGarry but I''m not 100% sure as I was navigating the Hanger Lane Gyratory at the time) said that of the 3 promoted sides at this time with the current squads, Norwich look to be in the best shape for next season.  He went on to say though that QPR have a lot of money and could still make some key signings.http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b012kq98/5_live_Sport_The_Monday_Night_Club_18_07_2011/
I''m listening to the show now. They''ve just had an interview with Brendan Rogers.... the beeb LOVE Swansea [:|]1hour 36 into the show and still Norwich havent been mentioned....
