1. The £90m includes 1 seasons Prem money and 4 seasons parachute payments should we have got relegated after 1 season.

Like purple says, there''s not much we can do about the debt, with it having to be paid, but it should mean we can raise the bar a bit next season, whatever league we are in (although proportionally, should we be relegated).

  2. Like the guy above, who refers to the Arsenal and Manchester United thrashings, are you saying we didn''t turn up, no-one performed etc but in the 8-2 and 6-1 games, it wasn''t the case? I''m sure their fans were the same that day, but not many would have called for Fergie''s or Wengers head.

Yeah you can look at their past and say they are experienced and you can rely on them, but Hughton''s past certainly isn''t bad.

  3. "As humble as everyday people who struggle to put food on the table and support their families through a very difficult financial period? Or an injured soldier, like my grandfather, who lost his leg whilst in action and struggled on despite his demons like a proper trooper? I''m sorry but Darren losing his Porsche (and rich lifestyle) is not on the same level, especially when we all know he had sustainability in media work. He''s doing alright for himself is he not?

I like him as a person, as a player he was great, but a bit of perspective is needed here."

I don''t understand when people say things like this. You can get all sorts of arguments about what is worse. It''s all relative. But losing something you had is awful and that is what it comes down to, doesn''t actually matter what it is.

  4. I don''t think it''s necessarily they are Johnny Come Lately''s.

My first (first team) game was Mike Walker''s return V Swindon, and have hardly missed a home game since. So like you I''m perfectly used to managers going (Lambert is the 8th permanent one I can think of) but this is by far the best period the club has had since I''ve been going.

Without Lambert and Holt, we would not have got to the Premiership, let alone surviving, so it does seem like things could potentially be falling apart. We''ve done so well, and am so desperate for it to continue (like everyone else) and with the very things that have pretty much got us where we are wanting to leave, it''s hard.

  5. It''s no great surprise though, who has come through in the last 10 years to a decent level - I can only think of Green, Shackell and to a lesser extent Hayes and Martin.  Adeyemi etc are still too young really, but that we have him and Smith that''s still pretty good.  As we haven''t been in the Prem long we won''t have had time to improve our academy enough - but with the changes, and us applying for category 1 status should help significantly.

  6.
Sorry mate, I was there too and I certainly didn''t get the impression he''s staying - the speeches made by Alan Bowkett, David McNally and Lambert himself did nothing to point to him staying - if he was staying he''d say it, he didn''t (& the others all commented on a ''plan b'' should he leave) so I believe, as much as I don''t want it to happen that if a better job offer comes up he will take it - and if it does, good luck to him.
Equally, if he was leaving, he''d say it, but he didn''t.

  7. The thing is, whenever you play average in the Prem, you will probably lose - look at Tottenham on Easter Monday.

We are safe, the pressure if off - whereas Blackburn needed the 3 points desperately, and with that combination defeat is always possible.  In fact, look at Wigan''s victories against Arsenal and Man Utd - both of them have things to play for, but Wigan managed to beat them.  At this time of the season, all sorts of things happen.

Seriously seems like some posters are waiting every week for us to lose to be able to moan!

  8. I''ve never really rated him to be honest.

It''s one thing buying your way out of the championship (with Sunderland too) but he''s not cut it in the Prem IMO.

Fair enough he''s kept Wolves up in the previous two seasons, but there''s been no progress. 15th in their first season, 17th last season and now look set to return to the Championship.  Also at Sunderland he''d got 10 points from 28 games before being sacked.  Bit like Warnock, good in the Championship but isn''t good enough to become succcessful in the top flight.
