  1. I think you will find this is one youngster that will play under Worthington.  He has always liked the lad and thought very highly of him, he does deserve a run in the first team imo more so in fact that any of the other youngsters that have signed.  Would agree with previous poster though, Michael loves West Ham and no doubt would be off like a shot if they were to become interested.

I Reckon Danny wanted to play regularly, or be involved more in the first team and Worthy didnt like it, that a young enthusiastic kid wanting to do well, who was local and supported the club.. was telling him what for.

I reckon you may have hit the nail on the head Jas prob another one who dared to have an opinion and ended up being snubbed ie Bently.  Appears you cannot disagree with the "guffer"

Aidy Boothroyd really liked Danny as  a player when he was with the youth team something to do with the fact that he always worked his socks off and listened and was always willing to learn.  I personally hope he does go to Watford as he was imo always the better striker from the youngsters ie Henderson and Jarvis and he deserves to get on.

  3. You will never hear Nigel say anything like that because as your title suggests its "an honest verdict" not something our Nigel is exactly!! All credit to Iain Dowie thought his interview was great and today I read that he has asked that Aidy Boothroyd does not be banned from the touchline in the final.  Seems like a nice fella.

  4. Fantastic for Aidy I am really pleased in Nigels defence (I dont normally defend him) he was if I remember correct very much against Boothryod leaving Norwich and I think it was more to do with Sammy Morgan (Academy Director) at the time.  Hence Morgan was sacked not too long after Boothroyd departed.  From what I saw and knew of Aidy he was always an extremely ambitious man and I doubt if Norwich would have held on to him anyway.

  5. The problem with playing the youth is if you look at the academy results (1-0 defeat at fulham yesterday) that was with the 4 new professionals in the team!!!!! maybe they are not ready.

At the moment Spillane is injured otherwise I am sure he would have been starting, Jarvis senior is getting a "little" go and jarvis junior is probably not good enough, Joe Lewis as Worthington said in a interview recently is not ready yet.  I think that now it is this late wait until the summer and then work with them and see exactly how good they really are.  IMO you will still be seeing the youngsters next season on a Monday night at carrow road playing for the ressies.  Michael Spillane being the exception.

  6. I have watched Michael virtually the whole time he has been with Norwich never seen him play right back, always centre mid and centre half Cave Brown plays right back for youth team and reserves Michael always plays centre half.  So whilst he can obviously do a job there it is not a postion he is used to.  Having said that thought he has done a good job, but it is the same old senario bows to pressure to play him, but cant drop Doc or Shacks as both playing well, Michael hasn''t played centre mid for some time so take the option of full back. imo

  7. I think you have got it a little bit wrong Andrew Cave Brown is a Scottish U19 full back, Rossi Jarvis has been called up by England due to the fact that he has been involved with the first team, it will remain to be seen if he becomes a regualr in that team as surely his undoubted lack of pace will be a downside.  A few years ago Adam Smith was the talk of the academy, he also got called up by England at u18 level he is now playing for Kings Lynn.  I happen to agree with Hucks, but I do feel that if you dont play the youngsters now it will be daunting next season.. I say given them a go, no better way of seeing who is and isn''t ready and now we have only pride to play for, I think it would be great to play them whilst there is not really any pressure on. I am not sure about your comments that Dave Williams is the best coach at Norwich though!!!!

  8. Whats the view on the professional contracts being given to some of the youngsters?  I have followed the youth and reserve teams for many years and I would like to know anybody elses opinion on the personnel that have been offered contracts.  IMO I feel that Andrew Cave Brown has what it takes to go further in the professional game, Robert Eagle on his day is great he has a sweet left foot.  I unfortunately do not feel that either Matthew Halliday and Andrew Fisk would actually offer anything to the club and I could not see them coping with Championship football in the near future.   I am quite surprised that Adam Gusterson was not offered a contract as he has always looked a solid acomplished defender when I have seen him, and he has two great feet.  What does anyone else think?

  9. To my knowledge Rossi has always played at the back either right or left of centre half in earlier days.  I believe he has been moved to midfield because of pace, whilst he will no doubt be a acomplished central midfielder one day I dont think in my opinion he would be up to the job at the moment.  I think this is why when they played him against West Ham they at least played him in a position he was totally comfortable with, but the pace was obvioulsy the problem.  IMO he would need a season in reserves at central midfield before he is ready for first team action.

  10. This was posted as a happy post letting fans know that at last something that a lot of people have wanted to happen has happened and the club are finally looking at the youngsters.  If you wonder how things like this get out KIDS TALK and for some of the boys this is the biggest thing to happen in their life.  I know there is also the downside for the 2 unlucky boys but ultimately the news should be shared with the fans.  I hope the big hairy centre half  rumours (which I have not seen) you are not associating with me.

  11. The lads offered 1 year pro contracts are Andrew Cave Brown, Andrew Fisk, Matthew Halliday & Robert Eagle.  The 2 who were not offered anything are Adam Gusterson and Lee Howlett.  Michael Spillane I believe will be offered a 5 year deal at the end of the season, I dont think he is old enough to sign a contract yet.
