1. I mentioned this when Alex Ferguson came out about international football rights on MTV (not music TV!).Can''t remember which thread it was though sadly.

I wouldn''t trust man utd, ferguson wouldn''t make that final decision on money and revenue so he can say what he likes, it would be the board. And i can''t see the Glazers saying "yeah its fine we share the same amount as x promoted clubs from the championship after all they deserve it".

  2. It seems to have received some criticism, it cost 1.6billion dollers! And appear to have made it look like a car park but i thought it looked impressive too. The americans clearly want more value from their money than we do.

Got tickets on the half way line in the "nose bleed seats". I don''t know a great deal about american football but from several trips to the US they seem to go crackers for it so would like to be a part of that. See how it compares to watching Southampton v Norwich on a wet and windy Tuesday night in a johnston paint trophy game....!

one concern is its open air and i am watching the game at the end of october, i''m taking some warm clothes....and a norwich city brolly.

  3. I agree that it is a must not lose game, but must win, not so sure. If we draw i won''t be too downhearted (i won''t be pleased either) If we lose it will be depressing as swansea''s away form both last season and (this season, though they have played city and someone else that''s good) isn''t great and don''t know how many points they will pick up on their travels.

fingers crossed - 2-1 win, we won''t keep a clean sheet and hopefully outscore them. Holty to get the winner on 85mins having come off the bench and not fallen over!

Apparently Lee Croft is back playing for us. i checked, twice definitely no ''ex'' norwich in there. 8th picture down.

Mixing it up with a bunch of pikeys and essex girls. Recipe for disaster! Lee Clark was right,

" Ahead of his return to his parent club, Derby manager Nigel Clough stated that Croft had no future at Pride Park and that he would look at loaning the player out again in 2011.[27] On the expiration of Croft''s initial loan spell at Huddersfield he returned to Derby, Terriers boss Lee Clark stating "Sadly, Lee Croft couldn''t achieve the levels I know he can offer. I saw him during my last season with Norwich when he was in sensational form, but during his time with us he wasn''t able to reproduce that"

  5. Ah Ben Alnwick, currently plying his trade (accoridng to wikipedia) at Leyton Orient.

Interestingly, we signed him up after this little scandal

"On 7 December 2006, tabloid newspaper The Sun reported Alnwick, along with team-mates Chris Brown and Liam Lawrence had filmed themselves in an orgy with a brunette girl referred to as ''Stevie''. In the video, Brown films his team-mates perform sexual acts on the girl as well as themselves, and is said to give "Match of the Day" style commentary throughout"

Good lad, though a little fruity.

  6. Bought the new home kit this season, i think that pretty much financially ruined me so wouldn''t need to buy a second one! unless i ripped it while playing football in it. It hasn''t made me run any faster or play better. Occasionally i blame it for the odd sliced shot as it is VERY bright.

There was a whole thread about this but are Norwich now replacing their home shirt every season? i can''t remember.

  7.
Sing up the river end :)
pretty amazing odds on 9pts :) would be worth a tenner if you''re confident! ;)

I think 4 is the mimimum we require. Swansea have not been good on the road, no pts no goals i think, but then i don''t know who they have played. Man city was one i think and if so that''s not a surprise.

it''s a big ask but i think if Norwich have a realistic chance of staying in the premiership, they need wins against swansea and blackburn. The back end of the season is particularly cruel on Norwich.

  8. Yeah it has worked (''squad rotation''), he did get fined though! very small amount but i wouldn''t want to get small club big club paranoia going again even though it seems the big clubs are allowed to rotate their squad and small ones can''t! For another day that.

with the break i think they should go all out to get... a point. Yes i''d like to see jackson have a chance but his confidence won''t be high after not getting a look in so far even with his late goal salvo helping norwich into the premiship. (''we''re not sure what he was doing before March'' roughly quoted from Holt!) If his confidence is low would it be a good idea to put him up against Jones, Evra, Ferdinand et al. Jonny Evans fair enough, he''s toss.

  9. I accept that no one is expecting us to get points from the big 4 away games, i am not sure if it would be wise to think "well as we''re not going to get anything lets do this..."

I''d stick to what might get you something. Although United are nigh on impossible to beat at old trafford points can be earnt.

I totlaly agree the games that are most important are those against Swansea, QPR, and so on. however if those teams lose to the big 4 and we got a point or two out of them it would put us in the better position when coming up against them. Every game has to be treated as

Mccarthy has advocated playing weakened sides against the top sides to better prepare his team for other game weeks but we have a 2 week break after this so they might aswell go show what they can do (or cant!)

  10. I''m not sure about the regulations regarding the loanee''s. If someone got injured badly and went back to parent club and so on, would your quota still have been used and so on.

If loan is completely not available option then i don''t know what i''d do!! I can''t see buying a lower division striker in january resolving the issue of consistent goal scoring. morrison, holt, martin are all from the lower divs and aren''t _likely_ (although i hope they will be) the answer to the 12-15+ goals a season to keep you in the division. Mind you if you don''t conceed many you might not need it.

Go super R.Martin! (and Tierney, Naughton, Barney et al)

  11. I''m not sure if Lambert ruled this out indefinitely but certainly at the beginning of this season he said. "he was put off by continental players because they take time to settle" and, there isn''t time for that in January. They have to hit the ground running in January from when they get off the plane.

I think the remaining outstanding strikers in the Chaqmpionship are Lambert and Maynard, i think they would both be valued at 3.5m upwards. Quite a comitment for an unknown quantity at premiership level.

I''d go the loan route i think, decide who is more important de lait or naughton (ward, whitbread back, lose de lait?) and loan a top striker.... maybe Tevez ;)

  12. I don''t look above i just keep an eye on 18th position and how many points the team occupying that spot has. Hoping Norwich aren''t that team or the one in 19th or 20th!

I think as has been documented, the end of season for us is going to be a shocker and points will be hard to get. Think there''s arsenal, spurs, man city, everton and villa or something of that nature. Mind you by that point in the season Everton might not have any fit players.

Although 8pts from 6 doesn''t sound that much, as mentioned above, bolton, have 3 from 6 and fulham, blackburn and west brom (who got 3 from us!) only have 4.

That West Brom result is the only blot on what i would have said prior to the season starting a faultless start. I dont think we could expect anything more.

We''ve played Chelsea and Man United next so that will be 2 of the big 4 where we''re expected to get 0 pts from (both away!) if we still have a 4 pt margin from 18th i will be chuffed.

  13. If we''re in that mid table position - 5-10 pts clear of relegation spots i would like to see what ever money lambert has left to loan a top striker from a side where he isn''t getting in for whatever reason..tevez ;)

So rather than paying x million for signature - just sign someone who can get 10+ goals in the final half of the season for us, to get us over the line of safety. A bit like spurs signing adebayor (i''m not suggesting we could afford someone like that but that idea)

  14. I''m not sure if both will be out Houston canary. i imagine they would rest rooney if he is only just fit.

i put £10 on manchester to draw when they went 3-2 down, fergie time always allows for a draw or win. And it could have been a win but the ball went a fraction wide on a cross. So i''m glad they drew! an easy £40.

I''m in no doubt they will get quite a few good oportunities against us, hope ruddy'' continues his good form. Would love to take a point, think thats probably the best we could hope for from old trafford as you won''t be playing against just another 11. Youre playing the officials, 60 odd thousand fanc and fergie.

dun dun dun (in cliffhanger type music)

  15. Armchair fan raised a similar point in another thread earlier to which the counter argument is;

sunderland on the back of winning 4-0 over stoke, who we and united could only draw with suggested they had hit some form.

it could be that norwichs efforts nullified them, quite possibly. when they played norwich they were rubbish, had dominant posession but no cutting edge (sound familiar, norwich vs west brom?we had no cutting edge, - did west brom play well no?)

so what is being commented on is the contrast in performance. I read on the BBC i think before the game, sunderland haven''t won away in the premiership on a monday EVER. or some very small percentage.

The result isn''t a surprise but their performance level was.
