  1. Wish I could have seen Smirker Foley''s face after the 0-3 drubbing by Preston on Monday. If he was still smirking after that shambles, he deserves absolutely no respect. If he wasn''t smirking, then what''s he on about?  Just being inflammatory for the hell of it?  The 5 in a row has gone.... we''re back to the normal stuff now.

Look at the bigger picture, Foley, like you and Worthless tell us to do. It''s a disaster... Played 28. Won 11. Lost 12. Minus 4 goal difference.  Proud of that, are we?

There''s one on the chin for you, mate...

  2. “I think [Worthless''s Manager of the Month award] is well deserved,” said Foley, part of the well-established management trio that also includes Doug Livermore. “We won five games on the trot in December and you can''t argue with that.....

“I''d say it''s one on the chin for some of the supporters who wanted [Worthless] out.
What I''d say to fans is wait to see where we finish at the end of the season and judge us then.”

WE WILL, MATE.  NOTHING LESS THAN PROMOTION WILL DO.....

  3. “It is within our powers to overspend the budget,” said chairman Roger Munby. “But if you overspend you must under-spend elsewhere or bring in more new money.”

“The money might be from sales
, or from other sources,” he said, citing the share issue of two years ago which enabled City to buy Darren Huckerby and also contributed towards the purchase of Dean Ashton a year ago".

So - anyone out there willing to part with some more of their cash for Worthless to spend?  With a squad our size (ignoring quality...) it seems to me that they either have to

    1. sell Ashton (£8 million) and Jarrett (£8) in order to buy; or

    2. make do with what they''ve got (season over, on that basis...); or

    3. hand round the begging bowl.  Ha! ha! [:P]

I''d go for 2, on the basis it should mean ''game over'' for Worthless.  Thoughts?

  4. Sorry, A1canary, whilst I agree with your view about all the nurses stuff, I shall keep on repeating this message until I go yellow and green in the face.... [:@] "it wasn''t only Norwich who were called upon to play 4 games in 8 days".

It''s just that no other side has had the cheek to wheel out such an unacceptably lame excuse for what was an abysmal and downright depressing display of so-called ''football''...

  5. IMO, Tumbleweed, the real problem re Worthless is that MWJ and Delia are just far too nice.

Having seen them mixing it with all and sundry - from Charles Clarke downwards (or should that be upwards...??) - in the Gunn club yesterday, it''s quite clear that they''re very happy doing that sort of thing (and long may it continue...) but would both run a mile rather than say ''Boo!'' to a goose.  A charming trait, but no good at all in the tough world of football.

That being the case, I can never see them facing up to marching Worthless off the premises. And no-one else will move without their say-so, since they hold the purse strings.

What I also find strange is that they cannot see that ''players'' (using the word in the broadest sense...) such as Etuhu have nothing to offer.  After all, he''s been on view for weeks now and has done precisely nothing... OK, except one good through ball to WLY against Leicester.

Why let Worthless have the money for such non-entities when it''s blindingly obvious it''s about to be wasted?  Not even a polite ''are you absolutely sure this is a good use of our money, Nigel?'' seems to pass their lips.

    Its'' all soooooooooo depressing.  [:(]

  6. Still hiding hisself after his ''C''mon Preston'' post, I should think.... The ''magic'' appears to have worn off [;)]

    Reminder:

"I''m cheering for Preston North End tomorrow, they are a brilliant side, and play classy and slick passing football which we and Worthy can only dream of!.

They destroyed Coventry with it yesterday, and I fully expect them to do it to us tomorrow.

Come on Preston, don''t let me and thousends down!"

  7. Whether right or wrong, it''s just that Norwich were not the only team called upon to play 4 games in 8 days, Sheded.

I repeat - Reading, for example, who were on an even bigger roll than us - did the same and won 5-1. We gave up within minutes (admittedly only effectively playing with 10 men, since Etuhu was invisible...) and lost 0-3.

The result just speaks volumes for the team''s attitude, from Worthless downwards, at present.

Sad to say it, but the season looks well and truly over to me now ... Hello, mid-table mediocrity, if we''re lucky... [:(]

  8. I cannot believe what I am reading on the website - and I so agree with most of the other postings today - Etuhu is a total waste of space and it''s a travesty that we''ve spent any cash on him.... I wouldn''t have taken him on a free.

What the hell is Worthless playing at - or, more particularly, how is the Board letting him get away with it???? Didn''t they see what we all saw (or, rather, didn''t see) yesterday?  A total 6'' 2" non-entity.

  9. I have just checked the Championship fixture list since Sat 17 December, 2005. We are far from the only team to have played 5 games between then and yesterday.  The leaders, Reading, happen to be amongst that group.  They have been/continue to be on a roll, and won 5-1 yesterday.  We were on a roll too and lost 0-3.

For the manager to say that 4 games in 8 days is all too much is pure cop out.  I, for one, just don''t buy it.  The team, from the manager downwards, needs to look at itself honestly and ask ''are we giving honest value for money to our supporters''?  All up, my son and I spent approx £100 yesterday on tickets, travel, car park, lunch, programmes etc. - and we went home (150 mile round trip) feeling throughly p***ed off with what we had seen served up as ''football''.  We were then absolutely incensed by the lame excuse trotted out by Worthington on the radio.

IMO, we saw the end of Norwich''s play-off hopes yesterday. There''s an attitude of mind in the club which is all-pervasive now [see Simon Charlton''s pary-line ''all too much'' comments too] which is ''it''s someone else''s fault''.  We''ll never achieve on that basis.

Just get real, or get out, Worthington!   [:@] [8o|]

  10. It''s just that he doesn''t seem to be able to cope with the knocks very well, LGT.  He gave the clear impression to everyone that he was hurt on Wed night, and then played up when he was taken off for his own good, not because he was playing badly.  What was he trying to do - fool the oppposition that he was injured?  [*-)]

It was side of him I hadn''t seen before, and I don''t like that sort of spoiled brat behaviour in any player (unless ''justified'' in the heat of the moment, which this wasn''t, IMO).  For the first time, I felt I was watching Ashton the prima donna in a NCFC shirt...

For the moment, I can''t shake off the view that we won''t miss him (if paid sufficient) if there''s more of that side of his character to come out - hence the decision to go public and seek some therapy! [:$]

  11. Anyone agree with me that biggest disappointment by far on Wed evening was watching Limpin'' Lil (AKA Dean Ashton) put on a show?

For once, I agree with Mr Worthless: "He does a very good impression of a player limping,” said Worthington. Ashton gave the distinct impression on more than one occasion in the second half that he had lower back twinges or similar, and then goes and throws his toys out to the pram when he''s subbed by stomping off down the tunnel.

As I walked back to the train, I couldn''t believe what I heard myself saying to my mates:  "Actually, I wouldn''t actually miss him that much if he goes in Jan..."  Still feel the same, 2 days later....

    Am I alone?

  12. I thought Colin looked more up for it on Wed than in any previous home game. He''s got some pace and was far more willing to go forward than in earlier games. Am happy to see him keep his position pro tem.

Agree Drury let little or nothing through in defence, but he''s so poor in his general distribution, having won the ball. Also, he needs 3 taps of the ball before distributing.  Check it out next game; we all do a countdown in the Jarrold stand when he has the ball....  IMO, that''s why he looked so dinstinctly ordinary last season; you need to be more comfortable with your first or, at most, your second touch of the ball in the Premership. If, by a miracle, we get through the play-offs, Drury will have to be replaced, sadly.

Doc yet again MOTM for me, despite some good stuff from Charlie, Hucks and WLY. The man simply stands up to anything/one, had effectively a 100% record in the air, and covered literally acres on Wed.
