How dare you, Rudolph - my first car was a Vauxhall Chevette.
Don''t forget that game at FCR in the late 80''s when they scored two in the last couple of minutes to snatch an ill-deserved draw. I''ve always hated them for that and their old chairman David Evans - he just reminded me of Chase.
-
We will be lucky to ever have another left back as good as Bowen, the way he used to just time his tackles to perfection and come away with the ball time after time was really something.
I''ve never seen anybody tackle so well and stay on their feet at the same time - one or two of the current squad could do with lessons in this area.

People yelling ''SHOOT'' whenever Safri is in possession regardless of whereabouts on the pitch he is it was funny for about 5 mins but is a bit old hat now.
Also singing ''on the ball city'' whenever we have just conceded a goal. Sometimes it seems as though this is the only time we sing it. It is our anthem and just feels funereal when this happens. I should add the bit just before kick off with the p.a guy getting everyone to sing it - for god''s sake we''re not all 12 years old. Rant over.

Apologies to all the Gary Holt fans out there but I too thought he was awful. Couldn''t trap a bag of cement.

"well said herb how must the players feel and the manger mr worthington when all they reaD IS from posties like wiz sack worthless ,its smiths fault wake up you lot and get behind the team."
Well, King of Latvia,I don''t much care how the players feel when they read all these negative posts. I don''t suppose they care too much how WE feel having to watch the drivel they have served up this season. If they realise how strongly many people feel about their performances then that can only be a good thing.
As for Worthington, I hope he does read this: get out now we''ve had enough of your long ball c***.

I agree that as things stand Green will not be going to the world cup. Of the options listed I think number 3 the most likely. Green must know by now that he has to leave Norwich to stand any chance internationally. Admittedly he hasn''t had a good season for us, but IMO is at least the equal of if not better than Kirkland but needs to be playing in the Premiership to be considered.
I also feel that if Green were to play in Germany I would be more than a little concerned. Robinson is head and shoulders above the rest and beyond him England are struggling.

Fantastic post, Tumbleweed. It''s been depressing enough for me and I only live mile or so from the ground, I feel so sorry for all the guys who travel long distances to watch this shower every other week. Who could possibly blame you for giving the Luton game a miss? -
I agree with Dumbledelia on this. If a defeat to Luton meant the end of Worthington then yes I could live with it. Having said that the likelihood is us losing to them and keeping him anyway.
WORTHINGTON OUT.

Couldn''t agree more, I''m sick to death of these interviews.
TALK IS CHEAP.

If Delia lets things continue as they have been and we are relegated then she will be every bit as culpable as Worthington. Neither will have done their jobs properly. -
Why has he not signed one then? He assembles the team and the buck stops with him.
Andy Hughes has leadership qualities admittedly but is just not good enough.
IMO it''s quality we are really lacking.
-
Why the obsession with former players? Great players for us Crook and Bowen etc undoubtedly were but ALL of them are unproven as managers. Surely there are other considerations here apart from whether they played for us.
We need (if and when Worthington goes) the best possible man for the job not the best of our old players. I wouldn''t mind having Williams in as coach, having said that, as he has a wealth of experience in this country.

Maverick . regarding Hughes and JJ - spot on. -
Agree absolutely. Hope Leon reads these and gets an idea of the high regard he is held in by Norwich fans (quite rightly). Here''s to a speedy recovery.

I read somewhere once that we lose about a tenth of the game overall due to the time the ball is out of play. What I will say is that the amount of stoppage time played these days seems a lot more than used to be the case say 15 years ago when the referee just added on what he felt was right. We regularly get 4 or 5 minutes at the end of a half these days - don''t remember that happening back in the day.
Funny how it always seems to be 4 minutes + if we are trying to hang on to a lead .

I''d love to see Bellamy play for us again but would have to agree Crook is probably the man most needed at present. I''d love to have seen MacDougall play as I''ve heard so much about him from my dad but alas he was before my time, wonder if he really was as good as all the old boys reckon. -
How has Keegan failed at every club he''s been at.
Promotion at Newcastle
Promotion at Fulham
Promotion at Man City.
Wouldn''t mind some of that sort of failure here.
-
Burley or Jim Smith. -
I wish I could disagree with you Andrew but judging by what we are seeing at present you are probably right. If we play like that again I shudder to think what will happen against an in form team. -
I have to disagree. As much as I want Worthington to go we ARE now in a relegation battle (just look at the league table if you don''t believe me) and we desperately need 3 points from the Cardiff game.
Chanting ''Worthless out'' all through the game would create an environment in which it would be nigh on impossible for the players to concentrate and try to get a result.
After the game is another matter, however but whilst the game is in progress we have to try to get behind the team.
-
I can''t believe Fulham didn''t buy him before the season started. Granted he''s had a slightly shaky spell but I think he''s better that what they have got. Unfortunately I don''t think Eriksson will take Greeno to the world cup , I think he will go back to picking Calamity (as number 3) purely because he has more experience. -
I think this is a very good point -especially in regard to Henderson. I''ve been re-reading Iwan''s book and in it he describes how in one game the crowd gave Hendo such a hard time that he was practically in tears at half time.
I know opinion is split about the manager at the moment but (and I do know this is sort of stating the obvious) we really need to get behind the boys now and none more so than the young ''uns if they are picked.

I think most of us have no problem accepting defeat as long as we can see total commitment from the team and this is what has been lacking in recent matches. Let''s face it as Norwich fans we are hardly unaccustomed to seeing our team lose but if the performance and effort are up to scratch then we can accept it.
I wonder if we are struggling under the weight of expectation this season as we have been woeful against some teams we would be expected to beat, yet last night in a game against a strong Brum side where few would have expected much from us, we put in a much improved performance.
Proud of yourselves?.

Canary Braveheart - I wouldn''t blame Ashton for wanting to leave. He''s a good footballer who must despair at having the ball hoofed up the pitch in his general direction. He''s too good for that and if he has got any sense he will sign for a good PASSING side at the first opportunity.
He will get no stick from me - contract or not - should he decide his game could progress further elsewhere.
