None of these players were "unknowns"

Nunez was a Chilean International, Sainz had played 40 games in La Liga, one of the strongest leagues in the world, and Sara played for Sao Pualo in front of almost 50,000 people a game?

To be fair, 'unknown' is probably fair on Nunez. Doubt many fans outside of Chile were aware of him. I wasn't and load of my family are Universidad Catolica fans. The point stands that the scouting network are earning their corn. I think his full debut for La Roja was after we signed him but hazy on dates. 🤔

Beacause it seems Núñezs fanclub loved the match 😂

They like overseas based players and now Brereton Diaz's stock has fallen and he's not picked for La Roja, Nunez is a bit of a darling. My brother in law gets mobbed wearing his old Aviva Norwich shirt. We've a few Catolica fans in the family, they all stream Norwich games.. Great for NCFC's exposure in South America

    Maybe they are lurking! 😃

There's a few ghosts lingering at the back of E Block, in seats which they don't have tickets for. Justin Bieber still holds a drum, a kid bangs it and Justin's dad smiles like a loon..

    Lovely stuff.

Yes, absolutely. He did really well with the one the Plymouth player took round him.  Forced him really wide. And the sprint off his line you mentioned was probably match-winning.

    Great report as always

I am Barclay E Block and for Whittaker's header I thought Gunns position and reaction wasn't up to his usual, it was saveable. His save down your end, with outstretched leg, Ricardo, looked class.

An excellent article attached from today's EDP.

Surely this was all that was needed anyway rather than the daft lines for offside that nobody can see with the naked eye.

The argument that it cannot be afforded at second tier level ought to be complete pants bearing in mind the second tier in Spain does it with a far more modest financial base.

I've always been against VAR and despite the red card being overturned on appeal I'm utterly convinced that VAR would have upheld the decision to send him off.

Pick a current player who think is underrated at the moment and player who is overrated. Here are my current ones.

    Underrated

Jack Stacey my my he’s turning into an amazing signing. Free transfer and a large sum pocketed for selling Aaron’s. Six assists and a real threat down the right.

    Overrated

While by no means do I think this guy is not a good player I feel there is a slight over egging of how good Nunez is. He’s still quite inconsistent and struggles to impose himself in games against the better championship teams.

Agreed on Stacy. Think that's harsh on Nunez even taking off my Chilean spectacles.. His link up play has been excellent recently. Last season I would have agreed

Right, here we go, tin hat on and ready for the flack. Before we go any further, I do NOT for one moment think that David Wagner is the manager to take this club forward BUT........

Even the most yellow and green bespectacled fan would have to admit that we are hardly the most exciting prospect for an even half-decent manager with ambition. This is particularly true if, as many continually insist, we have bought rubbish players for the past few seasons and the board won't make any funds available to improve the squad, and will probably have to sell our best players to survive. Grabbing the first out of work manager with any sort of history has not worked before, so why do many seem to think it will work now?

We have a new sporting director starting on Monday, who we hope will be a great asset to our club going forward. Do we really want to force him into such a major decision this early in his tenure, just so we can slag him off when/if it goes wrong? Our downturn in form seemed to largely coincide with injuries to key players, most of whom are on the way back soon. This division is so tight that a decent run can shoot you back into playoff contention very quickly, at which point the managerial job seems a lot more attractive.

Would it not be better to hang on the Wagner at least until January, which we also give Ben Knapper a better chance to assess the best course of action to move the club forward?

I appreciate your efforts,  but your question is binary and I can't reciprocate to your verbosity so I'll say: No.

Yes, it's true. Was wondering if anyone would post this. Good binner bait mind I'm sure they'll be all over this thread soon. He did delete the post mind but this being the internet everything is saved. Like his "middle finger to you norwich i'm in suffolk" post from when he played with us.

All I have to say about him is..

He does like young girls. So I heard. 15 year old girls. Allegedly. That's all I have to say.

If my post about Stu shagging the ex head of HR (allegedly) got pulled, this is also sailing close to the wind.

It's a big part of football that's either changed, or my youthful ignorance just didn't see it when I was young and coming to the football with my dad.

Late 90s when I started to go properly and it always felt like, no matter what goes on we support the team and then if its terrible we all complain at the end. We can be 2-0 down and instead of booing everything NCFC related we used to try and pressure the ref and take it out on him.

Now its like fans spend the week preparing a list of excuses why they shouldn't support and its a little beyond me. Of course this isn't everyone. But I do think it's perhaps a general trend that's developing in football.

I think, equally that there's quite a section of support (kids and new comer Adults) that have really only followed us in the last 12/14 years, they've only known relative success. Also, others have quite selective memories. A promotion, a relegation. I wonder how they'd have viewed the footballing pergatory and wasteland of Peter Grant and Glenn Roeder? Omar Koroma, a beautiful mover indeed. That being said we're carp and it feels like another watershed moment, the start of another 5 year plan...  Booo.

It is funny how people thought he'd built some unique connection with us when it's clearly his MO with all fanbases in order to engender a sense of togetherness. It's a good idea but I wonder how effective it is at the 4th or 5th club.

Obviously the same.. That's why he does it. Just because he's telling Leeds Fans what a fantastic club it is and why you play for the badge on the front of the shirt and not your name on the back, obviously works. Builds a cult of togetherness. Neil Warnock did the same but with an albeit different narrative and he had 20 clubs.

I wasn't keen on moving. But now you've got my two grandsons sharing my old seat. When they can get to it. There's a lot said about the Elite hangers on by people who have no idea what goes on.

What I was told today about Coventry on Saturday was worrying. And disappointing that commited city fans get abuse from their own.

They get my halitosis. Not you, you should be thankful.
