Daniel did have it in his locker in the way he became more pragmatic in team selection and tactics to stop the rot and where we started to pick up points. The 7-0 rather spoiled that, but we had improved in starting to get points.

People assume I think Farke would have done better had he stayed, but my point of view has always been that the squad and team cohesion would improve through the season as new players bedded in - and that would have happened under Farke or Smith - and is partly why Smith has been able to get improved results - the team is growing in confidence and cohesion as time goes by. So it's not a DF vs DS argument from me anymore, that time has gone - it's a point of view that we should be doing better as we move through the season and today we were not at our best, which we will need to be to get out of the relegation zone. Today was too much like against Palace - way too much giving the ball away cheaply and inviting pressure. More performances like the last two will just see us stay in the bottom three.

So you don't feel any tactical changes, coaching or man management techniques by Dean Smith and his staff have changed anything?

You think we'd be in the same form/ position and at the same level of hope if Farke was still here? I'm not being inflammatory, I'm just interested.

Sutton has the right, as anyone to analyse a player's performance, every player has off days, an expert might be able to suggest a reason for this.

What Sutton did was to critisize the way he left the pitch, the way he didn't high five Idah, this is not Sutton's job it is over dramatic has suggested a situation which probably doesn't exist

Some people seem to delight in his poor performances, probably based on personal intolerances. My opinion is that he has lost his confidence due to poor treatment by the club, he might be physically fit but at the moment is not mentally fit for the big games.

I hope that the club can publicly support him and the supporters can get behind him, it is in our best interests.

In what way has the club treated him poorly in your opinion?

  3. It's interesting that some will say this makes it more exciting. But from someone who doesn't watch every race but keeps an eye on things (similar to a lot of other sports as well), stuff like this makes me less likely to become invested in it and want to watch and follow more closely. Seems too manufactured.

  4. I'm a total casual with F1 but that seems very very unfair.

Tbh though, I think the whole safety car thing is weird anyway. A crash a few laps from the end completely invalidates what's happened before, a big lead built up etc.

Should be able to keep your time advantage when restarting. Or not allow pit stops/ tire changes during safety cars.
