1. The last line in your post sums the whole sit-u-ation up for me Jim.  This club will tear itself apart if its not careful.  Roger Munby used to talk about the togetherness of this great club.  I doubt we will be seeing much of that at Carrow Road unless we hit the form of the Championship season from the off!!

We need a proper statement from NCFC, afterall they have had three days to come up with something!!

  2. Nope there has been nothing further.  It has amazed me how much reaction there has been to this nothing story.  If PC is serious about investing in NCFC I would like to know exactly how he proposes to put in £20 mill without buying any shares and gain a control in the club. It does not work like that, as I am sure he is aware!!! If he wants control he should start hovering up the shares that are available.  ...and there are more available than you might think!

Id sell some of mine if I thought they were going to the right person for the right price, as I am sure a fair few other shareholders would.

  3. Another great post by sxcanaree on this thread.

I just don''t know what to believe anymore:-

I mean are the EDP writting this purely to sell papers, how much truth is there actaully in the story?  Until I see Cullum on TV or in person saying all of this I just don''t think I beleive it and our support seems very quick to jump on the boards back.

However NCFC have remained totally silent on this issue, which as a paying customer and  a shareholder I find totally unacepatable.  Don''t come asking for cash from me again NCFC for shares as we are treated apualingly by you!  As for the 20000 season ticket holders who have put in around £8 million again this season, some news might go a little way to reassuring us that we have not yet again wasted our money on a season that is already looking like yet another wasted one!!!

So come on Cullum and Smith (or the current board) get out there and tell us the truth!  What if anything is going on???

  4. Sometimes I feel really sorry for the day to day staff at NCFC.  They are just doing their job for gods sake and you lot rip into them like its going out of fashion for every little detail.

I doubt very much that people who work in the shop have spent the last four days pressing refresh on here like some of the saddos on here!  So I doubt they are up to date with this nothing story that so many of you think is so important!

Next you will all be moaning about what comes in your season ticket envelope.

Life at NCFC goes on, with or without Cullum!

  5. If you are looking to buy shares in NCFC then there is nothing to stop you doing it right now (well in the morning).  Phone NCFC and ask for the company secretary, I am sure that she will be delighted to take your money.  If note phone the stockbrokers on London Street, Norwich - I am sure they will be able to advise you how to get some as they did the placing a few years ago.

  6.
Clearly everyone would welcome 20m in with open arms. My only worry is how the money is managed - hopefully we keep up our policy of managing our money - I dont wnt something to go wrong and risk the club. But as long as it is used appropriately - Great!!
Managing our money well??? thats why we are £20 mill in debt dispite selling large lumps of lands, selling 20K STs every season and running many "successful resurants"!!!  Hardly well run on the money front!!!

    My view:

    • NCFC must accept this offer

    • October offer may have merely been deferred til end of season

20 million quid will get us promotion and keep us in the premiership.  There aren''t many things someone can blow millions upon millions on and football is one of them.  He doesn''t need this money so why not push it the clubs way, even 20 million is a small slice of Cullum wealth.

You are joking aren''t you.  £20mill gives no guarantees, esp when you think what QPR have to play with.  £20mill in football buys you very little as £20 mill players want massive wages!!!

I’m just confused by the whole affair.

I can’t understand the timing of the story. We are in the market for new players and announcement of this nature is bound to make it more difficult to sign players within the current wage structure, unless the majority of our transfers have been completed already. This seems very unlikely.

Most importantly I can’t understand how Delia and Michael were playing Russian Roulette with the club’s future by not progressing the offer when the club’s position was at an all time low. It would appear that the fortunes of NCFC were considered to be of less importance than individual ones.

The news is great, and hopefully this will lead to some much needed new investment in the club, but why has it taken so long for an offer to move forward, if it has at all?

Re the timing of the story Tim, I don''t know that NCFC have had a lot of say in it as its EDP/Cullum driven.  It looks to me like Cullum wants to get on board and maybe with this article going out he will have a stronger hand as we will now have the backing of many of the fans.  As for Delia and MWJ not trying to get him on board in October, I am very shocked by this. NCFC was in a right state back then and any money would have been very helpful.  No doubt the board will state that they kept us up, but that is not very long term forward thinking is it?

  9. I am going, and I will support the team from the off, as I always do.  But i do reserve the right to voice my opinion if they let me and the other travellers down (again).  I will have travelled 440 miles and given up over 12 hours of my day to support the team so why should I not complian during the game if I am not happy?

Remember Crewe is a very enclosed ground and the players will be able to hear us, as will the management and the directors.  Tomorrow there will be no hiding place.

C''mon City don''t let the fans that pay your wages down again!

  10. Tumbleweed and others, it is really starting to amaze me how many people are ready to start missing games this season.  People who have been going for years are so fed up, that they are threatening to vote with their feet.  I will be there, but only because I am two miles from Carrow Road and as you said I have paid for my ST.  I used to live 120 miles away and like you got to most if not all home games, so I do understand where you are coming from!

The point when the board will relaise how fed up people are, is when the ST''s go back on sale for next season.  I will be interested to see when they do this and what, if any, increases to cost are made!

  11. Yes its very easy to knock the shareholders who were at the meeting, but you were not there.  Any criticism of Nigel Worthington seemed to be taken as a criticism of our board.  Like it or not that is the way that it appears to be taken and who wants to knock Delia and M W-J for what they and the rest of the board have done over the years.

I went along with eight or nine others expecting Nigel and the board to be under fire, but from the outset people stood up and backed the manager and the board.  Its very hard to go against the gain in front of so many others, I can assure you.

I came to the conclusion that maybe I might be in the minority wanting a change of manager.  Yes there are loads of people in the chat rooms calling for change but is that a true representation of the fans, you have to ask yourself?  Because I tell you what they are not exactly calling for his head at games are they?

  12. My one concern with the current management structure has always been, how laid back they are when it comes to the transfer market.  Time and time again we here that we have made inquires and are awaiting clubs to call us back.  If I did that in my job, I would never get any business done.  I chase my outstanding items every other day at least.

I know we are not privy to what goes on behind the scenes, but for the last two years I felt we panic brought at the end of the summer and I wonder how many of the players we set out to get, actually came to Carrow Road?

  13. Fat Barman, I agree with your points raised (oh and by the way I signed up for this site as people seem to be able to have a reasonable chat with snipping and being part of the "in" crowd, unlike some sites, which I still read, but rarely bother to post on these days.  I hope this remains the same).

I like your point about maybe bringing someone else in to help, but I am not sure if Worthy would go for this, as it may be seen as undermining him, or that he has failed.  Its a good idea all the same!

With most unsure about how the loan market would work this year, plus the fact that most clubs are running with smaller squads this season it was always going hard to use this to our advantage again this year.  Yes it worked well for us in the Championship season, but I never felt we could match that this season.

Your spot on about the other 3/4''s of the football club, they need to start listening, take criticism and lean from their mistakes, if we are to make anything of this season.

As for Rick''s peice in the paper last night - best I don''t comment on that as I like this website and I normally like what Rick writes.

  14. As I have said in other posts, I would NEVER want another team to beat Norwich.  If you start thinking like that, you may as well support another club, or just stop going.

I still think Worthington is the wrong man for the job, but if he proves me wrong, fair do''s to him and I will back him again, once I am a lot more satisfied with performances.

Come on City lets do what Luton did to use.  You the TEAM owe us for that performance at their place!

  15. Gazza, my thoughts exactly.  It will be interesting to see how many people do actually stop travelling in the coming weeks.  More and more people are ready to stop spending their money on away games or so they say.  I will be at Coventry, Leeds and Hull because they are new grounds for me, but as for the rest, I am not sure.

I also thought there is another good point in this thread....

How many goods games of football have there been this season?

  16. As much as I am a critic of Worthy at the moment, I would NEVER go to a Norwich match wanting them to lose, just to see a manger get the boot.  I would be the first to say I was wrong should he turn it around and lets be honest here the best result for NCFC would be for Worthy to turn it round, as that costs the least amount of money and causes the least amount of change for the players.

I would think all fans will be behind the team at Carrow Road for the Luton game, I have seen no reason so far this season that would suggest otherwise....

...if however they are 4 down at half time, like at their place, who knows!

  17. I have got to the stage now where I do not bother to read the interviews with the players anymore.  They all say the same thing week in week out, but then they fail to follow up their words on a Saturday or a Tuesday night!

Still I may sit up an read an interview where a player does not back the manager!
